Before coming to Ottawa, I scouted possible restaurants to dine in on yelp, that's close by to my hotel (Motel Montcalm) in Gatineau, QC. Enter Restaurant La Creppa.
I was a little shocked that this place does not have any reviews yet! Thankfully then I bookmarked this place and it was a brief walk from my hotel. I arrived here at around 8:15 AM on a Thursday morning and the place was already pretty busy. One thing about this place is that they are bilingual. French and English is spoken in Quebec, so that doesn't change. It feels like being in Paris with everyone speaking French, but not really. Just in Canada. Restaurant La Creppa is known to the locals for its local comfort foods at affordable prices. Seeing that I came here at breakfast, The usual fee wrists are here for me to partake in. For me, breakfast that day, I went with the western omelet, which came with house potatoes, and a side order of pancakes. I also asked for a glass of orange juice. The ambiance here was casual and quiet. It was nice to just hang out and enjoy while everyone else was just starting their workday. It's nice to be on vacation.
Restaurant La Creppa was an average experience, to be honest. I probably came during the peak morning rushes. I didn't think they were that busy, but you never know after discovering one part of the restaurant is occupied, while the other half you're observing, not so much. Yes, they were busy that day, and I just happened to catch the slower than normal service. The servers were running around trying to do their best. I don't think I'm cut out for restaurant work, but that's just me. Restaurant La Creppa serves up familiar breakfast quality foods that the western world knows and appreciates. This American loves breakfast food for sure. Restaurant La Creppa is located at 106 Boulevard Greber in Gatineau. Public transit zips up and down the Boulevard Greber, so that's always a good thing. For the rest of us, rental cars and private cars are a must. There is private parking lot, so best bet is to get here early, so you can get the best seats for your dining pleasure.
Restaurant La Creppa does not accept American Express credit card, which is a little disappointing. Visa is somehow King up in here. The prices are kind of on par with what I've seen, but it's in Canadian dollars versus United States dollars. As mentioned before, the service was slow, but as I assumed before, it was decent enough to just be okay. The food itself was rather tasty and delicious, however, it wasn't mind blowing good. Just good and delicious. La Creppa is like any cafe you have in Canada or in the United States, but the main thing is that both French and English are spoken here. The restaurant is clean and very organized. I would recommend this place to anyone and everyone who would love to eat well and have a great meal in Gatineau, Qc
