The food was beautiful and amazing! Best fish I have ever had! Amazing service, kind, easy-going, and they speak english and french. The outdoor seating is charming and clean. The inside has pretty tables and an entry to their own garden view. Please come here!!!!

3/24/24 - Enjoyed a lovely leisurely lunch here with friends with travel companions. Enjoyed the classic decor. Service was very good and so was the food. After walking a lot in busy Montmarte, we were happy to sit and talk. The restaurant wasn't particularly busy so it was a delightful respite with a good wine as well, from the very crowded Montmarte area.

We stopped here for a drink on a Thursday evening as we were walking in the area & looking for a dinner spot. Located in the heart of Montmartre it was one of the spots that had outside seating/availability. We ordered a couple of Amstels which our server mentioned was French (actually Dutch). Not much of a beer selection. It was loud, lively as we were in the middle of a section of outside seating surrounded by other restaurants. Music in the background. Table next to us ordered sandwiches and pizza and looked ok. Greeters and our server were friendly & attentive.

Tried this place for dinner after a long day. Service was decent. Food was okay and portions were good. It wasnt busy during the time we visited but due to its location (in Place du Tertre) it can get busy with tourists.

We stopped here for an Apple pie slice as part of our group to or. Had a cup of tea to go with it posted some pictures right off of the artist square

Ok, I know it's Montmartre and it is probably hard, nigh impossible, to find a still-good and authentic restau up here, but as were here and hungry, we took our chances. The place at least looked somewhat cool, as I love art nouveau... and it *was* interesting to see the semi-dapper dressed man who'd escorted us in shucking, deftly, my husbands oysters... beyond that and the two free, cute glasses of wine they give you when you sit.... this place really isn't worth it. The oysters were bland aside from salty as heck, and had lots of dirt in them. They came merely w/a lemon and no garnishes. My escargot would shame all of France. They were served in a nearly flavorless oil sprinkled with green herbs and barely a hint of garlic. Also, despite being truly empty, service was slow (not that unusual in France) but honestly they never really came around. (ie no water glasses) I will have to make up for this on my next trip and find a place meant to sell such things. The wine I bought was bland, my hubby had a Guinness so no issue there. Just, don't go.

Sitting on the edge of a square drinking wine while your wife shops. It's really hard to mess this up. They did a fine job on a mixed plate. (See photo)

Great place to dine and enjoy the time flow with group of friends or date. It is outdoor with shelter coverage, downside is table and seats are tightly squeezed in and you are almost feeling like sitting on top of each other. Food is very good - very basic item like rib eye steak with French fry were cooked right. Drink menu...wines yes, but beer selection is very limited. Waiter doesn't speak English or refused to speak English so best of luck to the non-English speakers. It is very touristy, and 99% of diners are foreigners but how often would you sit with real Parisians?!

Mesmerized by the beauty of the basilque decided to have a nice lunch by the Momtmartre on place of Tertre. The waiter could have been nicer and the soup hotter but the steak and fries were good. I don't think he like the fact we ordered water to drink.

Frogs Legs, which were very yummy. (Food was great, but service ruined the experience).

This is a late review and I'm sad to give this place a 2 star, but I think 2 stars is being generous for the experience my friend and I had. In the heart of the touristy Place du Tertre in Montmartre, my friend and I decided to have our last Parisian dinner of the week at La Crémaillère 1900. There are many restaurants to choose from and we made our decision with La Crémaillère because of all the outside seats available and that the restaurant didn't look too busy. At first service was great, our orders being taken right away by one of the waiters and drinks served in a matter of minutes. And then it goes downhill from there. My friend ordered the onion soup as a light fare dinner, while I ordered the croque madame. We also ordered a plate of frogs legs to share. While sitting outside and enjoying the lovely April weather, we kill our wait time by taking in the sights and sounds of Place du Tertre. Minutes upon minutes pass and after waiting 40 minutes, we finally get our food. Except there's one problem. We get our plate of frogs legs and my croque madame, but my friend's onion soup is nowhere to be found. We kindly ask the waiter about the soup, to which he replies that we will have to wait a while for it to be made. Hm, I guess they weren't working on it during the 40 minutes that had passed. I take a look at my croque madame and am quite unimpressed because it looks like it was made with grocery quality texas toast. Don't get me wrong, I love my texas toast, but I don't want to pay quite a bit for something that looks like I can make it at home. Also, I had amazing croque madame at a café that was a 10 minute walk away from La Crémaillère. I tell my friend to have majority of the frogs legs while we wait for her soup, which was a good decision because her soup never came. Nor did the waiter come back to check if we ever received the soup. The only upside is that they didn't charge us for the soup we were never served.

We ate here after our visit to Sacre Coeur and the Montmartre neighborhood. The location is great. We ate outside. Right near an artist outdoor market. Very fun. I had a croque monsieur which was fine.My husband had an Italian salad which he said was good. Wait staff was ok. They sat another party right next to our family of four when there were many open tables. It was sort of awkward. Prices were a bit high but overall a decent experience.

Chicken with basil sauce with pommes frites (gluten free). And French onion soup, with escargots. Très très bien!!

Luca Recommended a meal with a mashed potatoes and sausage with French bread and salad and it sounded tasty so I gave it a go! All the flavors went well together; mashed potatoes were well seasoned the sausage had a good flavor, and the salad with the vinaigrette added a crunch in an extra flavor as well. I drank a French hard cider while I gobbled up my meal, which also was new for me and tasted great after I was done my meal. The restaurant itself isn't small, but really not big, so it's definitely worthwhile to make a reservation at least a week or so on advance, otherwise you're pushing your luck. Everyone ordered steak frites (2 rump steak, 2 flank) and no one was disappointed. Steaks were cooked to order, although medium here in France is more like medium rare in the States, just be advised. The restaurant itself is lively and fun with lots of chatting, laughing and good times being shared. Desserts were Crème Brûlée and Apple Crumble, neither of which were disappointing. We definitely enjoyed our dinner and would likely return again. This time with a reservation made well in advance.

Making a reservation isn't hard but you do need to email them and there's no online booking system. You also have to confirm again 1-2 days before. I understand they are small with a limited number of tables so that's fair and it seemed like everyone showed up even though they don't require a deposit. On a Friday night, it didn't appear there was much chance or walking in although there were like 2 open seats at what would have been a shared table. The menu is small and includes some typical French starters, steaks, 3 non steak entrees, cheeses, and dessert. All steaks come with potatoes, 3 sauces, salad. Service was a highlight. The waiter was personable and funny, had solid recommendations, and made sure leftovers were taken home. Also had a solid wine recommendation after asking some questions. They probably get a lot of people who don't speak French and they had no problem speaking English. The food- ordered a ribeye medium rare. The steak was so so charred on the outside and it almost ruined the whole thing. I really wish they would have charred it way less especially when it was ordered medium rare. There is seared and then there is burnt; this was sadly the latter. The steak itself was fine, honestly nowhere near the best meat I have had but the price is quite reasonable for how much you get. I would say the steak was maybe 6/10 for me, largely due to the cooking. The fries were phenomenal. Definitely a highlight and really tasty and with a great texture. Salad was good, pretty typical. I wanted to like the sauces more but found them just okay. The best by far for me was the blue cheese sauce but even this one I thought the flavors could have popped a little more. Atmosphere was fun, there were a few bigger groups (6-8 which is the biggest they accommodate) but it never got unreasonably loud. Overall I wanted to love it but was a bit disappointed even though the service and fries were both great.
