I stumbled upon this place on accident trying to get out of the cold in Amsterdam and I'm glad that I did! The aesthetic was homey but with a modern twist-I felt like I was in a family members home eating dinner. The service could have been better which was odd because it wasn't really busy. This was my first time trying true Italian pasta outside of the States and now I can't look back. I would for sure recommend this place for a chill and familiar vibe for a drink or a bite to eat.

It's a shame it closed especially since it was so good and very nice interior. Service was really good for a restaurant in the Centrum where the tourists are. The food was a delicious. We did notice a slight price increase based on the way they've changed up the tasting menu offerings since our last visit, but we still had a special occasion meal with a €55 bottle of wine for €180 total for 2 people. To me, that is very affordable for such a nice meal. What we really love is that the menu is changed drastically each time we visit, so we get to try different items and have a new experience each time. The tasting menu options are very affordable as tasting menus go! Our favorites this time were the mussels as well as the tomatoes with dijon ice cream (yes!). For me, the beef cheek was not so nice. But that's what is great about the tasting menu... there are enough samplings to leave full, even if you skip one or two items or leave a bit of food behind (not that my hubby didn't finish everything I did not!). We are leaving the Netherlands this month back to NYC, and this is one of the restaurants we will miss the most! We know we can get a meal of this caliber, but not at this price, in New York!

Love, love, LOVE this place! It's one of our two go-to restaurants here in the Netherlands and…read morenever truly disappoints. The ambiance is really cozy and nice and eclectic, definitely not overdone like some Mexican places and they have a great selection of tapas, even for me as a vegetarian! Plus, the cat that lives behind the restaurant drops by every once in a while to keep you company when the restaurant is still quiet early in the evening; adorable! I love it when restaurants here in Utrecht have "house cats". Love the seasonal selections, for me in the summer it's Empanada de Espinacas (Filo stuffed with spinach, pine nuts, soft cheese and raisins) and in winter it's the Tumbet (Spanish egg, potato and vegetable casserole) both are super delish! However, the two dishes I can't live without are the Patatas Bravas with the lovely spicy dip and the Pan (bread with red butter, aïoli and olive tapenade) the red butter is especially amazing. The BF always loves the Champiñones Rellenos (stuffed mushrooms), Costillas (Lamb chops with aïoli) and Pollo El Mundo (marinated chicken legs) and orders at least one of these three every single time and of course also the Pan, everyone loves that! The desserts are all great, try the Banoffi or the Tarta de chocolate y nueces, big recommendation on those two! Now, with my love for the ambiance and food you're probably wondering, why not five stars? Well, that's the staffs fault. The olive tapenade can be a bit inconsistent in taste, the Pincho de Pollo is the tiniest portion of Chicken skewers in the world and the servers tend to have a bit of an "we're better than you and would rather talk to each other" attitude about them, they don't really act on it and stay polite, but a few smiles coming towards the customers instead of each other would be greatly appreciated! Overall a great restaurant and I wish they would deliver to my house!
