My family and I ate here twice while in Vienna. After eating authentic German/Austrian food for 9 days we really needed to change it up. We loved the Zuppe de Pesce - super fresh and light. Lots of Mussels though and not much shrimp,. The fish in it was delish. The pizza is fantastic. True Italian style pizza with the flavor and textures to match. The sauce is so good. The house salad was good. The tomato soup good as well, but it was pretty much just a bowl of marinara sauce (not complainging because their sauce rocks). My father ordered the mixed seafood plate and I ordered the Bronzino. Both great! The calzone was meh. Chianti wine was on the money, literally, it was dirt cheap and delicious.

Probably the best pizza in town!

Is it possible to have two favorite pizza restaurants within a mile of each other? Apparently so Il Sestante meet "La delizia" your biggest competition, of course in my opinion, for the best pizza in Vienna. You know you're in for a good pizza when the entire staff, owners and locals are all speaking Italian. And needless to say the pizza was excellent. The typical thin Italian pizza with a fluffy crust showed up within 15 minutes and I didn't know if I should just take photos or eat it. The taste was fabulous and this is possibly my new go to pizza location in Vienna. Check it out and give me your opinion. You won't be disappointed!

I do get bored with all the ubiquitous Italian restaurants around Vienna and find other cuisines a bit more exciting and challenging these days. As a result, my friends and I don't often go to an Italian restaurant. And to be honest, of the several Italian eateries that I have been to, only a few have impressed me for breaking out of the predictable mold with more creative and distinctive dining experiences. But there is one traditional Italian restaurant that I do go to and enjoy and that is La Delizia in the Josefstadt. My close friends in Vienna who hail originally from Naples like this restaurant very much.....and make no mistake about it - the Italian you hear spoken in La Delizia comes straight off the streets of Naples. The pizzas are def genuine southern Italian creations and you can't go wrong with any of them. The calzone here is also excellent. The service is always pleasant especially when you speak Italian. I have a tip - Se si parla italiano al cameriere, c'è una grande possibilità di ricevere un limoncello gratuito dopo cena. The Schanigarten on a warm summer evening is a perfect spot to chill with friends. But it's popular so reserve an outside table if you can. Buon Appetito....or as one says in South Philadelphia Italian - Mangia, Mangia!!

Pizza is excellent, thin crust with a nice mix of tasty sauce, cheese and sausage. The ciopion (seafood soup) is very fresh and tasty. Both are 5 stars. The lamp chop is nicely presented but the taste is only above average. The vegetable soup is very salty and we did not like it at all. But overall a nice dining experience. Will recommend. Price is pretty good and the portion is generous. Ambient is cozy.

Really great & authentic Italian pizza, with great service and price, & nice terrace seating across from a park. I'd definitely visit again.

Delicious pizza and not expensive! The pizza prosciutto was probably the best I ever had.

The pizza is thin crust, extremely authentic Italian style, and comes with a variety of Austrian ingredients such a sausage from lower Austria or prosciutto crudo from burgenland. I had the prosciutto pizza with a beer. It was very hot, came out very fast, and was very delicious. A true thin pizza, it was more of a knife and fork affair, though as an american I tried to pick it up and eat it for a while, but it lacked the structure for that. What it missed in stability though it more than made up for in taste. There are a lot of reservations here for later in the evening and it's a medium sized place, but if you come earlier they have no problem letting you sit wherever you like, though you will be reminded repeatedly of how much time you have left before you have to go if you run up against the reservation time. It's a bit pricy for pizza, but definitely worth it.

They have a seasonal pizza menu that I recommend that you try also. I love that this place is dog friendly, also, so we can stop by on our walk to enjoy some great food! The staff is very friendly, and the prices are on par with about every good pizza place in Vienna.
