Man, I really love Cal Poly's school library. My brother attended this University, and a few of my old friends graduated here. I used to also help friends study here. It's a big library with lots of books, computers, old magazines, and up to date magazines. Very very huge place to study. Nice professional staff to help out too. I'm a current student at Cal Poly and I always study here whenever I'm on campus. The library is huge and has six floors that students can study at or find research. In addition, study rooms are available but they have to be booked and reserved ahead of time. If you seek really quiet or near-isolated areas, the 5th and 6th floors are the places to go. Wi-Fi is complimentary in the library and I believe that you can also eat/drink inside. (Or at least that's what I do, haha). The amount and supply of library books and research materials are endless and superfluous. If you are a student who is looking into borrowing physical hard copies to support your research, I highly recommend the library. The library also has flexible and long hours that can stretch late into the night, which is perfect for those who are staying in to study. read more

Lovee studying here, it's so nice and I love the sofa tables. However...WHY DO PEOPLE HANG OUT IN THE LIBRARY?! It's like thee social spot or something on the 3rd floor common area. It's so loud, it echos throughout the floor and even the 4th floor. Once a group of girls even had music playing on their cell phone's speaker...I know for a fact they're not studying!! And it gets suuper packed around midterms/finals times. Other than that on a normal basis not around the 3rd floor window/table area it's a great place to study!! read more

So pretty and so cool! I loved studying here because it was quite and no one bugs you. They have a microfiche reader.

I'm not sure what's more annoying when I'm trying to study on the quiet floors: the people playing games on their computer and clicking their mouse and moving it around so that it echoes against the old wooden cubicles with the occasional HEY BEHIND YOU whimper, or the frat boys who are chatty cathys and love chatting about physics equations and what happened last weekend. Not too sure, which I find more annoying. Probably on a whole, they're all pretty annoying because I was under the misconception that libraries are for studying and not playing video games and chatting. At least not a university library that is suppose to be for higher education. Anyway, if you want to socialize or play games, why are you on the quiet floors? Reside yourself to the lower floors because you're just distracting others from studying. ESPECIALLY YOU, MR. UGLY HAT WEARING 5th FLOOR GUY WHO GIGGLES AND MOANS AND CHATS ON YOUR CELLPHONE. I swear, you do only about 1 hr of studying and the rest of the time you're watching something on your computer. Perhaps the latest episode of Community or something funny because you're giggling like a little school girl. Maybe you should resign yourself to the on-campus daycare center. What else is there about this library? There's plenty of space for everyone, but you may not get a power outlet, silence, a clean space, a comfy chair, or reassurance that your stuff won't get taken. I don't like this library, but at the same time, it's fine for what it is and I don't expect much. Only perk about this library is the free wifi as guest. Wifi is fast and you don't have to get a password or username. Lastly, I wonder if they ever clean this library? Bathrooms are consistently unclean looking and trash just remains scattered in the cubicles. I've experienced strange solicitation here too about donating to something. It's so strange and inconspicuous. Some young girl will approach me and speak to me in a different language and then show me a flyer which looks like disaster relief for Japan. Anyway, that's not too annoying, but mostly weird. read more

Surprisingly well-made library that most people can just wander into. There's a 24 hour computer lab situated near the back that, as the name implies, is always open. The facilities are for the most part, always clean and there's plenty of chairs and tables for you to get your work done. You can also rent out private rooms like you do in most libraries, that depending on the choice, will give you a TV (for presentation) or just an empty room with tables. I'm not going to talk about books because I haven't read a book in a decade, but I'm going to assume that because this is a library... that it has a lot of books. There's a Starbucks downstairs for your overpriced coffee fix, and modern classrooms without the idiotic Building 9/5 chair + table combo. And throughout, there is available Wi-Fi. But despite my praise for the one part of campus that's surprisingly well made, they had to go and ruin it.... The second floor, technically the first floor of the library, has tables near the back. Apparently it was logically decided that if you wanted to charge your computer equipment and what have you, you stuck your hand in a hole on the middle of the table, and crawl around with it, poking aimlessly at what you can't see until the magical three prong plug is firmly entrenched into the socket. How about, no? Then let's talk about the magical and wonderful self-study cubicles with no electric sockets? They're actually to the wall behind and next to you, just so that you can enjoy watching people trip. It is, after all, 2012 and not 1999 where peasants like us can actually afford a laptop for school. read more

Nice library and probably the best place to study at CPP. There are lots of computers if you need access to one. There are spots that can get pretty loud and places that are very quiet so whichever environment suits you while you're studying, there's a place for you here. read more

A good library in my former university. I have spent countless of hours working on the projects. I have also spend a lot of time, studying for midterms and finals. It is a great library with six floors. The fifth and sixth floors are quiet floors. So, in these floors I would study for finals, in peace and quiet. Other floors are good to study with other people. read more

This is the best library I have been and I go there three times a week. There are many computers for students to use. When I studied in the library, I felt very comfortable for me. There is so quiet that I can concentrate on my work. By the way, there is a Starbucks near by the library, I really like to buy some drinks when I go to the library! read more

I've only gone to this library on the weekends. Not a Cal Poly Pomona student. Likes: -Clean. -The library is quite big...4 floors to study. -Fairly quiet. -Starbucks on the first floor...always a plus when needing a study break. -Bathrooms are fairly clean. -Free wifi as a guest. And the wifi is quite fast too! Dislikes: -Not all tables/cubicles/sitting areas have outlets located near them. I consider this to be a problem since most students bring their laptops with them and will need them charged eventually. -At times you can hear people talking, which I don't understand why they just don't go into a study room considering many rooms are available on the weekends. Librarians and library staff are soooo helpful and down to earth! There is a space for everyone. The Learning Commons and Productivity Center have fast computers and comfortable chairs with lots of space. The study rooms are accommodating but be sure to reserve it in advance or you won't have one for final exam time! read more

I like this library even though it is always packed when you are trying to get a computer. Sometimes you even have to stand in line. The second floor is the loud floor so I doubt you'll get any studying done there. Get on the elevator and go to floors 4,5. Those are the quiet floors. You better not talk though because some nerdy library worker will come and tap you on the shoulder to keep it quiet. The view is nice too from the top floors. Comfy chairs. And if you have any questions the librarian at the help desk will be more than happy to answer them. Oh, there's also a writing center but I've never been. read more

I really love this library. I can really get into the zone and study for hours here. There are plenty of floors, tables, study rooms, computers, even floors that are completely quiet. I just wish it was open 24 hours 7 days a week. read more

Not a good library. Always very crowded and difficult to find a seat. Unbelievably noisy from gossipy students and the staff does nothing to control it. Cal Poly Pomona is designed to have "turn-over", meaning take your classes and leave so that parking spaces open up. The student union is dire and the choices for eating worse. read more

Really great library with a lot of places to get stuff done. It also has a lot of study rooms. It has pretty parts too with windows overlooking CPP. However, the staff working here is pretty mediocre. I've asked the circulation staff questions before and every time it's "Umm I don't know. Go ask the librarian." They also do not explain procedures very well either. The librarians are nice and helpful though. It's a very great place though! read more

Staff can be very helpful. Sometimes you will get someone that is having a bad day but overall they have always been nice and helpful. Level 2 is quite noisy so if you want silence go to 5-6. Nice views of campus. read more

The building entrance says library but apparently people read it as student lounge. Super loud in here during the day on the non quiet floors. I understand that the non quiet floors arent meant to be silent but it's still a library and it's meant for group study, not gossip. Other than that, they have comfortable furniture, fast wifi, plenty of outlets, and it's pretty quiet during non peak times. read more

I like the library here, the higher up you go in the building the quieter it gets (which is always nice). The computer lab is open 24/7 which is GREAT for students who need a computer or quiet place to study. The library is always clean which is a great plus! GO BRONCOS! read more

It's good place to catch pokemon. I caught a lot of pokemon at that place, so I recommend everyone to go there to catch pokemon. The library has a lot resource for everyone to use, and it's wonderful place to see beautiful girls on the campus. read more

I don't actually attend this campus but was happy that anybody is allowed to come and study here. The Wi-fi is free for guests which made the trip worth while. What is unfortunate is the fact that this library needs to be majorly renovated. The cubicles they have are not functional for today unless you only bring a book and paper to study with. The majority of students in the library now carry a laptop. The cubicles do not have any place to plug in your laptop in order for it to charge. The only outlets available are the ones on the wall, but you have to be pretty lucky to find one not being used. The chairs were really dirty and uncomfortable. Everything looked 15+ old. Some of the floors are musty, unfriendly and need a lot of work. I only went on floors 4 and 5 since they were quiet. I don't think this library is bad, but it definitely needs some changes and updates in order to meet student's needs for today. read more
