I was really looking forward to trying this place but the food here is not good at all, I don't think anyone at our table liked their dinner. The pizza was giving frozen, the bolognese sauce had no flavour, and the ravioli was inedible due to the weird aftertaste of gasoline? Based on that, the food is severely overpriced, $120 for 2 entrees and 2 drinks. Would never go back here and do not recommend. read more

Last night my boyfriend who works out of town was finally home after three weeks, and we decided we wanted to out to a fine dining restaurant for dinner, just the two of us on a romantic date. We had reservations at another place, but when we walked in it was loud and there was a a wait, so we decided to try another restaurant and stumbled upon La Casa; and that was the best choice I made that night. We had no reservations, but there wasn't a wait and the waitress who seated us joked with us as she sat us down, we waited a minute for her to grab menus, and that was it. Our server came around and poured us water, greeted us and asked if we had any questions, pointed out the drink menu and gave us a few minutes to look. She was on top of everything, recommending items, being honest with us with wait times for the time the food needs to cook, etc. She then took our drink orders, our appetizer order and we browsed the menu again for our main meal. We started with a brushcetta, and then I ordered the Ricotta di Pasta and my boyfriend ordered the Beef Tenderloin. They also served us fresh hot bread with a spicy garlic butter, it was delicious. Our brushcetta then came out and it had a delicious pesto and balsamic reduction and the flatbread it was on was just perfect; about 15 minutes later our actual meals came out, they were hot and everything was perfect. My boyfriend asked for medium rare and it's exactly what he got, the Ricotta di Pasta was hot, flavourful and very filing. The servings were more than enough and I brought some home. The whole ambiance of the place was perfect, there were several groups talking in the background, but it wasn't so loud you couldn't hear yourself think. I love places that have this kind of ambiance, I felt relaxed and I enjoyed every moment of my meal, and it was such a great experience. Our server was on top of everything. She was personable and friendly, joked and conversed with us. This was an absolutely perfect experience and I definitely recommend this place to everyone. read more

Let me start by saying what a great meal! The setting was perfect for a romantic date on a Friday night; raining cats and dogs, roaring thunder, blinding lightning, and a dimly lit restaurant that smelled like fresh bread. The menu is impressive. We started with a pear and Parmesan salad with a honey mustard vinaigrette. Hands down one of the greatest salads I've ever had. It was a mountain of pale, pale frisée with slices of poached pears, large shavings of parm, roasted pecans and a very light but distinct dressing. Fantastic. We then had the meatballs on sourdough. Not too impressive for me since the meatballs were tough and had too much red pepper. The sauce was loaded with garlic, too, which I didn't quite get. They sat on a slice of thick sourdough, which in the end tasted like any other bread since it quickly soaked up the sauce. Not the best appetizer. For my main, I took the rack of lamb on a bed of ratatouille and fingerlings. Lamb had a pistachio and hemp seed crust, which sounds amazing but I couldn't find too much of it on the meat. Regardless, the dish was absolutely breathtakingly good. My girlfriend had the lobster pasta and it tasted like a 5 star dish. Slightly spicy, very generous portion, and the pasta had the perfect bite that only fresh pasta has. Win. I would not hesitate to take a date here. Good food, amazing customer service and owners, and a nice selection of wines. read more

Went there last night for the first time with two girlfriends. It was very cozy cute busy place. They had a jazz band playing which was great! Our service was super! It's hard to find good service in this city but last we had it which made the night even better. The menu was good lots of great items to pick from and the featured items all sounded very good. We all loved the food and our drinks. I can't wait to go again with my husband. Very good spot for a nice meal. read more

Darlin was an amazing server, she is so funny, sweet and has such a good energy, perhaps I have heard so many good things about the restaurant it was really disappointed. The restaurant is so overrated. I'm a big fan of Italian food and pizzas, and the pizza they serve in this restaurant is far to be an Italian pizza, I can compared this pizza with the one I bought at Costco. I went with a big group an everyone order something different, any of them finish their plates except for the one who order the salmon, which was really good. Caesar salad was also good and flavory, but the rest of the food was not worth the price. I have high expectations and I left really disappointed from this place, there are many Italian restaurants in London with so much high quality of food and some of them for half price of this one read more

If you come here when there's something going on at the Bud(JLC) you need to make reservations and expect a very busy place. The staff is well prepared for this of course so everything went smoothly in a hectic atmosphere. We started with the antipasti platter and we all very much enjoyed the smoked trout. The platter is not something I'd order again though, just not my thing. I went with the pasta of the day which was scallops, peppers, asparagus, double smoked bacon fettuccine in a saffron cream sauce. I love scallops and asparagus so the minute I heard that, I was sold. Overall it was tasty but not worth the price. The seared scallops saved the dish but just barely. In hindsight I should've went with the mushroom ravioli because THAT is my jam. Trust the gut people, trust the gut. My mom's beef tenderloin was amazing. Cooked perfectly and served with creamy mashed potatoes. The Portobello mushroom on top was a nice surprise. My sister got osso buco with quinoa spaghetti, (she's gf) and the tiny bite of the veal I had was devine. So I think the chef is just better with meat based dishes. Strawberry cheesecake for dessert was smooth and creamy but not melt in your mouth to die for. Also not worth the price. And my sister told me she has had better creme brulee. So bottom line, it's a really nice place with some solid flavours and hopefully you pick the right dish to perfect the evening. read more

The antipasti appetizer was very good. The entree was good. But the service was glacial. When you're charging this much - and my customer deserved an expensive dinner AND good service - you need to provide the service with it. My customer waited like 8 minutes for his beers. It was sad service. The bill arrived VERY promptly. How interesting. But the beers were very slow, the wine very slow, and the place was nearly empty. I had to get up to search in a 15% full restaurant once for the waitress. The bartender helped her. And they were very friendly, so the slam is just the service. read more

Consistently good food. Honestly, I don't know why I don't make it here more often. They have an appetizer and main lunch special. Service is always excellent. Never any trouble accommodating my allergies. Seating options include banquettes, tables and a tiled bar. Cozy fireplace. Nice tableware and linens, but not overly formal. Large wine list. Located across from the market, so an ideal choice before a game or concert. It's been around for over twenty years. Great for entertaining older people as it is wheelchair accessible and there isn't blaring music. read more

We ordered the mahi mahi on quinoa with mango sauce, and the veil. They were both awesome!!! Blueberry cheesecake was so good, with a perfect crumbly crust. Place is a mix of casual and lightly formal, which made it nice. Portions were very fair, not too much and not too small (coming from a person that eats a lot). Prices are ok for the quality and amount of food you're getting. Service was really good as well. Would definitely recommend. I only give 5 stars to places that blow my mind for whatever reason. Great service and delicious food. The antipasti platter appetizer was enough for 6 people. It included pickled vegetables that had one of the best pickling flavours I've ever tasted. We tried this place for the first time, a few days ago. The atmosphere is very cozy, it has an elegant warm, atmosphere. The service was outstanding, with our server being right on top of things as soon as we arrived, as we were in a hurry to go to hockey game. He made recommendations and outlined the specials, one being the minestrone soup, which came hot, spicy and laden with something different, chicken. Delicious. My partner ordered the salmon, which came as a large portion and was grilled to perfection, served upon root vegetables with a light sauce. Just fabulous. I ordered the Veal Milanese, and it showed up with two nice pieces of grilled veal atop a delicious mushroom and potato patty. The veal was underdone for my taste, and was my fault, as I did not tell the server. A quick toss on the grill brought it back to perfection. It had a tasty glaze, and was totally delicious. Bottom line: expensive, but worth it. Location is great, right downtown and atmosphere was excellent. Service was top notch and very courteous. Also had a nice wine list, however we enjoyed a couple of nice wines by the glass. read more
