J'ai pris des oeufs benedictines qui étaient delicieux. Le prix est très abordable. Le restaurant est grand donc tres peu d'attente et la decoration est impressionnante. Service rapide et attentionné. La tasse de café étaient chaude en tout temps. Vraiment bel endroit.

Your should mission, should you choose to accept it: to venture into Quebec to sample local culinary phenomenon "cretons", at the behest of Halifamous food blogger Eat This Town. Wait...cretons? Being the east coast anglophone that I am, this took some Googling. I mean, I'll try any food once, but I prefer knowing what I'm getting into before I do. I soon discovered that cretons is a Quebecois forcemeat along the lines of pate or liverwurst, a spreadable processed pork. Being the lover of meats in all its forms, whether on the bone, in a tube, or in the case, mashed up and spread on toast. My target was a Gatineau institution of sorts, apparently known for its cretons, La Station. Being that my apartment is in the Glebe, it was a bit of a trek to get to via public transit, but I enjoyed seeing a bit more of an area that I hadn't been through before. The restaurant itself is massive. A family restaurant/sports bar mash up with tons of booths and tables on split levels on the main floor, and more up on the mezzanine/second floor, although that was closed off at this time of day. The combined areas must seat close to 200, and the main level was still half full when I arrived shortly before breakfast ended at 11am on a weekday. The breakfast menu was fairly typical for a place like this, with omelettes, pancakes, and varying sorts of big breakfasts. One of the latter was my target, The Quebecer, as in addition to the usual eggs, meats, beans, home fries and toast, it came with a serving of cretons. Tacking on an extra order of cretons for good measure, and orange juice to drink, I was on my way. I was pleased that the orange juice was Tropicana and not an awful bottle of Fairlee, and even got gussied up a bit with a slice of orange to garnish the glass. My food came extremely quick, just minutes after ordering. The eggs were a perfect sunnyside up, with soft, but fully cooked, whites and big, runny yolks that begged to be sopped up by the toast and home fries. Said chunks of potato were wonderfully crisp and lightly seasoned, for all around solid home fries. I had went with breakfast sausage for my meat option, versus bacon or ham, and it did not disappoint. The skin was crispy, but not tough, and the meat inside juicy and packed the familiar breakfast sausage flavour that I love. The beans were a light brown, and were tender and slightly sweet. It may seem odd, but I am adamantly anti-roller toaster - those commercial monstrosities that toast bread on a conveyor belt. They definitely use one here as the signature burnt edges and surface are all too evident instead of a pleasant, even, golden brown of a good toaster. Luckily I had the aforementioned runny yolks to lend a hand, as well as the purpose of my visit, the cretons. Coming in small one ounce cups, the cretons was definitely not much to look at, though nor is its more high end brethren, pate and fois gras. An off-white/light grey colour, the meat spread easily on my toast, with just the odd bit of ground pork to distinguish it from a pure spread. It was very spreadable on my toast, although since I had a fair amount of it and wanted to try it on its own, I ended up eating some right out of the cups like a weirdo. It had a mild pork flavour that wasn't overtaken by the bits of onion it was minced with or its seasoning. Pleasantly salty, the seasoning was mild and hard to discern - a bit earthy, not particularly herbaceous. All told, it was like a slightly more oniony version of the liverwurst my grandfather used to have on his toast at breakfast, and I liked it. Service was great, friendly and didn't mind my English once I abandoned my meagre French vocabulary. They came to check in on me a couple times, and I saw wait staff going around for coffee top ups for the other patrons. It was cool to try a food that I hadn't heard of a week before this, and La Station pulled both the cretons and my breakfast as a whole off with flying colours. I've been here many times and overall, the food is good but I doubt you'll have anything here that will blow you away. They have reasonable daily specials at lunch time that include a daily soup. I had a Cajun chicken Caesar salad with a cream of red pepper soup for 12.99 and it was one of the better tasting dishes I've had here and the price is excellent. I've got to say though that I always love their daily soups and they put a doily under the bowl which is the icing on the cake. I'm a sucker for a doily! Service is always excellent and it's a large place that can accommodate a lot of folks. They do wood fired pizzas here too. I haven't tried one yet but they look quite good.

I agree with other reviews that it is not as good since it burned and reopened. The atmosphere and food has become a little more generic. It remains a good spot to go for a family meal as there are lots of options ranging from pizzas, sandwiches, burgers, brochettes to steak and the portions are good. The restaurant is huge so rarely have we waited for a table. I was here for breakfast recently and there are good combinations available for all tastes. I was very satisfied with my choice of 2eggs, choice of meat with waffles covered in fruit and served with crème anglaise. Definitely a good place to bring the family.

Unfortunately I made a mistake a made a pick up order of nachos with extra chicken from the restaurant. Nauseating is one way to describe my order of nachos that only had cheese, some tomatoes and no more than 10 tiny half-rotten green onions, chicken was obviously pre seasoned and meant for different dish.

The service is awesome. The food is really good. If you want to eat a good pizza on wood oven, it's the place to go. The steak is delicious. Every time I'm going there, I'm always pleased. Will definitely go back again

****UPDATED REVIEW***** I go there every time I stay at the Hilton by the casino. If you don't want to wait you absolutely have to make a reservation because on the weekend at dinner tome you can for sure have an hr wait. Best choice is the pizza Calabrese this is the best pizza I had EVER. Breakfast is good also, great portion and the price is pretty decent. I posted the original review 4 years ago and I have gone back any times after and had no complaints until I went on Tuesday on this week. Seems things have changed a little so I will drop a star. The service was not friendly like I am accustomed too. We didn't get anything we asked on the burger. We wanted tomorrow cabbage and onions and we got one with only lettuce. The crust on my pizza was so hard to cut because it was wet at the bottom and super hard at the crust. For me the service makes all the difference so even without the burger mistake I would of dropped that star.

Escargot, steak and nachoes! Excuse the snapchat text.

Family and I came here after a long drive from Toronto and wow were we hungry! Came here upon recommendation from my roommate when I told her we wanted variety. This place did not disappoint as there were many options to choose from, from burgers, pizza, entrees, shareables and more! We got nachos, escargot, poutine with smoked meat, side of fries, and steak. Our server asked us if we wanted the dishes to come out as they were finished, but we just said to bring it all at once. I thought it was great that they asked! Even so, everything came out in a timely manner. Everything was pretty tasty! I was skeptical of the escargot (first time eating it) and it was sooo good! I'm glad I stepped out of my comfort zone. My favourite was the poutine though! Would like to come back with friends for a drink or something!

Every time I have a special occasion to attend I go to Station. Not only is the food amazing but the staff are very friendly. The atmosphere is really nice too. I highly recommend it. Their pizzas are something you must try. Their burgers are juicy and tasty. I think I have had almost everything on the menu and I have no complaints about anything. 5+ stars from me

Cool place with some front window seats, 4 booths and a larger table that fits 10 or so people. Their specialty looks to be a juicy lucy aka patty stuff with cheese the melts when you cook it. I ended up getting a cheeseburger combo. The burgers are good. They're in tough competition with some really good burgers down the street...which are about $10+ more expensive though. Combo your meal for $4 which gives you fries and drink. I enjoy the fries as well. They also have some interesting sides like tornado fries, poutine, sweet potato fries and a few others which I think you can upgrade to. I'll be back to try other things but wanted to put it in your radar if you're in the area.

I didn't even know this was a thing before I stepped into this restaurant. The lovely lady at the front explained that it's essentially a halal way to have bacon, and it is pretty similar. Not quite bacon, but a good alternative. We added it to our burger but I ate it separately to get the full experience. I would go back here! Not sure I would add the bacon, but I would certainly enjoy a burger again.

The Long Version: My husband and I had lunch here. We shared a cheeseburger ($9.50), a chicken sandwich ($12.95) and an order of fries ($5). The cheeseburger was a smash burger with cheese, lettuce, pickles, onions and their burger sauce. There was too much sauce for my liking and the meat was too salty for my tastes, but other than that the burger was ok. The meat was smashed really thin and the edges were crispy. We enjoyed the chicken sandwich more. The chicken sandwich had a breaded chicken breast, coleslaw, pickles and chicken sauce. We got ours medium spice. It wasn't spicy at all, lol. The chicken was a good thickness and was tender and moist. We enjoyed this more than the cheeseburger. I liked that the bun they use is a plain bun without seeds in it. The buns were soft. The fries were a good portion size. I'm glad we shared one portion. They were hot and crispy and had the skins on. They were regular cut, not skinny, but not too thick. You order at the cash register, pay and they give you your order number. When your food is ready they call out your number and bring it to your table if you're dining in. When you're done, you throw out your own garbage and stack the empty tray on top of the garbage area. Service was pleasant and the food didn't take long. There are seats inside to dine in and also seats on the patio out front. There's a single universal washroom that is wheelchair accessible for the entire restaurant. Since the restaurant is small, I feel this was sufficient. It was clean. Street parking or paid parkade parking only. Review #187 (2025)

The quality, on the other hand, is not the greatest. I got the Green Monster with avocado, bacon, cheddar cheese, and roasted garlic and chili aioli. The burgers and toppings are fresh, but my bread was stale, and because of the size of the burger, the bread got soggy really fast and it all turned into a sloppy mess. The taste was pretty good but they were heavy on the aioli and I would have preferred the avocado sliced instead of made into a kind of mush. There were a ton of sweet potato fries, more than I would ever need as a side, but they were soggy and overcooked. I asked for a side of chipotle mayo for dipping - if the sweet potato fries were crispy, they would have tasted a lot better together. Overall, cost is higher than fast food but affordable, portion is huge, taste is good, but a pretty messy. Worth it if you're in the mood for a big, greasy, homemade burger!
