I don't want to bore you with the sordid details as that would detract from the point of this review. Suffice it to say, I was paying for a plan through Covered California after being told I didn't qualify for Medi-cal. Then six months later, I received a not so nice inquiry from the state regarding my failure to enroll in Medi-Cal (which, ironically, is what I wanted in the first place). After weeks of independently trying to sort things out with Covered California and the state and getting absolutely no results, I finally admitted I needed help. I called NLSLA, and they came to my rescue. I want to give a shout out to Nancie Le, who was assigned as my attorney. She had me dropped from Covered California within a week and I was using my Medi-Cal benefits shortly thereafter. She was readily available for the next couple of months any time I encountered a snag in the system. I'm quite certain I couldn't have navigated these waters on my own. And I certainly never expected a FREE service to be so professional, responsive, friendly, and customer service oriented. They are absolutely the best. I would recommend them to anyone!
