Came by to study and just remembered that they have been renovating it. It's finally finished and it's very nice inside. Lots of study spaces and books. Very modern and a good place to get some work done

Nice place for reading and studying! They have Book Sale Saturday event which you can pick books you're interested in and pay $10 for a bag!!! Plus if you want to dispose old batteries, they have this battery tube for you to dispose them.

    huge cockroach in their toilet.

one story library with about 6-7 tables and maybe a dozen tables with mini desks to study on. it's quiet without too many disturbances and there are two private study rooms limited to an hour use at a time. restroom use requires you buzz in or ask a staff member to buzz you in. restroom and table surfaces are clean and they have a water bottle machine. minus the big huge cockroach in the restroom, this library is alright.

With the new and improved Library, I would definitely definitely come here to study! They have made the place brighter and the design has made it look bigger and more inviting. I love that the tables have built in sockets for electronic charging. The tables are big and the seats are comfortable. The ambiance is more opened that it was before. I'm really glad they revamped the place. Staff is friendly and with the do-it-yourself-check-out, it's convenient and time saving than waiting in line. There is also a reference desk person to help with finding books you want.

A very noisy, messy library in a bad neighborhood. Lowest quality ever! Can't enjoy the environment to study or what. Kids running around, librarians don't care at all! Worst library in LA country I have ever been !

The difference was immediate. The atmosphere felt calm, focused, and peaceful. It honestly felt like stepping into study heaven. For anyone who needs a consistently quiet environment to work or study, this has easily been one of the quietest libraries I've experienced in Los Angeles County. I spent many long hours here preparing for my medical board exams, so I really came to appreciate the environment. The layout offers a great mix of larger tables and individual study cubbies, and there are outlets available which makes settling in for long study sessions much easier. The library also feels very safe, likely because of its location next to City Hall and the fact that it sits a bit tucked away from the busiest parts of town. There are entrances in both the front and back, and I personally found the quieter seating area on the left side when entering from the back to be my favorite spot, especially the tables near the windows where you still get that nice natural light during the day. The staff has always been friendly and helpful as well. I believe one of the librarians named Jen really helped maintain a welcoming atmosphere. One thing I appreciate about this location is that they take maintaining a focused study environment seriously. For example, eating isn't allowed inside the library, which helps keep things clean and minimizes distractions. There is a garden area outside and you can always step outside for a quick snack break. After spending many hours here, I started to notice some of the daily rhythms of the building. The restrooms are impressively clean, which deserves a shout out to whoever keeps them maintained. The library also has a small bookstore run separately from the library itself, which is a fun little feature if you happen to stop by while it's open. If there were a few small improvements that could make an already great space even better, they would mostly relate to sound consistency. Because this is such a quiet library overall, small sounds can stand out more than they normally would. Occasionally conversations at the service desks or phones ringing can carry across the room, and sometimes outside maintenance work can be heard from the garden area. Nothing that ruins the experience, but little adjustments there could make an already peaceful environment even more ideal for studying. I also noticed that the closing announcements can be a bit startling if you're deep in concentration, so maybe a softer chime before the announcement could make it feel a bit smoother. Another thing that could help maintain the quiet atmosphere is occasionally reminding visitors with young children that certain sections are intended for quiet study. The kids' area is nicely separated, which already helps a lot, and a gentle reminder here and there would probably keep everything running smoothly. Overall, I'm genuinely grateful for this library. The long hours are fantastic. Being open until the evening made it possible for me to have full study days here when preparing for my boards. Yes, it was a bit of a drive from West Covina, but it was absolutely worth it for the calm environment and the ability to truly focus. Diamond Bar Library became one of my go to study spots, and it's a place I'll definitely remember fondly.

THIS IS NOT A QUIET LIBRARY…read more I've been holding off on writing this for a long time because I genuinely couldn't believe how consistently frustrating the experience has been. I come here often and stay for hours at a time to study. I'm not popping in briefly. I'm here working, focusing, and trying to use the space the way a library is traditionally meant to be used. I understand this is a public space funded by taxpayers and open to everyone. I respect that. But libraries also have rules for a reason, and here they are rarely enforced. That's the real issue. The open concept design might look modern, but it completely eliminates any sense of quiet. You can hear every front desk interaction across the floor. Phone calls, loud conversations, audio playing from devices, and people speaking at full volume are constant. Some librarians genuinely try to maintain order and I truly appreciate them. But others make no effort at all. Over time you start to recognize who will step in and who won't. I've had to get up and specifically find the staff members who will address disruptions. I should not have to do that. There is no dedicated quiet section. None. That alone is shocking. If you are looking for a peaceful study environment, this is not it. It feels more like a social space than a library. Food policies are inconsistently handled. I originally thought eating was allowed because everyone does it here, only to later learn at another county branch that food is not permitted. The rules technically apply here too, they're just not enforced. The same goes for phone use and strong odors, both of which are clearly addressed in library policies but frequently ignored in practice. The men's restroom also has a persistent odor issue. What makes this even more disappointing is that I've visited the Diamond Bar branch, which operates under the same county system, and the difference is night and day. The rules are upheld consistently and respectfully there. It's calm. You can study for hours without constant interruptions. That experience makes it clear that the issue here is not the public, but the lack of consistent enforcement and management. To be fair, there are positives. There are plenty of tables and outlets. The children's section is well designed and engaging. They offer programs for kids and adults, including community classes. The book sales are fantastic and affordable. And again, some librarians are helpful and professional. But the core function of a library should be to provide a space where people can read, study, and focus. When you cannot go more than 20 to 30 minutes without loud disruptions, that is a management problem. I'm not expecting perfection. Public spaces will never be silent. But basic rule enforcement is not too much to ask. If you want a quiet place to work, I strongly recommend going to the Diamond Bar location instead. The difference is immediate. It's disappointing that the library in my own city could be so much better with relatively simple changes. Consistency would fix most of this.
