One of the BEST finds in Piemonte! We had been driving in the countryside and our guide had asked…read moreabout lunch time and had said she had heard of a local restaurant which was very good. She phoned ahead to confirm it was open and a table available, which luckily it was. The restaurant sits within a lovely surrounding of trees, fields and poppies. The restaurant itself has wonderful restored brick ceilings and tile floor with a beautiful fireplace. There were several other guests there when we arrived; a work crew out for a filling noon meal and a couple lingering, as everyone does in Europe, over their wine and dolcé. We each ordered one of the specials and each ate every bite! The gnocchi erbette (herbs) in bolognese was divine! The taglietele with melenzana (eggplant) was delicious! (the Mr. says so!) The bread perfecto! As we had more traveling to do we did not try the wine but we did have an espresso!! that was yummy! The owner/chef came by to chat and ask after our meal, he was very humble and accepted the compliments with grace.. Thank you for such a wonderful memorable meal!

First time we tried the Tajerin al ragù, our 2 years old daughter is keep repeating "-agù" since then, true story. We came back with a larger round 2 days after, this time for lunch, and it was even better, we loved the raw meat and the spezzatino. Even the Grissini and bread are home made and delicious. Highly recommended for a delicious dinner or a relaxing, long lunch

We were in the area with a guide tasting some wine and it's was time for lunch. They've got a beautiful Terrace overlooking the Vineyards with a great view. To start we enjoyed a plate of wonderful burrata with delightfully shaved Parma ham. We each chose a pasta for our main course-me the thin spaghetti with rich and flavorful meat sauce and my wife ordered the tiny hand-pinched pasta in butter with a generous shaving of black truffle. Both were delicious. The star of the meal was the setting on a beautiful Terrace overlooking the vineyards. It was very special. Recommended

We order a local wine which we had tasted only an hour earlier. We were a table of five and three of us ordered there three course menu and others order only two courses. The staff could not figure out that they should have kept the menue in the same order for everyone, first the appetisers, followed by thesecond course then main. What happened was they brought the appetiser for three and the second course for others which through off the schedule and appeared to have significantly delayed one main for one of us. In short the main course showed up so late two people had to leave the table because they were being eaten by mosquitoes while two of us had two wait for their main. If the poor serves was not bad enough when a second bottle of the local wine was requested they only then informed us they did not have another bottle. One would have thought that with a table of five guest they would have informed the table when they brought us the first bottle that they did not have any more in stock and that if we planned to have two bottle we may want to make another selection. When I raised my concern with the service, late service of the main for the final two guest with the manager she simply did not want to hear the issues and proceed my credit card with no remorse. We will never return to the restaurant and I will be more than happy to post about the poor attitude of the manager. The other issues would have been forgiven but the managers attitude and lack of apology simple cant be overlooked.

Outstanding restaurant in a beautiful town near Barbaresco. We stayed in one of the rooms also, and…read moreit was well appointed with a temperpedic mattress (though the walls were a little thin). Though fixed menus sounded good, this was a rare time to go a la carte to choose favorites. We were in the mood for some foie (though it was white truffle season), and a highlight was the risotto dish with a substantial portion (the only downside was that there is a minimum order of 2 portions of any risotto, and it would be better suited for a table of 4 - this filling dish made it impossible to finish everything else). The room itself was incredible and the service was flawless (a Spanish student interning here from the Philippines was a star). My only minor disappointment was that with so many awards for wine, it was very hard to find "finds" (bottles with some age at a good price) - there were pages and pages of options, but only a handful at 50€. In contrast, the evening before I had an excellent 2013 barolo for 58€ - here it would be 3x as much. The selection of "amuse bouche" surprises and petit fors at the end were exceptional. This really could be a 2-Michelin star place, not just the 1-star it currently has.

When we entered the dining establishment we were warmly greeted like we were family returning from a long journey. The Michelin rated chef greeted each person and sat at some of the tables like he was welcoming them home. Thomas had the full seafood tasting experience and I had a vegan experience. They matched us course for course. Being vegan this just doesn't happen but it did. I can't even begin to describe how it felt to be included. I was so very touched and grateful. The dining room is exquisite and the service is over the top and welcomed. I highly recommend and it is worth the drive no matter how far away. Again, I felt like I was dining among the gods or heavenly angels. It's a Michelin rated chef so yes the food is out of this world and I are pairing that were positively top-rated and I would return for immediately. I can't wait to return! Thank you for the experience and I can't wait until the next weekend of activities and adventure.
