I'm sorry that we stopped for a fry. The person working was clearly unorganized and not prepared…read morefor the business day. She was clearly preoccupied with a personal phone call. She took our order ,very simple , two poutines nothing fancy. She was out of other menu items (Monday opening) but had an excuse she had to go into Calgary to get them. Once the order was taken after a few minutes proceeded to tell us she was out of propane and had to go get another tank and install it. This was the beginning of the opening of the business, how could she not know. We were not in a big hurry so fair enough we would wait for out freshly made poutine. NOT!! The fries spelling correctly were at least a day old refried. I know this because one of my jobs was a fry truck attendant back in my early years. So my knowledge of a freshly cooked fries is fairly accurate. I beg and implore you as consumers of decent food keep driving. Save your hard earned money and spend it where the person serving is invested in her job and has a moral obligation to serve decent food. If you are the owner please revisit your work ethics and practices. If the owner reads this please take time coach and observe your staff she's not the one. This happened yesterday 100520 just after opening we might have been her first customers of the day. I know I could have returned the food too the window but I felt like her lack of care to prepare and present decent food would have been met with less then any concern for doing the right thing.

I've eaten from this truck many times and will definitely go back! I'm sure I've had everything on the menu by now but my favourite, if I had to choose just one, is the short rib poutine.

Lil' Truck on the Prairie is everything. I cannot adequately express how enamoured I am with them…read morebut I'll try. We hired Lil' Truck to cater our wedding and they're food was the one thing that kept us from eloping during our wedding planning experience. They hand crafted a menu to suit us specifically and it was the number one thing we bragged about to friends before the event and after. They were able to meet every single dietary restriction but not only that, they did it well. The vegan/vegetarian options were arguably the best on the menu which is rare and hard to accomplish especially when it comes to a big event (and it wasn't pasta!). When I say that I also want to highlight how good their meat mains were too. All the carnivores where just as satisfied as the vegans, which is no small feat. They thought of absolutely everything when planning our wedding and made us feel more like friends than clients. I also appreciated their focus on local and sustainable food sources but while also taking into consideration our (meagre) budget. They made all our food dreams come true. They served our 175 guests cocktail hour, dinner, dessert, AND midnight snack for less per person than an average prime rib dinner. While making each aspect of the event accessable and enjoyable to absolutely all dietary choices, minimizing waste, and focusing on local and sustainable food sources. What more could you possibly ask for?

The restoration of the double-decker is truly impressive and ultra modernized. The entire bottom level houses a full kitchen with an ordering window. On the second level, you'll find a gorgeous dining room that seat sup to 20 people with contemporary furnishings- hardwood floors, floral arrangements, a hydraulic roof that raises, views of the mountains, and they even managed to fit a four person booth! The attention to detail is remarkable. They had me hooked when I saw they have prosecco on tap. Folks can choose from a grab and go menu, at the ordering window or they can enjoy a full service meal upstairs in the dining room. On our visit it was pouring rain, so the patio seating wasn't available while we were there for lunch. The lunch menu is a fixed menu that comes with your choice of a main course, side, and a small dessert for $30, $35 if you order a beer or glass of prosecco. The menu is small but it packs a punch. Our group of four basically ordered almost all the items on the menu and of course I got a taste of it all. I ordered the soup to start. It was carrot that day and it was delicious, but it could have been served warmer. For the main, I ordered the PD3 Bahn Mi-which is pork done three ways- it was layers of bacon, pate and mortadella. The ingredients were super fresh and the bread was delicious. Other orders at our table were the Burrata, Grilled Cheese and the Tuna Poke, so like I said, we ordered every entree on the menu. Our favorites were the Burrata and the Tuna Poke, but each dish was flavorful and beautifully presented. The sweet of the day was a cookie, but they had sold out so we got to enjoy cupcakes that they had baked for a catering order. This spot really elevates the culinary scene in Canmore. I hadn't been back in almost five years and seeing this addition to the local business community is really awesome. I highly recommend PD3. I'm looking forward to checking out the Yugo Eat food truck next time! PD3 basically offers three dining experiences on the property- There is another small truck that offers gourmet Asian style hot dogs, tacos from the ordering window of the double-decker, and the prix fixe menu on the top level of the double-decker.

Imagine my happiness as I strolled outside to see the Holy Smoke BBQ truck. FINALLY here was my chance and the line wasn't enormous yet. Amazing meaty smells wafted at me as I waited to give my order, I told the guy operating the till that his truck smelled wonderful. I think I scared him slightly. I got the pulled pork meal, all the meals come with your choice of side: potato salad, coleslaw, baked beans, but I opted for the corn bread. They were super quick with doling out the orders, once you receive it you can shimmy three steps to the left and put on all the BBQ sauces. I swear there are at least 15 options of sauces ranging from spicy to sweet and even some smoky sauces were available. I lathered up my pulled pork bun and found somewhere to sit and eat. I was not disappointed in all the hype I have heard of Holy Smoke from my husband. Glad to see the food truck incarnation holds up to the restaurant. Moist delicious pork, great coleslaw topping on the bun (maybe don't order coleslaw as your side), the sauces I had donned were flavorful and that corn bread. I could write a sonnet about that corn bread. As I ate it, I was ashamed I had baked corn bread the week before as it was an insult to this immaculate creation of corn and flour. Please come again to FMC, Holy Smoke!

Here we are, back in Cochrane, again for hockey and found this gem again!!!! Be prepared to wait as they are always busy and there's no drive through here BUT your coffee and food will be made to perfection! This visit there was a hiccup with their blender and it took 20 minutes to get the pineapple matcha smoothie but life happens. My Italian avocado toast with a poached egg was HEAVENLY. I looooove that they use sourdough! Hubs had their house roasted coffee and chose cinnamon hazlenut. Hubs only complaint (as a diabetic) is their only sugar substitute was sugar twin which is YUCK - truly. It would be better if they had Splenda. I noticed a sign that on Sundays they serve waffles! I bet it is lined up out the door to get a spot. The upstairs loft is adorable and great spit out of the hustle and bustle of the wrap around line downstairs. Oh and their house made baking is AMAZING! The HUGEST muffins you will ever see! Two Thumbs Way Up!
