My experience with their intake person, John, was nothing short of appalling. He was hostile, dismissive, and openly rude. When I attempted to seek legal assistance, he flatly stated that there was "no legal professional, no attorney, and no paralegal whatsoever" available to assist, before abruptly hanging up on me. This unprofessionalism clearly starts at the top. I have noticed a recurring pattern where Michael Simmrin himself will place "ghost calls" leaving missed calls with no voicemail or follow-up. In a field that demands clear communication, this "cat and mouse" game is a direct violation of professional standards and shows a total lack of respect for the public's time and legal needs. Do NOT be fooled by this firm's high star rating. It is my assessment that they are actively gaming the system by flagging and removing genuine negative reviews like mine to "scrub" their image. Meanwhile, the profile is padded with glowing 5-star reviews that appear to be curated from Michael Simmrin's own circle of friends and relatives rather than actual clients. Because a law firm is responsible for the conduct of it's staff (California Rule 5.3), and because of the failure to maintain honest communication, I am filing a formal misconduct grievance with the State Bar of California. She says , "he is a honest guy and never goes back on his word" I said well I hope so because I know the conversation we had was on the phone so there is no proof of our actual agreement. She said she will get back to me in a couple days Little side note on how my conversation went with Zimmerman on June 23 2021! He calls me and wants me to agree to xy I said I don't accept that but with further conversation him trying to scare me saying if I go to court that I can possibly get nothing , so we both come to a verbal agreement over the phone to xyz amount. He has me email him say "I agree" and I stupidly agree with no written agreement of the amount I will be getting . Fast forward to today I call because I never got a call from sandy the receptionist about why the amount was wrong. she says he said "he does not recall" . I ask , are your guys calls recorded ? She says no. She says I can call back in a week because he just had surgery?. I say what is me calling him going to do if he is saying he doesn't recall the conversation? The amount of money that is missing is a really big amount . On top of that they are trying to charge me for medical procedures that I didn't get! I will be reporting them to the bar for being dishonest and for fraud !

I was very particular about who I selected and I eventually chose Sergio and his team. They gave me a lot of good vibes and I respected their case results. What sold me was Sergio's work ethic and willingness to talk with me and learn more about the accident. He was willing to give me advice on what he would do and didn't try to sell me on anything, and I think that was a big reason why I ultimately went with him. He was genuinely concerned about me receiving the best available help and wanted to point me in the best direction, even if that possibly meant not being at his firm.  I sat down with Sergio and explained the accident to him. I was driving through an intersection when a truck suddenly turned across traffic in front of my car. There was no green arrow signaling that it was his turn to go. The truck driver later said that he was momentarily confused and didn't realize there was a left turn signal. After the crash, I saw how bad the damage to my car was. The entire front end was wrecked and crushed, a tire was at an impossible angle. The windows were broken and I knew the car was beyond any repair. My physical injuries were also painful. I had numerous lacerations and flesh wounds, a bad concussion, two broken ribs, and a broken shoulder. There was also a lot of soreness in my left leg and I had some damage to my ankle.  The truck driver gave me all of his insurance information and the name of the business he was driving for. The paramedics treated me at the scene but took me to the emergency room to make sure there was nothing going on they couldn't identify. The doctor said I would probably need to be kept in the hospital for some treatment, like fixing my ribs and ankle, but I would need to go through some physical therapy to make sure I didn't lose any range of motion. I wound up unable to do a lot of work in the classroom since I'm a teacher and had to take a few weeks away.  Sergio took my case and helped me handle the lawsuit. Initially, the claim was denied, but Sergio was aggressive and made sure to provide all the necessary evidence. The insurance company, he said, was definitely not trying to be helpful and was just trying to save as much money as possible because there was no way the company or driver wouldn't be found at fault. He said it was a common thing with insurance companies and all the money we were asking to cover different expenses was why they were so reluctant.  Sergio was to the point with me and was very patient when I asked him a ton of questions. I wanted to ensure I was making the right choice. I called him at different times and he was always willing to answer me, which made me grateful. As time went on and the claim was being negotiated, he gave me updates and more about where we were in the process. He and his team would talk with the insurance agent and try to get him to come up on the offer, and there would be a period of discussion. This was the longest part of the process, I was told.  After a few months, Sergio told me that all the arguing and negotiating had paid off. The insurance agency for the business was going to cover all my expenses as we requested. I had to be extremely careful with my budget and had already started making a payment plan for the hospital, but thanks to Sergio, I no longer had to worry about that.  He gave me the check the next time I made it into the law office. He said that if I ever needed to call him for anything related to legal work, I should not hesitate. Nearly three years after retaining this attorney and paying the full fee upfront, we are still dealing with the same fundamental concerns regarding communication, progress, and accountability. My husband has not received the meaningful progress we were led to believe we could expect when we initially retained this attorney. What makes this particularly heartbreaking is that my husband genuinely believed this attorney was going to help him. He held onto hope that his case would finally move forward and that there was a real possibility of coming home sooner. Watching that hope turn into years of waiting, uncertainty, and disappointment has taken a tremendous emotional toll on our family. I want to be very clear: I understand that no attorney can guarantee a particular result or guarantee when someone will be released. That is not what this review is about. My concern is the lack of communication, transparency, and progress we personally experienced after paying thousands of dollars for representation.
