While my chicken fried steak was just a little bit overcooked and hard to slice into with the provided plastic knife, it was still Southern-style delicious with the cream gravy, mashed potatoes, a fresh roll, green beans with real bacon bits, and a huge brownie on the side with a bottled water ($15). The owner was such a friendly, generous person. She was outside her food truck - not trailer - during this lunchtime event talking to folks waiting in line. Her employees/helpers were very amicable too. I've always heard great things about this food truck, but never had the opportunity to visit it. So glad I did. MaMa E's was established in 2018. Their motto is "where you can taste love in the grub." That's for sure! Their setup was for a large group in downtown Hobbs, so many tickets were pre-sold, but their food truck was nice and clean inside and out - I snooped! Lol. As soon as we opened the door to go inside, we noticed all the lights off. My daughter was hesitant, but I pursued. Lol. Seconds later, we saw a man in a cowboy hat who promptly said hello then turned on the lights. It was awkward. So we quickly walked around. More frustrating than anything was seeing no prices on any items. It was, however, mostly organized: - blankets - cookware - garden figures - pottery - ristras (some even heart-shaped) Just as we were about to leave I thanked the man and asked if they accepted plastic as payment. They do. I also asked what time they open. He matter-of-factly replied, "We are open 7 days a week." Lol.
