My son begged me for some Colombian food. So I obliged before heading home and decided to try La Colina. This place is in the center of sweetwater where all the best fritangas exist. If you don't know fritanga that's the best nica food ever. It's located in a shopping mall but at night it's pretty empty except for the restaurant. Came in and it was fairly busy. The service was quick. I ordered two empanadas and my son asked for a hot dog and pan de bono. I think I must of asked for an empanada that wasn't made cause it did take about 15 minutes to get my food. I know sounds fast but there were people getting the food in like five minutes so mine in particular "took long". They were nice though and it was well priced. The Colombian empanada was so good. I got the chicken one. The inside was soft and moist and the outside was crispy. I also got a cheese one which I always get. Also super good. My son ate his hot dog and pan in 5 seconds. He said the pan de bono was outstanding. I will be coming back here. The food was good and the service was quick. read more

I ate there last week, I had a Colombian Empanada and a Venezuelan Pepito sandwich. I am an empanada snob, I always rate them when I try a new place. These Empanada's are a 9 out of 10, they are crispy enough ( if crispier I would have given 10 out 10), but what sets them apart is the meaty filling and the hot sauce. You get actual chunks of beef, like if it came from beef stew, but with the traditional Colombian empanada flavor, really good. Then I had the Venezuelan sandwich, it was like a burrito, but with a delicious soft bread that was warm and toasted, it had plenty of melted cheese , corn , steak and chicken , onions and not sure if it had peppers. For a late night spot this was pretty good. Food took a little over 15 minutes to prepare. I ordered the perilla mixta which was good. The sauces really make it. Since the food is fried it is definitely better dine in vs take out. The mango juice was fresh and just right (not too sweet). read more

Honestly 3 stars feels too low and 4 feels too high. La Colina is a solid 3.5. The Colombian hot dog is decent and the cachapa was ok, it was cold. The fresh juice is great and the service is quick. Wow what a great hole in the wall find! We got a carne patacon, a reina pepiado arepa and tequenos with 2 sodas for $27. The food was DELICIOUS! everything ws ssooo good. The patacon i always request extra sauce and then add even more sauce when it arrives. Also i add cabbage (repollo) which gives a great texture and normally comed with it in most other places.
