This is a specious clubs with many amenities including a salon, cafe, pro shop, pickleball, and indoor and outdoor pools. I am not a crazy fan of the overall layout. Upon entry you need to trek across the gym and downstairs to the locker rooms. Downstairs is also where you will find the basketball and pickleball courts, as well as the free weights. Upstairs are the cable machines and cardio equipment. The locker room is kind of nasty. Not well kept and often dirty. The dry sauna is absolutely disgusting. I would strongly suggest wearing feet coverings of some sort as I don't think the floors have been cleaned in months. I come to this club often as it is close but it is somewhat disappointing given the extremely high club dues. read more

I've been a member at this location for over a year now. I prefer Life Time to L.A. Fitness. I normally go late morning for yoga. I usually see the elderly present or moms with kids. I'll tell you why I think this place is great: PARKING: They have big parking available on-site. Although on the times when I go due to offered class/instructor at 10am M-F, the parking is pretty full. There are signs around other businesses that says "no Life Time parking allowed." But after noon, there are a lot of spaces available. AMENITIES: - Life Cafe - Sauna & hot tub - Life Spa salon - Personal Trainer - Classes - Kids club - Outdoor pool and tennis court - and more... CLEANLINESS: At Life Time Fitness, they offer hand towels and full size bath towels so you don't have to bring in your own. There are hampers throughout the building and you can drop off your dirty towel when you are done. Lockers are clean. Showers are a hit or miss depending the time - morning to early afternoon is clean; but evening, you might see other gym members loose hair in the drain, but I see housekeeping constantly present to maintain the area. I did use their weight machines upstairs and noticed some gym members don't wipe down the equipment. There are sprays and towels available. CLASSES: I mainly attend yoga classes and the studio is kept nice and clean. Numbers on the floor is easy to see. SERVICES: The front desk is welcoming and greets you when you arrive and leave. The instructors are friendly, knowledgeable, and knows you by name. The instructors are helpful if you forgot to RSVP a space and will help you find a spot in class. I booked a massage appointment once at their Life Spa and the masseuse was professional and friendly. The only downside was the pricing. Overall, it is a good place to go work out. read more

We canceled our membership because every single person that goes here is a Somalian. I soon learned that they are all disrespectful to all that are not muslim and the entire staff especially at closing as I saw they won't leave at night when asked. The men pass gas everywhere, and the women take up the entire sauna without leaving. I tried to be positive but clearly the state placed these people at this location in some sort of contract. Now every member is Somalian. I love lifetime and was excited to join a higher standard or clean gym. It's no longer a nice "expensive" gym. It's the Muslim shelter and welfare meet up spot. read more

I've been going to this LifeTime location for over a year now and I really enjoy it! They offer great classes at very convenient times. The trainers are very attentive and remember who you are when you start coming around. It's a bit of an older demographic and family friendly which I really like. I've been to a few other locations where people are more concerned with the workout brands you wear rather than the workouts you do and I don't feel that self conscious at this location! It also isn't very crowded and you can always find a time to come and use the equipment that you need. I would definitely recommend! read more

Ya know I really wish that I could give this gym a better review. The staff are friendly and the gym is active and lively. Here is the downside. Nothing is being well maintained. Specifically the men's locker room. Good luck finding a locker. Seemingly 70% of the lockers are locked, even when going when they first open. When asking staff about this I was told "they don't have an operations manager right now so a lot of things are falling through the cracks". After repeatedly asking that staff spend the time to go through the locker room and unlock all the lockers before or after they close so that people don't have to spend all there time finding an open locker. I'm not spending $100 a month on a "luxury gym" that can't do basic things. Along with that most of the jets in the men's hot tub do not work. Out of the seemingly 15 jets there are 4 that work. I'm sure it's a pain to have that fixed but clearly being looked over. Also the handicap access to the hot tub has been broken the entire time that I have been a member. Also a lot of the shower curtains have holes in them that peeping toms use to check guys out in the shower. Go ahead and cruse in the shower or whatever if that's your thing but don't involve people that don't want to be apart of it. (This lifetime has more cruising than any location in the twin cities) Frankly it just seems like staff doesn't care. Some staff go above and beyond to try and provide the best experience to guests and it shows but unfortunately the good ones are overlooked by the lazy managers that can't bothered. read more

I used to think this was a 5 star facility until I ventured to other LTF. I love the classes (aqua, yoga, ARORA) and the walking track here! They offer tennis, basketball, pickleball, racketball/handball, ping pong. There is a very nice Life Cafe (featuring Peet's Coffee & healthy foods). My only complaint is the cleanliness in the showers & jacuzzi areas. There's always tons of hair in both areas that looks like it's been there awhile (yuck)-so I wear shower sandals. read more

We absolutely LOVE this gym. It's clean, the equipment is labeled for body parts so that if you're new to the gym you won't be confused on where to go, the staff is friendly and extremely helpful. If you are new, I would recommend using your free intro session and free training sessions and possibly even extend these sessions so that you can learn the proper way to workout and maintain good form without getting hurt. Although the gym may be a little more pricey than other gyms, you will have a lot more at your finger tips than you would with other gyms. The experience is AMAZING. There is child care, a restaurant -- with healthy options -- a store that offers a variety of supplements and other nutritional needs, a salon/spa, a fantastic variety of group fitness classes, including a zen yoga studio, indoor/outdoor pools, tennis courts, racquet ball and squash courts, and did I tell you how friendly the staff is?? I like the classes (limited options) and my daughter loves the pool. However, when we signed up we were told we could use the gyms to workout when they are no classes (we're dancers and this was a major draw). After joining we were told only the group fitness instructors could unlock the doors. A group fitness instructor told me they're supposed to keep the doors locked. We were told we could use a bank account to pay for membership. When we wanted to set that up we were told it has to be an account with a debit card or a credit card (with a transaction fee). Very disappointed in the misrepresentation. Furthermore, the class schedule is very limited especially for rhythm based or dance related classes which is my main draw. Yoga, HIIT, and cycle classes have been awesome. read more

Literally love this gym of a mom of 2 it is seriously amazing the kids always have a good time we can do family swimming after I have yoga and a much needed relax in any of the amenities (steam room, sauna, showers, huge locker spaces and private changing areas and you can not forget the hot tub/whirlpool) Then on top of that they have a special family locker room so were always comfortable to get the kids ready together for a swim time etc it's a little more pricey but for everything you get as a family it just makes sense I came for the yoga and stayed for literally everything else. We live in Plymouth and normally go to that LTF. But met friends at this location. My husband put his things in the locker, set and scrambled the password (as always) went and enjoyed his workout. Came back to his locker, put his code in, locker opened and EVERYTHING was missing. Wallet, Jacket, car keys.. everything! My Husband is very careful, he knows to cover password and stated there was no one near to watch his code. So someone must've seen him and asked that they get let in that locker once he left and was able to give description of the things so they believe him.. WE DONT know. But management stated they would do more looking and give us a call... still no call. We know they can't prevent everything but a follow-up call would've been appreciated. At least letting us know they tried, they looked and they "care" .. it would've been nice. This gym for a 2 adults and 2 kids is not cheap! So we expect more then this in those regards. Maybe it's time to change the locker process if you can easily get let into someone's locker. So annoyed! read more

This place is perfect for those on the the Silly Sneakers program (sorry, I don't like the name). The locker rooms are clean and smell good. Towels and locks are provided. There is a wide variety of equipment. Yesterday I flipped a 180 pound tire down the hallway and back. Tennis, table tennis, racquetball, basketball, tennis courts, steam room, two pools and more. Wow, what a fantastic place. I LOVE LIFETIME. The Fridley one is my home location... and my favorite one...while I've only been a member here for a short time (about 9 months or so? ) I have rarely missed a day of not going to Lifetime Fitness (unless I was sick). I LOVE it that much! If I'm not at the Fridley location I am at the other wonderful Lifetime locations. I make really good use of my membership at this location...I love the racquetball rooms and the table tennis area...I try to play racquetball or table tennis at least once a week. I love the variety of free fitness classes (Spin, Insanity, Strength, Zumba) for all fitness levels and the yoga classes - heated, Vinyasa (fast) , Hatha (slow flow kind) and meditation. Pilates. Of course there is personal training and group personal training, if that's your thing for a minimal fee...I did try a group personal training in Jan/Feb which was awesome. I never laughed so hard, learned so much and lose weight and tone up in such a short amount of time! This lifetime is located by the beautiful Moore Lake surrounded by trees. I love going to this club because I feel like I'm walking in to a retreat every time I step through the doors. There are lots of windows so you can view the beautiful surrounding greenery while your workout. I LOVE the well designed space and the environment. I love that I can visit even in the middle of the night... it's open 24 hours..and there's always people working out, and always staff around. Always comfortable. There are many areas with sofas to relax, and study areas to work or study, and a cozy, bright cafe with good food. I don't mind spending the whole day here, This location has an indoor and outdoor pool ...oh, and an indoor and outdoor tennis court. The amenities here are awesome..just in the locker room for .women - there is a sauna, whirlpool, eucalyptus steam room. nice showers, spacious lockers with hooks, lots of mirrors, blow dryers..oh, and this is a BIGGIE drum roll please... ...unlimited use of towels Yes, towels. It is a big deal. It's alot of hassle to tuck a towel in my gym bag, and then bring home the wet mess to wash after a workout. Well that's for the workout only, how about the shower? Towels are a BIG deal, especially to those of us who like to work out at least once a day. Yes, usually there is an option to rent ...but a towel for $1 or 2 it does add up.. and what if you forgot the cash? The majority of fitness gyms do not offer complimentary towels these days....just take a look at the other fitness centers in the Twin Cities...including the boutique gyms like Corepower Yoga and the Firm Minneapolis...where I have been a member in the past. Speaking of Boutique gyms...although they have worked for me in the past, I guess my goals have changed now that I am getting older, I want working out to be fun, while I am working out...and I also want to restore and renew from a rough day or week at work, or a good way to start the weekend. I want it stress-free as possible. Well, I think I made my point. I love everything about Lifetime Fitness.. the variety, the amenities and the community. Here you will feel comfortable as a single person, or with your family (there is childcare if you need), you will see there are different ages groups ,ethnic groups..all kinds of people stages of life and all walks of life, shape and form. Highly recommend! By the way the Fridley gym is a GOLD level membership. Lifetime Fitness gyms have certain memberships: Diamond (most expensive), Onyx, Platinum, Gold, to Bronze (least expensive). I have visited (and worked out at ) Diamond, Onyx, and Platinum gyms and I feel that this gym is almost the same par as Onyx and Platinum. In fact this gym IMO is better than the St. Louis Park location, which is Platinum. I guess SLP residents are paying for their location... Being a Gold member, you can visit all other Golds and Bronze level gyms, which is many in the Twin Cities...I have visited the two Gold Bloomington locations, Maple Grove, Champlin, Plymouth, and downtown Target Center...again, let me just say again, Fridley is the best! There ARE a couple of Life Time Bronze level gyms that I also frequent,love and highly recommend- which are no frills, still w/ towels-showers-steam-sauna and great classes, and I do plan to write reviews for them as well - I'll mention the names of these gyms, 'cuz I might not write about them fast enough: The New Hope location and the Roseville women only location. read more

Love my club! My family has been members since 2006, not long after the club was bought from Northwest. We watched the transformation as it was completely renovated. Every part of this club is new! Great cardio floor with tons of new machines and lots of space with a run/walk track around it, a huge weight room, and the best cycle studio with 60 bikes and two large screens they play inspiring biking dvd's on. I think the best part of this club is the group fitness classes! The instructors are top notch! We have used almost all the amenities offered over the years: * Salon & spa * Indoor and outdoor tennis courts * Three pools. One for laps, a warmer fitness pool for the aqua classes and lessons, and an outdoor one. * Cycle club outdoor rides * Racquetball courts * Ping Pong tables * Daycare. When they remodeled they added a bunch of computers which made me mad. The kids have access to their own gym and play equipment, but if you give any of them a choice, they'll sit in front of a screen. There is also a big screen TV in there that the staff play cartoons on. * Locker rooms. Large cherry wood lockers. Clean! Sauna, steam room and huge hot tub. There is even a family locker room for parents with different sex children. * LifeCafe * Large gym with basketballs for pick up games or just to goof off in. The last thing I'd like people to know is that you can also visit other Lifetime Clubs with your membership. I have been to Roseville (all women), Champlin, Coon Rapids & Plymouth. Mulled over joining a gym for awhile, but with the winter months fast approaching and all the food that comes along with it, we decided to join. This is not our home gym. I wish it was. However our home gym is pretty nice. This location is huge and has everything under the sun that you could ever need or want. - Leisure pool - Lap pool, deep end is 9 ft deep and cold - Sauna - Steam room - Towels, hairdryers, shampoo - Track - Outdoor pool - Cafe -Spa - Treadmills, elypticals and a ton of other options to get in shape. This place is great. Front desk could be a little friendlier. Now if we can only keep it up so the monthly fees aren't a big waste of money. read more

A very good gym when it first opened, but they have not kept it clean. A lot of new members who are abusing gym equipment and really making a mess. The first time I came here I was kind of pissed that I was paying for an Onyx level and this was Gold. It seemed better than the LT I was going to. That shiny veneer has slowly faded away though. I come here about once a week to get a quick workout in in between classes. What I like about this place is that the facility is laid out well. The cardio and weights aren't all crammed into one area. The machines aren't in terrible condition either. What really kills me though is the state of the locker room. It feels grungy. To start the towels aren't really quite big enough. They are just big enough to wrap around you, but just barely. I'm not packing on excess pounds either, so I don't know how the bigger gut guys do it. The steam room always seems like it is in need of a cleaning. It is also quite small. The other LT I normally go to the steam room always smells like mint or eucalyptus. Here it smells more like old sweat. I've also seen some strange things in there (guy came in full dressed, took off his shorts and underwear but left on his socks and shirt, pulled out a newspaper, started reading). The showers really leave a lot to be desired. The curtains (if the guys are even using them) barely give you privacy. The water pressure and temp also suck terribly here. It is like getting spit on when you try and shower. I've also seen what someone else pointed out about people using this place as a Laundromat. A guy was in the shower in his shorts, his cargo shorts, washing everything. The showers also only give you a combo body wash/shampoo. Not as much as the one I go to. Finally it is really annoying that there is no combs, deodorant, or general toiletries to use. I know that seems silly to complain about, but the LT I go to has it. I would say the machines and workout space is A but the locker room gets a D. 89/90 read more

W O R S T EXPERIENCE EVERRR! I recently had the worse experience ever at this (Fridley, MN) location. Harassment from the cleaning crew about my swimwear in the whirlpool in the woman locker room. Anyone else here have you guys had any bad experiences from the cleaning crew in the locker rooms. Not just on one occasion it happened 4 times within a month and a half. I even had a manager on duty check my swim wear multiple times yet a certain locker room attendent just wont leave me alone. She doesn't talk politely, even made me get out of the water to have someone inspect my swimwear. As a guest of a gym you should never ever have to feel that way its super disrespectful I feel so offended and harassed. If I could give them a lower than a one star I would. read more

Way too packed, the WiFi is TERRIBLE. Music stops every 5 seconds. Completely ruins the workout. Childcare also doesn't care for crying children- I am called down 20-30 minutes into my workout every time to pick my son up and I have been taking him here for over a year now. Not sure what level this club is in the whole Lifetime membership scale, but it's nice and includes amenities that are usually only available at higher level clubs---even tennis! Though I think you have to still have the tennis level of membership to reserve a court. I've been here thrice recently and have taken advantage of the courts as well as the cardio machines and weight room. The layout is kind of strange, as with a lot of Lifetime clubs. You're going upstairs and then down and then around and then lost... it makes me wonder if they are trying to force you to burn more calories by walking all over the facility. Gotcha, Lifetime! The tennis courts are very nice and it's much easier to reserve a court time here than at most other clubs. There's futsal set up in the gym sometimes too, which is this Brazilian game that's played with a smaller ball than a soccer ball. My friend told me the ball stays on the ground so pro soccer players sometimes practice ball handling skills playing futsal. Anyway, thought it was a pretty cool league to have at the Fridley Lifetime. read more

I love my lifetime! The Fridley gym is a little out of the way for me but not as busy as the St. Louis Park location. Their set up seems strange at first, it's a split gym with free weights downstairs and cables and cardio up. I have come to appreciate the layout though and they have racket sports at this location. 10 racket ball courts, tennis courts a d tennis table. Their classes run later here too! Plus it's a gold membership so about 100 cheaper than St. Louis Park and less than a 10 minute drive from the north loop! Oh and did I mention they have free wifi!? You can watch Netflix or HBO OnDemand while you do cardio and keep up on all your shows:) read more

Every time I go here regardless of the time of day, I have to wait behind a dozen or so teenage boys without memberships trying to fast talk their way in. Worse yet, they usually do get in. I for one am tired of paying for a membership, so that freeloaders have an indoor place to hang out and loiter. Also, I've been to pretty much all of the lifetime locations around the twin cities, and this one is clearly the dirtiest. It stinks! Everywhere! As an example I can tell you that on two separate occasions recently I saw staff in the men's locker rooms openly walking up and down the rows of lockers spraying bottles of surface cleaner into the air rather than on any surface in order to make it smell like they had cleaned, when in actuality, the place is a Petrie dish of bacteria, to say nothing about COVID. Do yourself a favor and find another gym. read more

Second best lifetime that I've been to. Boca Raton is the best so far, here is second, third my hometown, etc. Friendly staff, the complex is pretty well laid out. The staff aren't pushy, the place is clean, there are MORE than enough activities to choose from, it absorbs the most amount of people known to man with enough equipment and space to accomodate a village. I have been avoiding this Lifetime even though it's the closest to my house. We have a diamond membership and have been going to either White Bear Lake or Flagship. The last time I was at this lifetime was in 2011. I decided to take a tour and see if I it would be an option for working out and kids swimming. HOLY SURPRISE! This place is gorgeous. It literally blew my mind. I don't know when the changes were made, but it's nicer than White Bear and although it's not as "nice" as Flagship, it's filled with more normal people, which is comforting. The last thing I need when I'm trying to be positive, healthy and take care of myself is see a bunch of augmented women that I will never look like. They had MORE classes, the cafe' is sprawling and had everything if not more than the others, the childcare area is HUGE and the don't play movies non-stop AND they actually have a small gymnasium for the kids to be active in. They had basketball hoops at about 5 or 6 ft and lots of play equipment. I always felt guilty dropping my kids off at the others because they had to sit in a little room and color or stare at the TV, most of the time with movies that disturbed them. Disney drama. THE LOCKER ROOMS - now, these are sort of intimidating for someone like me who can't remember where she parked in a lot of 20 cars, but, they offer a perminent locker for 10. a month! They also have a good size hot tub inside the ladies locker so you don't have to sit with all the hairy men AND they no longer had open showers. They have the same stone stalls with either curtains or glass doors! White Bear doesn't even have glass doors. The only negative (which I remember from before and when it was NW Swim and Fitness) is that ALL the cardio are in one MASSIVE room with the walking track around it. Now, the plus is that there actually IS a walking track. WBL doesn't have one. I didn't check to see if they have any of the machines with their own TV and fitness monitors like the diamonds have, but that's not enough for me to pay Diamond level for and drive an additional 15 minutes to get to. IN SUMMARY - If you have been avoiding this club because of a past experience or were thinking that it won't be very nice because of location (no offence, Friendly Fridley) then check it out! Completely discussing!, specially on the weekends when more kids are around. I am on the edge to switch clubs, specially the premium monthly payment level I have to pay. I got a haircut at the Lifetime Spa from a man named Joseph. It was by far the best haircut I've ever had. First he cut my hair, then washed it, and finally waxed my eyebrows. Plus the spa has a very calming vibe to it I would 10/10 recommend the spa,and to go see Joseph. read more

I'm here almost daily, and I have never had a "bad" experience. The club is ALWAYS very clean. The trainers are knowledgeable and the staff is friendly. Even the cleaning crew is kind and easy to work with. Childcare is fantastic. This place is spendier than others, but worth it. Group fitness classes are fun, especially Zumba. I am not being over zealous when putting up this five star mark. I only needed to use the gym for a few months before I moved to a new city. From the facility, to the staff I could not have been more impressed. I was able to receive the guidance I needed on equipment that was available even during peak hours. Roddy and Marco run a great office and I would recommend them to anybody. Locker rooms were great. This includes the sauna, steam room, hot tub, and showers. I Have mixed feelings about this place. THE SPA: yes, Sam, the MT in the spa deserves FIVE STARS. MEMBERSHIP SERVICES: I recently went in to speak with membership services to get someone a one month membership as a gift. Wow, they made it really hard. I would have to pay for initial sign up fees, choose a club, etc. Then I asked about buying a personal training session or two if I could get a free month for this person..? NOPE. How about a guest pass? NOPE. They were really inflexible. I explained that once I got this person to TRY the gym, they might join and may even purchase more activities within the club. They were adamant that I would have to pay about $200 for this person to come for the month of January at a specific club. No guest passes, either - even if I agreed to buy a personal training session. So... My advice: don't speak with Landy. He's an asshole. PERSONAL TRAINING: Keri is the one to see! I started off in Brian's Team Fit, but found LT's advertising a bit deceiving, as he is not a dietician, there is no talk about nutrition, no accountability, not a lot of words of motivation, people coming late/leaving early, we weren't taught correct form, etc. After expressing my concerns with management, I was able to have my money that I spent moved to personal training sessions with Keri Ewer. Here's the thing about Keri... She comes up with simple customized work outs for me that are super challenging, but not over the top. She is a true motivator, she holds me accountable, she reviews my eating log and provides feedback and even new recipes she thinks I will like. She explains the science of weight loss and body building in a way that is easy to understand and has shared info with me. She shows how to use all of the equipment. Signed up for a membership, with the lowest package, plus manager promissed a bonus of 50 LT bucks. Never got those, he was saying it was due to a glitch in the system.(W...?) Upon signing up for a volleyball league I asked activity desk member if it was free and she said yes. After 2 games I got charged $30 and they all say it's in the paperwork I signed. Why the hell you're telling me it's free?! This is how they make their customers never come back. Trying to put yor membership on hold? They will never tell you ahead of time that you'll have to pay $10/month for nothing. Cancellation 1 month in advance. Why? Never ever again. read more
