Joined today after did a trial here and several other gyms at different price points, but this gym honestly had everything I needed. The negatives reviews I read I didn't see. It's clean, and was able to workout easily. The overcrowding there is a lot of people but gym big and I only waited once. They also have the only women area the best. The jacuzzi had seen posting not working it is people were in there. Next weekend plan to take advantage of sauna and jacuzzi and yoga class happy with my choice. read more

The Front Desk Team, including Sparkle, the Manager, Matthew, and Quieyonna, go out of their way to make the overall experience of coming to that Gym be the best it can possibly be. Despite challenges that include equipment breakdowns. Horrible compared to most La fitness facilities. Water fountains either dont work or low pressure. Always short staffed which leads to no tissue being replaced or weights being put away. Biggest issue is there is no ventilation in free weights area! Members always have to open back door for air or have to leave due to humidity. Management just keeps signing up new members and not doing anything about pre existing issues! Ill be ending my membership in summer if its not addressed. Its a sauna in there! read more

Sauna doesn't work. Machines are broken. It smells half the time and the bathrooms aren't clean. People leave smelly clothes in the lockers. Honestly the management team or LA Fitness corporate has stopped caring about this location. You might as well cancel your membership and go to Crunch or Blink, that's what we're basically paying 3x the amount of their membership for. Same quality as Blink or Crunch. One star is too generous for the gym. It begins with the front desk where most, not all, of the staff is arrogant, unhelpful, unknowledgeable and too busy on their phones to care if you checked in. This morning 4 were hovered together talking and too preoccupied to assist with an issue. They never respond to anything and say to call corporate but corporate is never available if they answer; they are usually closed. When open, a kid takes your name and nothing is ever done. There is never a manager at this facility. When there is one, the manager quits once realizing that as manager, there is no authority to accomplish anything in this facility that has inadequate, if any, air conditioning, only one set of weights in each level but impossible to find if not hidden or stolen, at least 12 broken treadmills, NO INtERNET MOST OF THE TIME, TV's rarely work but if they do, there are only 2 or 3 channels and no place for phone wires since the access buttons are also broken, no wipes to clean the equipment which is so dirty and smelly, and it should all be condemned. There is a pool and when there is no class, a lifeguard usually sits with the door open so that the hot air from the pool makes the rest of the gym warmer and the lifeguard is always sitting with his head down reading his phone. The parking lot has numerous enormous pot holes. People fall and have been rushed to the hospital; I have had to replace 3 tires, but there is no way to report this to the landlord. Corporate does not care about this location, its mostly nasty employees, filthy equipment, inadequate weights, broken treadmills, machines and other equipment, broken TV's, usually no Internet and inadequate air conditioning when it does work. THe bathrooms are another issue. The gym needs all new equipment, staff, and cleaning supplies that are replenished when used. It needs maintenance daily, a manager for everything who has authority, fitness director, bathroom attendant, air conditioning, weights, someone to check the time the classes begin and end because they are always much shorter than the schedule says they should be and wipes to clean equipment. This gym could be great if LA Fitness answers the phones, has people at corporate speak to the members and then RESPOND TO THEIR COMPLAINTS WITH ACTION instead of doing NOTHING OVER AND OVER, hires a manager with authority who cares, turns on the air conditioning based upon the temperature in the facility, replaces the equipment, manages the staff including the fitness instructors who answer to no one, hire 24/7 maintenance, having working internet and HVAC! This gym has wholly the worst, most abysmal, dishonest customer service that I've ever experienced. I've been trying to cancel a service with them for over a month. When I signed up, I was told that it would be simple and easy to cancel this service for any reason. I was not shown the contract that I was signing, I was just told to initial in places, since employees were "explaining" it to me. I asked many questions about how to cancel for various reasons. They said it's easy to cancel and/or get refunded if I needed to. But this was all verbal signing over the employees computer. BIG MISTAKE!!! It's basically impossible to get in touch with anyone (can't get to the appropriate person in the gym at the right time, and can't ever speak to someone at corporate). But in the rare occasion that I can actually get through to someone, I've been thoroughly dismissed. Everyone who works at corporate will lie to you. They will just try to scam you for money. PLEASE go to another gym and avoid la fitness as a whole if you can!! read more

The place is no longer as bad as the reviews where everything seemed to be horrible based into he reviews.....but it's not up to par either. Today, February 2 I went to the front desk to inform them that the bathroom no longer had soap and toilet paper cover seats. The guy said, "I'll write that down and acted like he got a pen to write it down." So 3 hours later after I finished my workout and went to the mens room to wash my hands. Guess what? No soap, and no cover seats. The gym looks nice but has terrible staff. They just don't care. That's the impress they have given me. The weights are not re-tacked. Nobody is going around taking care of the place regularly. The gym has potential to be amazing but if the staff of average the place will be average and a let down. That's my 2 cents. read more

This is the LA Fitness closest to my home and I come here simply for convenience. If you're looking for a gym with decent equipment and no extras, I'd say it may be an option. But there are some major concerns/downfalls of this location. 1. The HIIT center is NEVER open any longer. When I first came years ago there were classes but hasn't been for at least a year. 2. They are now ended the Kids Klub permanently, so if you want your kiddos watched don't come here. 3. The newer staff is NOT the best at all. They don't really address concerns, they close when they want, and the other day this new trainer (male) walked directly into the WOMENS ONLY section and looked around for weights while he was training a female client. Last time I checked the manager/owner wouldn't even walk into the women's section without the permission of all the women inside. Lastly it's decently clean and lots of the cardio equipment is down/not working. Overall I wouldn't recommend coming here if you're looking for a quality gym experience. It's unfortunate because I actually really enjoyed coming here when I first signed up; but I may find a new gym altogether. I wouldn't be surprised if it closed soon. SB, this past Labor Day as you entered the gym they were telling everyone they were closing at 3:30 instead of the reg 4o clock for holidays. may not sound like a big deal but when you plan your workout accordingly and get there expecting to have at minimum 1 1/2 - 2 hours, it's very inconvenient. read more

Great gym except that they play RAP music constantly and loud through the speaker system, which is everywhere. Some people even bring their own speakers and play loud music in the men's dressing room. It's like one big RAP PARTY! LA Fitness quality has drastically deteriorated. Pristine when I first joined and now all of the benches are in this state. Doesn't appear management cares. Weights are never where they're supposed to be. They're all over the gym and not even in the free weight section. Wasn't enforcing masks even though they made you put it on when you first entered... Absolutely terrible customer service. The sauna at the facility has been closed for almost 3 months with no plans for its re-opening. I've spoken to multiple managers who have no clue or don't care to even attempt to fix the sauna, which is one of the main attractions of this location. I've been told by different managers now that I should go to a different LA fitness location 30 mins away, or to do their job and call corporate to file a complaint. There seems to be no one who actually cares about fixing or resolving any issues there. If you were looking for a gym with a sauna then forget about it here as it seems this will still take several months to fix after my conversation with the manager before cancelling my membership. Let's start this off by saying that I would've much rather found a solution to all my complaints about this place long before posting a negative review but considering that's not possible, here I am. There is one now, and their hours? Specifically only work week hours, so how do you get to talk to them? By taking a day off work just to voice your complaints in person. A little ridiculous no? Here's my list of complaints about this location - Layout: complete cluster****, it's pretty obvious someone who doesn't workout came up with it. DB rack is an out of wack free for all, with one million machines right behind it, the few cable machines are all on top of each other that gives you no personal space between yourself and the person next to you, only one power rack in the whole gym(???) and all the benches are screwed into the floor, once again leaving you with no personal space and no ability to customize your workout as you wish. Moneys worth: something worth noting when considering giving this gym your money: they have one set of rubber plates and one set of kettlebells. Unless you're paying extra for a personal trainer you're not allowed to use either. If you're thinking you can use them when there's no personal training going on, think again, they lock them up. Same goes for the tiny five feet of turf they have, the sled push, boxes, ropes, and hard floor for deadlifts. I also don't believe I should be giving a gym all of its membership fees if I can't even move a bench to have it in the position I want, but we've already touched on that. Cell service for music and personal workout applications to accompany your workout and or emergencies? Non-existent. Cleanliness: I just walked in and noticed a clump of wet paper towels on the floor that were there from yesterday... in the middle of a global pandemic, you tell me. All in all; 2 stars. Where do I begin, staff and management are useless, they don't care and act like this gym is all inclusive, the mold on the ceilings, the stains on the ceilings from leaks, the dust and hair on studio floors, the broken, never fixed in a timely manner equipment, the broken sauna that fails to be repaired and no notice as to when it would be fixed, the instructors that come in late time and time again and end class early or just don't show up, the constant smell of smoke and weed...need I go on. This LA Fitness location is brand new and as good as it gets. As I'm in Brooklyn for the most part, let's talk about how much more space Long Island has!! The parking lot is huge, the gym is huge - there's even a swimming pool on the same floor. I can't even count how many cardio machines there are because there are so many. The front desk girl continues to remember who I am when I walk through the door which is an added plus. This gym is a whole mess. The weights are thrown about all over the floor the womens room is always a mess . The staff does not make announcements about putting weights back when your done nor do they go around and do like half hour "clean ups" like the planet fitness around the block does. The front desk staff barely greets you when u come in and if u say hi they look bothered. If I didnt not spend a little over 200$ to just join this club I would for sure cancel. Nobody reracks, gym equipment is all over the place, dumbbells & bars not in the designated areas. Facility can be filthy, overflowing garbage, urine all over the floor by the urinals where very easy to slip. Older LA Fitnesses I've gone to seem to be way better maintained. The headrests pads on benches and by dumbbell area are already chewed up and need replacement. If there was a better option in the area I'd jump ship. read more

1.This gym is still new and clean and the equipment is not yet torn. 2.However, it is most annoying that the staff and the manager attempt to force you out of the facility a full 15 minutes before closing time. Staff insist that this particular facility is closed, 5 minutes prior to closing time, and threaten to end your membership if you do not leave 5 minutes early. The manager insists that the police force them to close 5 minutes early. First they turn off the air, then dim the lights and then come around and harass the members to leave, prematurely. None of the other LaFitness gyms force you out this early. 3. It is nice that this facility provides towels, body lotion and also a hair drier is available for customer use. 4. Unfortunately, the pool is too small; it is equipped with only 2 swimming lanes. Therefore, only two members can swim at a time, comfortably.So if you definitely plan to swim, this facility is not a good option. 5. Additionally, the facility seems claustrophobic, since the ceiling is too low and there are no windows in the weight lifting and the exercise machine areas. 6. Also, there are not enough conventional machines (cybex/fitness).The rocker machines are annoying. I usually need to wait to use a leg machine. 7. The most annoying thing is that, instead of asking the members in the area whether a water bottle/s belongs to the members working out in the area, the staff routinely dispose of one's water bottles while they are working out in the area ( ie: the leg area), without asking whether anyone owns the bottle. As a result, when the thirsty person gets off the machine looking for their water, their water bottle is gone. After several minutes of looking around for their water bottle and then hunting for the cleaning person, the cleaning person asserts that he is only doing his job, instead of apologizing to the member and agreeing to ask before disposing of water bottles prematurely, the next time. The water bottles should only be thrown out if unclaimed after the facility has closed. read more

Great place. I give this place a four star because compared to the new Hyde park one and other I've visited it is spike and slam clean. They constantly keeping on top of the wet floors, dirt, sanitary condition is just superb. The only thing I would add is perhaps have the drinking fountain in the pool area working and have some towels at the gym (even those small facial towel). read more

The best part about this facility is it's staff. Main downfalls Certain things are broken that never get fixed Sauna has been down for almost two months. This place is cool - but only for adults. I see that they have a kids club , but it seems that the kids club is built for younger much younger kids. Besides for T.v nothing really else to do for a 6 year old expect watch t.v which they can do the same thing at home. Not sure if it is worth the money. This location is absolutely horrible. What makes it horrible is not the facility it's the employees. I came in for the first time, I had know idea where anything was located. The guy at the reception said the sales manager NEIL could show me around. I get introduced to the sales manager named NEIL and his first question is "are you a member " I said yes because I joined online. Once he heard I was a member he sad "Oh your a member, well this is your place, go and explore ". So I guess since he couldn't sell me anything, he didn't feel the need to show me around the gym. So I walked around myself trying to figure out where things were located, like the women's locker etc. 2nd visit, I was so excited because I was going to meet with a trainer. When you sign up you are entitled to 1 free training assessment session where they go over your goals etc. This experience was not only disappointing, it caused me to immediately cancel my membership right after the so called session. This guy named DARREN RAMROOP who is supposed to be the fitness manager sat me down and explained the science of our bodies for at least 30 minutes. Then he takes me on the floor and he teaches me how to do squats and we do some moves with light weight dumbbells. So far so good I thought. Then he said let's go back to my desk and we will go over your weight, measurement, goals etc. I'm like YESSSSSSSSS we are finally getting to the part I have been waiting for. So he pulls out this sheet with prices on it regarding personal training classes. He is trying to sell me services. Okay I understand he is trying to make money. I explained to him I was laid off due to covid and I couldn't afford to add any extras in my membership right now. So he says "give me a number of what you can afford". Now I'm starting to feel like I am at a car lot. Then he tries to sell me HIIT CLASSES. What made this take a terrible turn was when he said "what did you think this was free"? Um yes, at least the 1free training assessment session you are promised when joining. He says "your not gonna get any results " So basically he is saying if I don't sign up for this extra stuff, I'm not going to get any weight loss results. Then I explained at the ymca they do a whole evaluation and help you set your goals when your new and you go from there. He said "Well this is not the Y". Then to end the session he says "Good luck to you" and basically dismissed me. WHAT??? THIS IS THE FREE ASSESSMENT??. A SALES PITCH AND INSULTS??? I couldn't believe it. After that I immediately canceled my membership and called corporate. Corporate couldn't believe it either. Darren is definitely in the wrong field. He should be a used car salesman instead of a so called fitness trainer. This man couldn't care less about your weight loss. If your not buying into the extra services they don't want to be bothered. I've been too many La fitness's from Florida to Texas and Long Island, and this facility is run so unprofessional... it's Dirty, and in the middle of a pandemic one would think management would rev up cleanliness. Since every other cardio equip is prohibited from being used due to 6' rule, I asked if a specific piece of cardio equipment be swapped (they only have 4 and only 2 available at any given time) I was told by the manager, flat out NO! I proceeded to give my justification and I again was told NO "that's how the gym is set-up. Not once did he even "look" at the area I was suggesting - so much for accommodating members! Tried to cancel training because of covid and they said I will have to pay FIFTY PERCENT of remaining sessions NOT to use the sessions. The lady on the phone claims I signed a contract. It's not a bad gym, it's just not great. It's got a good amount of cardio machines and the trip to the gym is very convenient for me because I live locally. But that's honestly where the convenience ends, the Gym is right next to a Target, Burlington and Marshall's and has to share parking with all 3 so very rarely is parking readily available. Another complaint would be a lack of Deadlifting platforms, there's only one and it's in the personal training area, more than that the lat pull down machines and seated cable rows are pretty lackluster. The Positives are the benches are almost never unavailable, and the wide area of pre/post workout meals around. read more
