I'm going to start with the basketball court so the floor is never clean theyll push a dust broom over it occasionally but that's it they never mop it , and on top of that now the rim on the far side of the court is hanging down and missing a bolt and they haven't done anything to fix it and both nets have been shredded for weeks it takes 5 minutes to change them out just do it already , and my biggest peeve about this location is they only have one true squat rack that makes no sense in a gym of this size and I've tried to bring up my concerns with the area manager more than once and he just shrugs it off and gives a statement like " I'm sorry but it is what it is " read more

Yes, there is a LA Fitness about 1.5 miles from my house but I will drive the extra 10 minutes to go to this location for a more pleasant environment (nice big windows, open spaces, better overall air circulation, newer equipment) whenever my schedule permits. In particular for us, the spinning room has far better air circulation and a functioning sound system. The same instructors work at both places but the spin bikes are different. We like these because you can make more adjustments for a better overall fit. On top of that, the aerobic area is well lit and has a small jogging track around it. I am 74 years old. Recently joined through Tivity Health, which is my Blue Cross affiliate. Very small discount, but month to month, cancel anytime. Billing by Tivity, not LA Fitness. I was a member of the Kettering Rec Center across the street for years. Good for a municipal facility. This costs me about $10 month more than Kettering Rec resident fee. Worth it to me. More of a private club atmosphere. Lap pool with warm water. Private showers. Nice locker facilities. Tons of machines, never a problem getting one. I consider it a clean, well run facility. Does of course show age. Was a Gold's Gym, then Urban Active. Don't know the construction date. I swim twice weekly, use the Techno Gym, walking track and treadmill, on a regular basis. Different bicycle equipment on occasion. Some elliptical use. The walking track circles the upstairs exercise area, and is pleasant. Gym appropriate music. Contrast that with what I considered the depressing track at the rec center. Off by itself, and definitely dingy. Often noisy. Also the pool is always available. Contrast that with the limited open swim hours at the rec center, due to swim meets, classes, whatever. Great parking. I use the underground parking. read more

I am not a member here and never will be after today. I refuse to join LA because I have heard too many horror stories about them pressuring you to join as well as people having issues with canceling their memberships. My bf has been a member at this location in particular for years though and asked me to go with him while we had a free night. I will say that the front desk people were cool and just let me drop in free of charge which was great, however their following behavior ruined everything. As we were working out there was a guy who decided to grab two pairs of dumbbells and two curl bars and set them up on top of and around one of the bench presses. He was your typical gym etiquette douche while he took up more space than necessary and slammed his weights for absolutely no reason but he wasn't hurting anyone so whatever. THEN a girl politely asked if he was using the bench, you know to bench press. He was very short and said he was using the area. She then asked if he was benching though and he once again rudely replied "no". She one more time asked, still nicely, if she could use the bench since there wasn't another one open. He replied "no" then started curling in her face. I would also like to note that there were 3 flat benches available literally 2 feet away from him. His whole attitude with this girl was short and rude. The girl then went to the front desk to ask for assistance in perhaps get the gentleman to move his weights. A bald guy with glasses came over and spoke with the bench jerk for about 30 seconds and then told the girl that there was nothing he could do. At this point the girl is standing next me and I tell the guy that the bench jerk was being unnecessarily rude to the poor girl, to which the LA employee just kinda shrugged and said "sorry". Fine. Whatever. I got the feeling that the employee was afraid of the confrontation, but whatever. I go back to working out, still in proximity of the bench jerk, when all of a sudden we make eye that awkward eye contact I'm the mirror and he looks at me and says "f%*^ you bitch" I turned around and said excuse me? He then started cussing at me, calling me a bitch and a bunch of nonsense because I was talking to the employee with the girl. My bf was nearby and came over after hearing the man talking to me like such a gentleman. They began exchanging words and the bench jerk began getting louder and more obnoxious. I went to the front desk to get the same employee as before and asked him to come back because the jerk had started being belligerent. The employee has zero sense of urgency but comes back out on the floor. Of course, when we get there the jerk has stopped running his mouth. The employee says nothing to the rude man AT ALL. My bf has been a corrections officer for 14 years and is used to dbags running their mouths, was annoyed but unbothered in the end. The employee said if we wanted to sit down and talk let him know. The whole situation was ridiculous. I've worked out for years and been to many gyms and I have never experienced this. The bench jerk was rude and aggressive and apparently he knows he can do whatever he wants because nobody will say anything. Essential he's a bully and apparently the LA employees aren't mature or professional enough to deal with him. If that's the type of member that they cater to then no thanks. Luckily I never have to go back there. Other than that I would say that the gym is mediocre at best. Equipment is ok. One squat rack that is pretty underwhelming and if you wanna deadlift then you just find a space in between machines I guess? Or maybe you just set up by a bench, it's not like anyone will tell you no. I will also note that there were three employees sitting in one office playing with a dog when we arrived which was weird. All the staff just seemed like a bunch of 20 year olds hanging out. I would never join here. read more

This is the nicest LA Fitness I've ever been to. Clean, new, awesome areas for all types of exercises. Cardio, weights, machines-the perfect gym. This gym makes me want to move here from Florida! Friendly staff with a good layout (for an LA Fitness). Located right next to a parking garage so no need to worry about whether or not you will find a parking spot. With a track, pool, and basketball court you have plenty of options to get away from boring cardio equipment. HOWEVER... the weight area which is what I really look for in a gym is lacking. Outdated equipment and dusty. They have plenty of plates but they are all worn out and are frankly a let down considering how much people pay to go here. There is a room with brand-new equipment but you have to pay for a personal trainer to be allowed to use them. All things considered.... It's not worth the price tag. If they were to update and maintain I'd say otherwise read more

Great gym , you get a lot of bang for your buck! I personally have jumped around about 8 gyms in the past decade and have not felt like I have found my gym until I came across LA . It is very difficult to cancel a membership. I talked to Jesse at the Fairfield Commons location at least twice as well as requesting paperwork to make sure my membership was cancelled. Despite being told it was, I am still being billed. Get everything in writing! read more

Modern facility, spinning bikes, heavy dumbbells, good location and one of three facilities in the Dayton area. Also I can use any location statewide for about $30/month. Sure sometimes I'm annoyed looking for a bar clip and it's crowded during peak hours, but that's true of any gym.... read more

I was a member of this gym when it was Urban Active and it was just as bad. TVs on the majority of the treadmills and elliptical do not work, it gets really hot in there when the sun shines into all those walls made of windows and the weight lifting area is a nightmare if you go between 3-7 p.m. The staff is not cohesive; when I had questions about my account I got a different story from every person I talked to with each person contradicting each other. It is way over priced for the quality of service received. Also, there is no wifi, which I would expect with only half of the TVs working. read more

I normally use the LA Fitness in Centerville, but someone drove their car into the swimming pool at that location so I visited this location at The Greene for a few weeks. I must say, this place is horrible. Trying to be objective, it is dark, dirty, and smells like ass. This used to be Gold's Gym and LA Fitness must have purchased it from auction or something. The equipment is ancient and disorganized. The pool is so dark, that at every turn I have to make an effort to not hit the wall. I stopped going, it really is depressing. I've been a member at this location for over three years. When LA Fitness bought it out in October, I hoped for a smooth transition. Over the last month or two, the cleanliness has gone downhill quickly. I complained to the manager, but things continued to get worse. I wrote a letter to management, but the letter and the concerns were never acknowledged. I like the location, the facility is great, but the cleanliness and the response to customer concerns leave much to be desired. read more

Let's me tell your guys this ! Do not sign in for this fitness center they are liars and try to get you in then if you want to cancel they will try to rip-off you ! Heidi the manager their told me when I signed in for my membership if in the future I want to cancel my membership it will not charge me any fees! But now they try to make me to buy out for that !! The gym is more modern than most with a good set up and I have seen people clean. They have daycare although it gets busy and they do not add a babysitter at busy times which means chaos at certain hours. They have a movie room but often forget to change the film so you just watch the beginning of a dvd for 20 min or go down and ask them to hit play. My big issue with them is cancelling membership. Not straight forward and I was told different things in person than on phone. Basically a lousy customer service experience. You will need to send written notice to a PO box to discontinue membership or leave work to talk to a manager. read more

LA Fitness agreement indicates that no coaching, training or instructing is allowed between members for liability reasons--I worked out at this location for 5 months--now no one showed me this in the contract before I joined or I would NOT have joined---To my understanding they offer LIMITED LIABILITY clause that prevents them from being sued if you get hurt working out there--THEY SEEM TO BE MORE INTERESTED IN SELLING PERSONAL TRAINING INSTRUCTION THAN OFFERING A GYM WITH A FRIENDLY ENVIRONMENT supportive with getting in shape--I found this location to be very MISMANAGED, unfriendly and unsupported unless you are buying personal training --I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND JOINING THIS GYM AFTER BEING A MEMBER FOR 5 MONTHS THERE--WISH I HAD NOT WASTED MY TIME OR MONEY THERE--I FOUND THEIR PRICING FOR MEMBERSHIPS SOMEWHAT HIGHER THAN OTHER GYMS AROUND---the facility is fairly nice--ladies sink was out of order for over a week--kids room flooded, some of the machines stuck and getting in and out of the parking garage was difficult at times--also fighting the shoppers at the Greene to get in and out was tough--good luck and I hope my personal review can help you make the choice right for you read more

This club used to be a good location. However it has really deteriorated. The men's locker room has been closed for 2 months for repairs. There has been no TV service for 2 months. It shows a lack of commitment of providing value for customers. read more
