The bistec tacos are soooo good! The portion is quite ample. The order comes with two tacos and four tortillas. I had to eat some bistec before I could double up on the tortillas to actually pick it up. I actually tried the habanero salsa which is common for this area. Just a bit will add amazing flavor; just don't overdo it!!! We also ordered a side of beans which came with tortilla chips. Since the beans had chorizo I couldn't eat them. Hubby said they were amazing! Also amazing is the service. Our order came out very quickly and our waiter was fantastic. This is a relaxed restaurant that is quite clean. It's hit or miss with restaurants on this busy, tourist street. While neither terrible nor terribly priced, it's just mediocre. The hours are strange and don't seem to follow a pattern except it only seems open when there's a ton of foot traffic. Think evenings close to weekends. Staff seem ambivalent to customers, kind of out of place since the locals usually appear friendly and warm. Service, even by laid back Merida standards, is slow. The food is, like most of the other things about this restaurant, "meh". Tacos are ok, probably the go-to option for most who come here. We arrived early and it was empty, when we left it was filling up and one noticed that the vast majority of the customers were foreign tourists. Locals avoid this place, probably because the value is low. I would neither recommend nor dissuade onyone from coming here, but I would point out there are so many more options within a five minute walk. read more

Based on someone's advice that the best tacos and margaritas in Merida we went here. They were not wrong. We had a downpour right before we got there. Waiters were cleaning and drying the tables. Because of rain it was a beautiful summer evening in Merida. We ordered margaritas that were spot on. Some of the best we have had. Ordered the queso fundido for an appetizer. Great cheese and chorizo sausage with flour tacos. Nice change from corn tacos that you normally get. For dinner my wife and I ordered the bistec and arrachera tacos. They were so good on the flour tortillas. Our waiter Orlando brought chopped habanero peppers for the tacos. Enjoyed the evening watching people walk the Paseo. Visitors, you must go eat here. We found many foodie places with fancy, tasty, tiny bites that were great on a vacation trip. This place is more focused on authentic, well made simple Mexican food, generous portions, excellent service and drinks, and best prices. We ordered arrachera tacos, one order with cheese, one order without. The plates arrive with extra tortillas and enough meat to have 4 tacos, and you will eat all four. Bonus tacos! Best margaritas in town. Best service of anywhere we ate; very attentive to every need. One outdoor screen showing local sports. Lots of local people-watching, scenery, and positive vibes to take in right on their main strip, Paseo de Montejo. This restaurant proves you don't need to be pretentious and fancy when you have amazing authentic local comfort food and treat your customers like royalty. It is what it is a medium priced restaurant with a large soccer watching crowd after 9pm. The service is very good. I had the very good chicken fajitas three times. The location was very close to the Fiesta and Hyatt, about a five minute walk. It's a good start for a walk along Montejo or walking to centro. read more

We really liked this place for tacos - really good Al Pastor, arrachera, and poc chuc. Their margaritas are the best I've had in Merida - most places make them too sweet but these were perfectly balanced. The food was good, I got the arrachera tacos and my wife got the Cheese steak. The arrachera meat is beef and it was cooked and tasted very good 10/10 but the tacos only had the meat which is what the menu said but a lot of the best tacos I have had have more than that. The cheese steak was fantastic, it is super cheesy so for cheese lovers you will love this. The salsas were very great as well I recommend putting the guacamole salsa and habanero salsa mixed together putting more habanero salsa if you like more heat to it. Now the food was good for the price, now the thing that made this place not 5/5 was that there was a street performer playing violin which is fine but he kept awkwardly walking and playing between the guests. He also was playing pretty poorly the entire time while loud music was being played through the sound system. As you can see this would sound very unpleasant on the ears to have such different noises. The staff saw him and didn't say anything or turn off the music. I normally don't take away from a restaurant if something happens out their control like if other customers are being obnoxious or if police are arrest a person outside the restaurant. But overall good restaurant, staff were pleasant, food is very tasty, prices are mostly fair. read more

The Food. The food in this restaurant ranges from good to average. Nothing memorable, yet not bad for the price. Don't order the Carne asada since the meat it's super dry. Order Arrachera instead. The Drinks. The aguas frescas here are good and safe. You don't have to worry about getting sick since they are made with purified water. We ordered the Jamaica and the Orchata; both very good. The Service. The servers are friendly and very fast when the restaurant is not busy. However, they take forever when there are a lot of people in the restaurant. read more

Their supertaco was excellent. It's not as touristy as some might think. It is a great place to eat with friends. First night in Merida we found a winner. I'd recommend this to anyone who wants a restaurant where they can walk to easily from their hotel. read more

Good solid food. Easy to find, and the tacos are yummy, as was the agua de jamaica. A good place to get a quick tasty bite.
