Excellent coffee This is a very popular spot and there's always a queue, but the queue seems to move very quickly. We just ordered coffee (capuccino) and it was very very good - with none of the bitterness that we usually find in Italian coffee, but we could have done with an extra shot!
There was HUGE line outside when we came by, but luckily if you order to go you can skip it all. I just wanted to try the pistachio croissant, so we went straight to the counter to order that. The croissant was flakey and buttery, with a good portion of pistachio cream inside. It was spot on in flavor - deep pistachio flavor with no artificial taste, and was not too heavy either. This was so delicious! Italy does pistachio right.
Very fresh. Coffee was spectacular. The first sip I told myself I probably want a second one. I ended up not ordering more coffee because I was so full. The Almond Croissant was flaky and soft. Very good. Although the line was long. Once we were seated service was fast. Food was delivered very quickly. There is not much seating but they are very efficient. So far, best place in Rome we've had breakfast.
These were the best croissants I had in Rome. Don't let the line discourage you! We skipped the wait for a table by opting for the counter, and were served almost immediately. Would recommend for quality pastries and coffee at a very reasonable price
Hello everyone! Truly hope you find yourselves having an awesome time in Rome. So we have been to Rome a few times and on this occasion we dropped in to spend a few days after finalizing a cruise through Portugal, Spain and France that was amazing. We decided to take a Hop on Hop Off on our first day in to just take it all in (as we were traveling with family that had never been) and decide what we wanted to focus on and as expected, we all eventually started getting pretty hungry! No need to worry as we are in Rome and food is a no brainer. So we hopped off at the last stop, pulled out the trusty Yelp app and looked for something local and quaint within walking distance and in short order we were on our way to Barnum Roma. I have to say that Barnum Roma is situated on a very quaint street in Rome and this is definitely a locals hangout. They have indoor and outdoor seating and was very busy which is always a good thing. They had a pretty wide selection of baked goods, cafe options and the food was simply amazing. Everything was very fresh and the service was excellent as well. Now we did have to wait a bit but it was well worth it. If you like "Al Fresco" definitely recommend sitting in their outdoor seating area adjacent the cafe. In typical Rome fashion, you really do not want to be driving around the City as parking is a nightmare so definitely UBER, walk or catch a local Taxi. Hey your in Rome so you may as well stoke up a conversation with your driver and make some friends. Overall, we really had a great experience at Barnum Roma and the prices were not bad at all and the quality of the food was great. Seems like they may be a local business as well so if you want to try a nice local Cafe, you should head on over and check them out. Wishing you all a happy and safe time in Rome! Barnum Roma is a popular cafe in Rome, they were already quite busy when we arrived at 10:20 AM. The cafe isn't too spacious, so it can be quite a wait for a table, we opted for take-out. The service was friendly and they had a worker by the door making sure everyone got their takeout order. They had a nice selection of pastries and I got a Danish with seasonal fruit and a shot of espresso. I enjoyed the Danish although it was a bit difficult to eat standing without getting too messy. The espresso was also a nice boost to a long day ahead. Pro-tip: order the coffee to drink at the bar, you can finish it pretty quick, especially if it's just a shot of espresso. Overall, I enjoyed our pitstop at Barnum Roma for pastries and caffeine.
We found this place online and it had pretty great reviews so decided to give it a try. We went three times during our stay in Roma. All times there was a line to wait to be seated since it's walk in only but it seemed to move quickly as people are constantly coming and going. Everyone spoke English and were very friendly. The first time we went, the food was a 3/5. I got the Uova strappazzate con verdue, sticks di formaggio, hash brown e toast with a cappuccino. We also got the pancakes and bagel with cream cheese & honey. This is when we learned what we actually should order when we come here. The food I got wasn't my favourite, I posted a picture for reference. The pancakes were alright but they came with caramel instead of the classic Canadian maple syrup. However, the bagel!! The bagel with cream cheese and honey was perfect. Surprising, right?! The second and third times we went, we had our order down packed. We got the toasted bagel with cream cheese and a side of honey with the jasmine tea and let me tell you, it was amazing! We also tried the scrambled eggs and they were yummy too. We seemed to have started a trend because by the third time, the servers and staff recognized us and memorized our order and also told us we started a trend because now people were ordering a bagel with cream cheese and honey after seeing us do it. Now, I'm a coffee addict. However, get the jasmine tea here!!! It smelled so divine and tasted even better. To the point that I asked one of the servers if I can buy the tea but they kindly told me the store they get it at (which I also wrote a review on). All in all, lovely staff and good company! The food is good depending on what you like but be sure to ask them questions and maybe even look at online photos.
Long line for seated breakfast so we opted for take away. The most flakey croissants and delicious espresso. Went back the next day in hopes of a seated service. Still a like but moved quickly as they had additional outdoor seating across the street. Scrambled eggs were soft and moist. Toast was full of whole grains and seeds for those who love a hearty bread. And we of course took away another croissant!
Great place for tourists looking for an all american style breakfast with eggs and bacon. Definitely satisfied the craving.
Delicious cappuccino!! There is one line for to go / counter and another to sit in. The sit in line was long on Sunday morning but the to go counter was not bad. Espresso was good too. They have a lot of specialty coffee options available. Pastries looked delicious but I did not get any -- next time!

There is always a wait here but the line moves quick. We lined up (by we I mean my husband stood in line while I went to at all the boutiques in the lane) and got a table in 20 minutes. Got the coffee, croissant, strawberry danish and breakfast platter - everything was brilliant! Their croissants are comparable to the ones I've had in Paris and rightly so because they get their ingredients from France. The danish was to die for - probably the best bread and cheese together with the perfect strawberries - ah! The breakfast plate came with hash browns and veggies - those were delicious too! My husband is not a veggie person but he devoured them. Highly recommend this place for breakfast when in Rome.

I looked for breakfast around the area, something light to munch on, and came across this restaurant through the yelp reviews. This café is worth the reviews and so much more. I walked in and was greeted by a staff member who also opened the door for me. The ambiance was simplistic, modern, and clean. Such warm hospitality and everyone was so nice. You could either sit or have your items to-go; service was quick! As for the pastries, there was so much to choose from. I went with the pain au chocolat and almond croissant. Those croissants were the most buttery and had the crispiest layers I've ever tasted. I'm not really a coffee person, but their cafe latte was so creamy and smooth that it changed my mind. Definitely worth the walk. :) read more
WOW! Now this a semi-american brunch spot but it is absolutely amazing and worth the wait! They have beautiful pastries which fresh fruit that will blow your mind for how good it is. The cappuccinos are made so well and this spot is definitely cozy! I got the chicken breakfast sandwich and it was HUGE! it's a double decker sandwich made to perfection and i definitely could've split this with someone but it was worth every bite. the staff is very friendly and accommodating and i wish i would've gone back for a second time! read more

Stopped into Barnum and was seated quickly and given time to look over the menu. The waitstaff came over and was attentive to my order and even asked if I had any food allergies! The food came out quickly and was just what I needed before going to the Trevi fountain. The chocolate chip cookie was WONDERFUL and the eggs and toast were well cooked. The restaurant was clean and organized! I hope I can go back soon! read more

Barnum is a great brunch spot! The food is incredible and the pastries are so delicious as well! I do recommend coming here, there is always a line but it's worth it :) the staff is very friendly as well! read more

First breakfast in Rome. As a breakfast girlie, I was on the hunt for a place with the holy trinity : eggs , bacon, sausage . I was so excited I found a spot that wasn't just croissants and coffee! Be prepared to wait as there seems to be a lack of places who serve eggs in the morning in Rome as any sort of traditional breakfast seems to not be popular. However, there is a degree of popularity because we waited over 30 minutes to get a table on a Tuesday morning. Once we sat down, it was understandable. We had a chocolate croissant, which was amazing a chocolate chip cookie, which was incredible and the avocado toast with three poached eggs and lox was absolutely ridiculous. Will absolutely come back to this place it's an elite gem and one of the few places who actually serves eggs. Their entire menu looks incredible. read more
One of the best breakfasts in the heart of Rome. If you're looking for something g more hearty than a pastry, look no further. They had a great selection of toasts, egg dishes, pastries, coffees, and sweets for you to start your day off with. I came here every morning during my stay at a close by BNB. The restaurant is bustling, clean, and has a playful ambience and decor. Many friendly staff who are able to help whenever called out to, and the coffee baristas at the bar were really friendly and gave some good recommendations about what to see in the city. Food: -Salmon gravlax with egg, herb butter and rye bread (5/5) - like a DIY egg Benedict with poached egg and thin slices of salmon. -Ham and Cheese Omelet (5/5) - the ham tasted so decadent, my husband got this one and I kept taking bites of it. -Yogurt with fruit (3/5) - lots of fresh fruit (65%) and green yogurt (35%), a very fruit heavy dish. The yogurt is also tart, which I wasn't really expecting. One of the better cafes in Rome! The atmosphere is casual but in a cool, artistic way. It's a small place so it can get filled up pretty quickly, especially on the weekends. We took our stuff to-go due to the wait, but the line usually moves fairly quickly (usually not more than 20-25 minutes). The coffee is great, and their pastries are so well laminated--they are AMAZING. We tried the fruit danish and pistachio croissant. Add this place to your list! read more

An extremely cute cafe in Roma! If you're visiting, you must add this to your list. It has a lovely vibe and delicious breakfast food (if you need a break from pizza and pasta LOL). The quality of the coffee is excellent. The decor is a play on Barnums circus :) The staff was so nice and accommodating of allergies and restrictions (they even gave me a sample of their cold brew to try). We made it to Barnum this morning. The wait for a table was about 10-15 minutes. The breakfast was really good, tasty, authentic, and although my bread ends were hard, I managed to cut through them. The atmosphere is chic, but fun for couples, individuals, and family with or without kids. The wait staff are nice and eclectic. Love the vibe. And left with lemon curd and Chocolate Caramel croissants, for the birthday dude in my life. lol. read more

Don't let the short line outside steer you away from saying here! The place is adorable with a very natural ambiance. Not only was the food absolutely delicious, but I came here to drink matcha after not having it all vacation. My grandma spilled hers on accident and they brought out a new one without us even asking. This place is seriously a gem in Rome and is a must try for amazing breakfast/brunch!!! read more

We arrived here based on on yelp reviews. There was a 30 minute wait to be seated. There is outdoor and indoor seating. I had a Caffe latte and the pancakes as I was missing my American style breakfast. The pancakes did not come with butter and syrup but instead came with salted caramel and a whipped cream (I was in Italy so expected some sort of switch up) not a huge deal but not like home either. The croissants were really good and the coffee was good as well. They also had fresh squeezed OJ. The ambiance was ok just seemed a bit too busy for my liking. 3 out of 5 stars because I'm a fair grader. Decent food, good service, but would not go back or wait for it. read more

Delicious food, kind staff, cozy spot. We showed up around 10am and waited 40 minutes to be seated. I would say, after eating here, I didn't feel like this place was any better than other breakfast spots close by; there's several I've tried and would give 5 stars. I say this only for those who come during busier times and don't have time to wait. I do believe there are other options and you wouldn't be "missing out" by visiting another local breakfast spot. Also, important to point out that the line is for table seating. There was no line for take away. read more
I'm so HAPPY I came across this place!! The staff are extremely helpful with explaining the menu and are very polite. When I say EVERYTHINGGGG we ordered was amazing it literally was! They also speak Wnglaih really well. They are soooo accommodating and friendly. They have very minimal seating inside but they have a ton of outdoor seating on a little terrace across from the restaurant. We ordered Matcha Latte which was delicious and super cute(the latte had a design). We also ordered their Barnumburger, Wok, Club Sandwhich, and a plate of pancakes that came with fresh fruit and scrabbled eggs with bacon and toast, and Baccala which was this crispy fresh taste. FYI get here earlier than 12:30 if you want breakfast. If it's a big table you have to order from one menu you can't do breakfast and lunch. This is a casual spot but very affordable and tasty. I HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend this spot. Great for brunch and/or lunch. Nothing less than wholesome fresh ingredients. read more
They open at 8am but I would recommend getting there a few minutes before because they filled up quickly. The servers were friendly and welcoming. Their portions were a little larger than every other Italian breakfast place during our vacation. Our meals were very flavorful. This place was such a great find! It's like a 15-20 minute walk from the Trevi fountain but ideal to get away from the large groups of tourists. There was a wait when we got there but it moved fast. We went for breakfast and man did it hit the spot! We LOVED our meals, the coffee was excellent, the food was delicious, and the pastry brought it all together. Star was very sweet and accommodating. There was a queue when we arrived so we took that as a good sign. We ordered coffees while we waited and most of us ordered another when we were seated. The food was great and the service fast. Perfect stop during a busy day in Rome. read more

People have said this is a tourist trap, but I think the opposite. The area is small and has an old aesthetic which I love and is very clean! We waited in line for about 50 minutes, however it was worth it. They have seats outside under a tent and seats inside, and the waiters were very sweet. The food was amazing! We couldn't choose so we got multiple things to share, and nothing was bad! It was the perfect serving as well, we finished every plate. Definitely recommend if you're looking for a great brunch place and are willing to wait a bit! read more
