Well we had a great evening with some good friends. This place is a very cool historical old post office that has been turned in to a restaurant. We had smoked salmon dip for an appetizer that was delish!! I ordered a petite filet with bbq shrimp. The husband ordered smoked ribeye steak with asparagus and cheddar grits. Everything was so good. Our servers were absolutely wonderful. For dessert I got white chocolate bread pudding that was so yummy. Definitely should give this place a try if you are in Camden AR. It's a great find! It took 40 minutes to get an appetizer of loaded potato chips, another 10-15 minutes for the entree (mine was missing my blackened chicken because the waitress thought I just wanted the sides‍), my husband split his chicken with me while they cooked me one which arrived after another 40 minutes! This used to be a great place but quality and service is miserable now. Several repeat visits has delivered cold food across our table, steaks that are dry and overcooked. I mentioned this but was still willing to eat because I wanted to be genuine and not come across as complaining needlessly. Normally someone would try to be apologetic or something but this was met with like it was my fault that we had six people ordering a spread of steaks and chicken. The problem was, the "special" was ordered for two of our six and the rest ate steaks. This was the third time across two months this happened. And I'm sorry but it's not an easy recommend. I can go to McDonald's or taco and get food that's horrible without having to pay so much for horrible food. The women waitresses are super nice and they do a great job. The bartender is spot on. After getting back to the hotel, I opened my box and dug into the fries right away. They weren't too bad - thought they'd be more loaded with cheese (originally from WI) cause I love my cheese! The room was glaringly bright. Wooden tables were not adorned with table clothes, candles, or any table decoration. Silverware though nice was wrapped in a paper napkin. The food was good- especially the calamari appetizer & the filet mignon. Side potatoes were unremarkable. We did not receive house vegetables as the menu stated, nor was any bread served. They were out of the day's special desert so we ordered creme brûlée; it was ice cold (as if just removed from refrigerator) which took away from the dish's appeal. Cocktails were average. Service was attentive. My biggest disappointment was total lack of atmosphere. The place has so much potential. This place is amazing. The curb appeal and the architecture of the building is absolutely beautiful. The name is suiting since this was Camden's original post office. They have saved a piece of history and turned it into something beautiful. Downstairs you have a bar, upstairs(main floor) you have casual dining. We had fried pickles as an appetizer (enough for four), husband had the blackened chicken and I had the filet and veggies. The entrees come with these amazing potatoes on the side. I don't know how they do it, but they are small wedges of perfectly crunchy on the outside and soft & amazing inside. I could make a meal of just the potatoes. My steak was perfect. Postmasters Bar and Grill is the best restaurant in Camden. The building used to be the US Post Office back in the 1900s and is now made into a very cute restaurant. The food is fantastically creative, great quality, and absolutely delicious. The service was on point accurate nice and helpful. This place was absolutely amazing! We just moved here and since we have been on the road for a few days, we were looking for something besides fast food. Postmasters had the best reviews, and it certainly did not disappoint. The meats were perfectly seasoned and grilled, vegetables cooked to perfection. We even had a chocolate lava cake that had bacon cooked in it! So delicious! We enjoyed the atmosphere. Even though this seems more a bar than restaurant, the servers were still happy to accommodate our toddler. Attentive service and fantastic food make this one of the better restaurants we've ever been! We just loved it and will happily be returning as often as we can! read more
