It's about a 20 minute level walk to and from the train station (though a bus goes up the main road if you'd prefer and you can get a taxi right outside the hotel if you want too. We had a suite which was smaller than I had hoped it would be, but was really nicely appointed with a view of the clock tower directly across from the window and the main square to the right. And it was in fact two rooms so we could close the door between the bedroom and have the living room for late night writing or email when the other one of us was sleeping. For the most part it was a quiet room though there were films showing in the main square every night we were there and the sound could be heard until about midnight in our room which wasn't ideal but that was also about when we were going to sleep so it worked out. Breakfast was great and our favorite hotel breakfast in Italy. They brought a basket of gluten free items for my wife and the subsequent days we were there they remembered us and automatically brought the gluten free basket and remembered our coffee order as well. Felt like very personal service. The staff was really nice too and gave us good restaurant recommendations. We would definitely stay here again.

The Palazzo is the nicest hotel in Livorno, and has been in biz for over 100 yrs. It has great views of the water fr the rooftop bar & restaurant. Single rooms were about €150,00 including taxes & fees. The rooms were spacious, and the bathrooms were good sized and inc a tub. We indulged in the bar & apps, bfast buffet and dinner during our stay. The service was excellent, but the pricing is high. For an example, an Americano cocktail was €18,00 vs elsewhere the drink would have been €8,00. Secondarily, the buffet is €22,00, but did not have made to order items. The scrambled eggs were runny, and the sausage were like hot dogs. I stuck to the charcuterie, boiled eggs, fresh fruit and croissants. I also grabbed take away for mija & ITC, that dropped the actual cost closer to €7,00/person. Lastly, dinner was +€100,00 for two entrees, a salad, a dessert and one glass of wine. All in all, a positive stay bc of the rooms, the location and excellent service. Apparently the Palazzo is popular for weddings and bachelorette parties too. I'm glad the Italian version of the latter are more tame vs the crap you see in Vegas - LOL!

There's also a fitness studio with technogym equipment and a spa (spa I haven't tried). The TV has a few international channels. Everything fancy shmancy, you could say. My boyfriend wants me to add: the toilet paper roll isn't properly attached to the wall and there is some mold along the bathtub.

Eggs made to order supplant the usual European sweets for breakfast. The staff is helpful, generally. I was in the lobby in the evening after a hot day, and saw during cocktail hour a table set up for hospitality. No sign. I approached for a simple glass of water, not bottled, just a glass. I was turned away. The host of the group (Architects) quickly solved the faux pas. Parking is safe, though the many guests jockey for spaces early. I recommend the facility for business travel. I did not have a chance to see if they have a business center, but they do have a spa which is nice. Overall, good place, attentive staff, and close enough to beaches and lovely (romantic) mountain rides west.

It was very spacious and clean, perfect for our family of four. There was a lift we could use in this building, as well as a washer and dryer in our unit and a full kitchen with dining area. The air conditioning worked great in hot July. The location couldn't be more perfect, right across the street from the castle and the main piazza. The innkeepers spoke enough English to get us checked in and make a few local recommendations, but I will work more on my Italian lessons for next time! The included breakfasts were so nice, lots of pastries, juices, and made to order cappuccinos. Honestly, this part of our trip was a dream, and I can't wait to come back.

Hey, Parma is a romantic city! There is typical Italian parking in front of and behind the hotel (= tiny places), but I always had plenty of room to maneuver a 5 series bimmer. The Venetian chandeliers are very beautiful making this a nice, small boutique hotel from which to base your business or tourist trip.

This made plugging in our devices a bit tricker, so make sure you don't forget your adapters if traveling from the UK or US. The breakfast can be added to your room for €15 per person, which we found worth it for the variety of items provided!
