Update since someone wrote to me something very vile about my post (check the picture): I omitted some of my response in case it gets deleted. Lmfaooo. It's a COURT WITH basketball and volleyball. They have holes that are installed on the ground for the poles specifically for volleyball. They even had the gym updated for that about a year ago. Also idgaf about what they do outside of the gym or their lives. That ain't my business and you should mind your own business too. You're literally accusing them of "killing people". Sounds like you have a personal problem to me. Again, idgaf if they want to play basketball. My problem is with the MANAGER wanting to abolish volleyball without actually considering their customer's feelings. Nobody is complaining about kids with no membership coming to basketball. My problem is again with the MANAGER. They don't have no legal ties with non-membership people. I have had many friends and families gets their stuff stolen and cars stolen within the last few years and 9 out of 10 times it is always non-membership people. Even when the cameras captures them walking in and out, if they don't have a membership, LA fitness would not be able to identified them. La Fitness have been useless when it comes to these kind of stuff. Furthermore even if they are members, La fitness have refused to show the perpetrator's information due to "client confidentiality" or what ever it is (might had been at a different La fitness for reference). And yes my friend was the one that went through this when his stuff got stolen in the locker room. These Managers needs to do a better job with non-membership people's contracts. Who are these non-membership people?? IDK. They are probably non regular people you don't see everyday at the gym most likely. Anyways, I may had not gone to full details why I was upset but in no way shape or form are you going to make me seem like I'm a "Karen" or what ever. Take your uneducated mind somewhere else. Thanks!

The only picture i had was the one from the parking lot, since I left my phone in the car. This location is located in Brooklyn Center, across from the old Brookdale Mall, which is now Walmart. (Showing my age!) Parking lot was FULL on a Monday at 7pm, someone in sales is doing something right! I've been here once before on a guest pass to do a zumba class, but today i was here visiting on another friends guest pass. This gym is phenomenal. Very clean, full of people and people enjoying themselves at the gym??? Whaaaat!? Blasphemy! LOL I"m so not a gym person.. hate working out. So from that perspective, it was nice to see so many people enjoying themselves on the basketball courts, doing weight challenges and posting them on IG, older women working out, girls with trainers, guys with friends.. actually pretty nice. You walk in and there's a service desk in front and to your right are the Sales stations. My friend checked in and I was his offical guest. I had to provide my identification, take a picture and sign my name. Easy Peasy. To your right is a pool and a hot tub or jacuzzi. Around the corner are the bathrooms and/or locker rooms. I must say, the locker was very clean. I don't know if i caught the gym during their "cleaning hours," but this lady that was working on the 1st floor had the place looking good! Applauds to her! I honestly have an account at PF right now, because it's cheap, but I may really consider switching over to LAF. You have my attn. Who am I kidding? I hate working out! LOL

So this is my normal, nearly everyday gym. Been that way for over a year now. Lets start with the good, ample parking even during peak hours, lots of weight, lots of machines/equipment, pool, hot tub, and locker room. Lets go through the shit now... the locker rooms are very rarely cleaned. Which means there is paper towels all over because garbage cans are over flowing. Spilled protein powder everywhere. The workout floor itself (this back by the benches, Smith Machines, and dumbbells) is an absolute mess. What's a mess Josh? Well, chalk usually everywhere around the racks, paper towels from the few people who actually wipe equipment off laying all over the place, the odd bandaid here and there (used of course), water bottles strewn about, and of course my favorite - weights and dumbbells absolutely everywhere. I know, your next question is "why doesn't the staff put them away?" Well, that would require them to get off their phones long enough to do that. And because most of them can barely get their face off the screen long enough to say "hi" when you walk in - you know, like most front desk people would - I highly doubt that picking up weights would be at all possible. Cleaning the weight area and equipment? Whoa... lets get one wagon hitched at a time! They've got one person I've seen in a year that actually cleans and puts weights away. And it's been done maybe 5 times total in that year. How do I know? Trust me, I'm here enough at the right times to know. In all honesty, the place NEEDS to be shut down for a day and totally cleaned from top (cardio) to the bottom (weights). It's in desperate need of it. Why do I keep going? It's cheap, has everything I need, and because I'm a clean freak that wipes the equipment off before and after use, I can get over the lack of cleanliness. Plus, I go right at opening most days to avoid any truly terrible crowds full of your typical gym dbags (there's a lot of them here, that I promise). I have no experience with the personal training staff, so, I'll defer to others on that aspect. I've been to other LAs as well, Maplewood and Oakdale most often besides this one, and they're far nicer - all around - than this one. Far cleaner, far better staff and better clientele.

Good gym but not a lot of cables I went in and saw people washing their feet in the bathroom.

What was meant to be a month has lead to a lie and now I am paying for NOTHING! It does not work. I am fit, looking for some non-invasive work and I was scammed to the max.

...y'all are so lucky right now…read more Why? Because I'm sharing this gem with you (while I'd much, MUCH rather keep it to myself). Seriously. Nordeast Yoga is what got me into yoga. Period. I was going through a very...let's call it "transitional" time 1.5 years ago, and I deeply credit Nordeast Yoga for helping me successfully live through it without going insane - as a place for grounding, being mindful, and bettering myself both physically and mentally. I'm a huge fan of yoga now thanks to Nordeast. The studio space itself is beautiful: hardwood floors, large windows that let in floods of sunlight, exposed brick...it's really perfect. In the evening, classes are naturally lit with the setting sun and candles. Each instructor has something very unique to offer. Classes range from higher levels in yoga ability to straight up beginner, some are more meditative, others are a fantastic blend of meditation meets a pretty intense (and satisfying) workout. I also appreciate the adjustments when I'm in a pose. I've taken both Annie or Christy's classes and both are absolutely wonderful yoga teachers. I also am a BIG fan of their music choices (what is up with yoga and bad music!?), especially Yoga a-Go-Go. Once a month, there's even metal yoga, and nothing says warrior 2 quite like Iron Maiden. Drop-In class prices are about $13, and you can also purchase monthly passes (with a bonus free beer at its completion!). Class times vary (and it's a one-studio space), so definitely check the schedule on their website to find the best class/time for you. Soooo yeah. Nordeast Yoga is amazing. Definitely check it out. You're welcome.

Can I give 6 stars? This gym is amazing! The vibe is…read morenon-intimidating, supportive, and fun! The instructors are skilled and hilarious and somehow make doing planks fun. They also make everyone feel welcome. I've only been for Pilates classes but have been to several of them and loved them all. Pilates classes tend to draw a female crowd which can be intimidating but this studio couldn't be further from that. Everyone is welcoming, no one cares what you wear (Lulu who? Wear your favorite t-shirt), and every skill level is accommodated. They have 4 reformer machines so for classical reformer classes, they have 4 spots. I typically go over lunch and book ~5 days out and usually don't have an issue getting a spot. They use the MindBody app and have their own app as well so booking classes is easy! They use a waitlist and most times I've been on the waitlist, I get added to the class. The instructors mix things up and keep it interesting with fun music! I've been to reformer classes elsewhere with soft, soothing music and it nearly put me to sleep. Not here! Expect 80s jams from Jean, Lizzo from Andrea, and the Doobie Brothers (or Beyonce!) from Ruth. They have a Pilates Circuit class that combines the reformer, jump board, tower, chair, mat, TRX, and more. I haven't done the same workout in a Circuit class once. Circuit classes can have 12 (or maybe even 16) people in a class which is super fun and keeps the energy in class moving. The studio has cubbies for your belongings, a bathroom, towels, and a shower. They have a parking lot with maybe 10 spots and tons of parking spots along the street. I haven't had an issue with parking but they are next door to Psycho Suzi's so on a summer Saturday, give yourself extra time to park. Upstairs they have the "Treehouse" where they hold barre, Pilates, and yoga classes. The back wall of the studio is all windows that face the Mississippi. They also have the "Basement" where they have open gym and weight classes. They even have open gym times in the "Treehouse" with the Pilates equipment! Their prices are wonderful! Your first week is free so definitely try that. I did and 6 months later, am still going to classes. Your first month of unlimited classes is $59 which is INSANE for Pilates. Their memberships get you any class - reformer, yoga, kettlebells, whatever! PLUS unlimited access to open gym times. After the intro month, their prices and membership options vary but are still some of the most affordable options I've seen. They have a 12-class-a-month option for $135 which means each class is $11.25 - for reformer classes! I've seen studios charge $35 for one class. They host free outdoor workouts in the park, bike rides, and "Planks & Dranks" events at local bars. If you're looking for great workouts, a supportive workout community, and affordable classes, try a class at NE Fitness. I suggest the Pilates Circuit Class with Andrea to get you started. See you there!
