WARNING: The cabbage salsa is so good (with the chips, of course) that if you are like me, you'll eat way too much! I love the taste of the food here. I've tried other Mexican restaurants in town (and there are a few), but they just don't compare. I LOVE the pork burrito tapatio (it has a green sauce on it), as it just melts in my mouth. I don't order the addition of rice and beans with the burrito, as there's rice and beans inside. When my children were young, I'd bring them here (regularly) and split the beef fajitas with my son. I'd end up eating all the veggies (mostly onions) and he'd eat all the beef. We'd love to hear the crack and snap as the pan was brought over to the table. My daughter would eat the cheese enchiladas. Now that everyone is grown up, I just eat the burrito tapatio, but it has to be the pork! I'm not sure about the other food here because I haven't deviated from my favorite for at least a decade, but no Mexican food anywhere has been able to come close to the pork burrito tapatio. Honestly, by far the best Mexican food in the area. I tend to try the special whenever I am here as I don't have a favorite Mexican food. Each time I eat it, I say to my wife, "Please make me order what you have every time." The special is only just OK. and I always feel that I am missing something. As my wife raves over the pork burrito tapatio with green sauce, THAT is what I need to order every time. Will I ever learn? I guess I should mention that you are served chips and two kinds of salsa while you wait for your meal, which usually doesn't take long to arrive. The cabbage salsa is my favorite as it always has a fresh flavor; however, I also like the regular red salsa as it often has a nice spicy flavor. The chips are warm and have great flavor. The servers are friendly and if you want to practice your Spanish with one of them, feel free as they will not laugh at your bad Spanish. They have wine and beer here, but I always order a Negra Modelo as it is the best beer to complement your meal. It is always served super cold with a slice of lime. We ate here with friends about a week ago and were quite disappointed. I had an enchilada & a chimichanga dinner. My husband had a burrito & taco dinner. My enchilada & chimichanga were identical! The cook didn't know how to cook them. I was very disappointed in the lack of preparation! I make enchiladas at home & what I had was not an enchilada!!!! My husband's burrito was dry with hardly any taste. We won't be going back. One of our friends had beef nachos & was happy with her meal. Our other companions didn't enjoy their meals either. Once again, I'm proud to announce, I was able to leave a 100% tip for Michael at La Casita. As I stated in the past 'I would do 100%, if I could get through a meal without one complaint from my wife'. What a wonderful time for us both, there was no wait to be seated, ordering was done promptly, food arrived quickly. Refills on drinks, salsas and chips came out right on time, without asking. Any questions about our orders came directly to us for clarification, not just someone guessing how we would like it. See, there really are people out there who care about their customers. The majority of the time I call it in and pick it up, and they have never messed up an order EVER. They have a newly redone site that is simple and you can see the menu there. Lots of combo choices. I ate lunch here dozens of times during my time in WW. It is perfectly acceptable tex-mex food. It is not brilliant, novel, entertaining, artful, or anything else, but just simple, good Mexican food. Expectations should reflect that. The service has always been acceptable when I've been there. I do like the chips and pico de gallo. This is the near worst Mexican Restaurants in town. My brother in law took us there today and the food was nearly inedible. Greasy tortillas poor salsas and refried beans that were marginal at best. If you want good Mexican food there are many other places. Try "Young and Pretty", my Granddaughter's name for this restaurant. Never had a bad meal there. Wow! I'm so glad I didn't check the Yelp reviews before my family and I stepped in to try this place-- otherwise we might have missed out on a really nice experience! We enjoyed differing specials of the day, my husband tried the seafood fajitas and he was impressed with how perfectly cooked the shrimp was; I tried the verde enchiladas with chicken and was delighted by them! Horchata is GOOD there and served in a generous sized glass. (Horchata is important to me at Mexican restaurants; they have my stamp of approval!) The chips and salsa were served promptly after being seated and we had finished them about 5 minutes before our dishes were served up. All in all, it was a great experience and we are pleased to have a place to go when we want to eat Mexican out on the town! This is our favorite sit down Mexican restaurant in town. The pico de gallo is so good. The ambiance is unique as it feels like a 1960's coffee shop with Mariachi music playing and Mexican decor. I think they are family owned and operated. The service is always fine. The shrimp fajitas are delicious with lots of fresh grilled veggies and plenty of tasty shrimp. read more

Been here a few times. There has been multiple times I have been that there's things floating in my water. It has to be food from other people's plates when they wash the jugs of water. Food is room temperature almost every time. Always get the same horrible waiter, never smiles, never is friendly. The whole service staff is horrible. They never seem welcoming or happy. They seem like they don't want to be there. One waitress even sighed when she saw me and my guest walk in. La Casita use to be an awesome restaurant 15 years ago. Seems like they don't care anymore. I am never going back. I don't know how this place is still in business. Seriously thinking about calling the health department about the water. Oh, and one last thing, this place is dirty. Used to be decent food, good portion size, good/quick service. Wondering if management/ownership has changed in the last year? Tonight was very disappointing. Take out order - food barely warm, one order had chicken partially thawed, once home find out one order incorrect. Was expecting an some sort of apology for having to return to the restaurant etc... no apology from anyone, and was actually told that what I received WAS what I had ordered-as if I wouldn't know what I ordered. No concession that the person taking the order might have misunderstood or wasn't paying close attention. All in all, 2 of 3 dinners were a bust (chicken one inedible), even after two trips to the restaurant. The food was excellent and was hot when it arrived. The prices were very reasonable and the fajita order was enough for two of us. The sangria was some of the best I've had, which surprised me. The waiter was attentive and the place was packed. It was typical mexican food...filling and tasty. I left my smart phone there by mistake and the next day (Sunday) when we arrived at the door to see if it was there...the owner met us at the door with phone in hand and a big smile. 1 star is an over statement! Gave them a second chance because we were told it's good...it's not. Rude service, half of our orders were wrong and server refused to fix the order. What we got were soggy flavorless ground beef tacos and cold beans and rice. We ordered shredded beef tacos when we asked the server why they weren't shredded beef he stated," We don't have shredded beef." I said,"that's weird I got the shredded beef last time?" He said "It's called picodillo." But, he did not offer to fix the order, so my wife said she did not want hers, he took it away and another lady deliver 2 new tacos she said she did not want them because of how rude the server was. She returned to the kitchen and started talking about my wife. My son and I each ate 1 of our 3 tacos and they were so bad we didn't eat anything else. My wife and I have over 15 years experience in the restaurant business I personally have worked every position in a restaurant starting as a dish washer when I was 15 years old. I have A high tolerance and realize some people can just be having a bad day, but this is the second time he has served us and been rude. Last time I took my normal approach and tipped 25% hoping to brighten his day, but I guess I was rewarding bad behavior. Today was the first time in my life I did not leave a tip. I would be ashamed to own this business with the employees they have working there. We could hear them talking about us in the kitchen. Now I won't say that this is the best mexican food in the world, but shoot we're in Walla Walla, how can you expect it. I think for the location it is pretty good. All my food was pretty tasty. Service was pretty good but this particular night there were only 3 parties in the room so there was no excuse not to get good service. Oh the Horchata was really really good. Fresh basket of chips were brought when we finished the first and we didn't have to ask. I tried to practice my spanish with the waitress but she only answered in english. Maybe because I'm of chinese ethnicity. You ever notice that some mexicans appreciate it when you attempt the spanish with them while some will get a look on their face like as soon as they walk away from you they are going to find your car and slash the tires. Someone told me this was their favorite Mexican food restaurant so I tried it. It was not good! I had chili rellenos. Now this is supposed to be an anaheim chili stuffed with cheese and then coated with a light fluffy egg mixture and then deep fried. This was horrid. It tasted like they had wrapped the chili in fried egg. The margarita was sub-par. I am not sure they put any alcohol in it! I will not go back here. read more
