I believe LA Fitness's business is on a downtrend trajectory. One of their locations on Highway 6 recently closed, causing the members to flood other locations. Now you have staff who is snapping at their customers. It's not her fault, but this is a management issue. She is not well-trained to handle the hectic environment. If the situation does not improve soon, then I have no choice but to switch. read more

Tried to utilize guest pass and staff said you cannot use basketball court with the guest pass but online it clearly states you can. Staff seemed hostile and looking for trouble whether than inviting guests with welcoming attitudes. Highly disappointed in this encounter especially from an establishment who states they uphold the upmost quality. read more

I can't believe David fired Larry my trainer right before my 9:00 am training session this morning. Larry is one the best trainers at Aliana and for management o be so unprofessional as not to have a replacement trainer available and do it in front of me sends a bad message to customers. To top it off, since I refuse to renew my training contract I have to complete my 9 remaining sessions by the end of the month. Oh and I need to find myself a trainer because they aren't sure which one is avaiable. read more

I reported the poor conditions when I started my work out , and two hours later it is still messy. This place use to be spotless. I saw a clean up person in the janitor room sitting, and I guess he stayed sitting. There is another choice near by ; I will try that gym next time. Not sure why there are so many negative reviews. This is hands down the best LA Fitness I've been to. They have your standard equipment, plus a cool cross Training area, pilates, large sauna and a steam room. I went 2 hours before closing on Thanksgiving and while it was super packed, I was still able to get a decent workout in. I'm glad they finally decided to get some updated imagery for the walls. I've been a member for 10+ years and have had to look at the same models on the wall for a decade. read more

I was blatantly misled when I signed up. The staff told me I could use the pool any time, which was the ONLY reason I agreed to pay for the full year upfront. Now that I'm actually trying to use it, I'm being turned away because "there's a 2-person-per-lane limit"--something that was never mentioned when I signed up. So basically, I paid for a service I can't use. And when I asked for a refund, they said no--because apparently, their employees are allowed to make FALSE PROMISE, and I'm the one stuck paying for it. This is DISHONEST and UNACCEPTABLE. This is hands down the worst gym location I've ever been to. The level of neglect is beyond frustrating. The showers are always nasty, with clumps of hair left behind like no one ever bothers to clean. The machines are just as dirty, used napkins are constantly left in the cup holders, and no one seems to care. I come in at 4:30am almost every morning and the place is already filthy. The cleaning staff is incredibly lazy.i've seen them multiple times just sitting around on their phones, doing absolutely nothing while the gym is a mess. One time, I even saw the cleaning lady flat ironing her hair in the restroom instead of cleaning.The staff are completely unprofessional. They never greet anyone. They just stand around the front desk chatting with each other. There are also time where they just leave the desk unattended for long periods.Recently, they even put up a sign saying they'll no longer accept verbal phone number check-ins--you not have to buy a 4 dollars tag. It's just another example of how little they value their members. Sanitizer wipes are rarely restocked, and you offen have to hunt someone down just to get more. It's clear that cleanliness, customer service, and basic gym standards are not a priority here. Honestly, I wish I could give this place negative five stars. That's how bad it is. read more

I've been to several LA Fitness locations, but the Belfort branch is by far the most poorly maintained. The equipment is rough and clearly in need of oiling or greasing. Despite raising this concern, nothing has been done. Out of six cable machines, there is only one straight bar and one curl bar available -- and the manager seems to think this is acceptable. This doesn't reflect the standards of the LA Fitness brand or justify the membership fees being charged. I sincerely hope this is addressed soon. read more

I attempted to contact the manager, Kevin, and the front desk multiple times on wed 1/10/24 at 3:30, but unfortunately, my calls went unanswered. This lack of response was frustrating and contributed to my overall dissatisfaction with the customer service at LA Fitness located at 19409 w Bellfort st Richmond Tx 77407 I was going to cancel my membership with the manager named Kevin on the phone he disrespectfully answered me and put me on hold for 15 minutes and then hanged up on me. When I called again no one answered my call, I tried several times but no one answered. I called them with different phone number , they answered right away. I asked front desk girl named Jesse to get me the manager she said he can't answer the phone and no one is available at front desk and put me on hold for several minutes again till I hang up. They are so incredibly rude and unwelcoming at this location. I love the gym itself but how they treat guests is so poor. I'm torn because I love this gym but every time I take a guest with me they complain about the staffs attitude and they never want to come back. Especially the woman with the braids, on one occasion I stood at the front desk waiting for 5 minutes while she was on a call because she had the scanner in her hand....under the counter part of the desk. Writing after 1 yr 3 month experience with LA fitness & in good spirit to let other customers know how poorly this business is running. In general expect poor customer service and false promises. Writing this as no choice left as it's very difficult to reach training instructor Marcus (person i dealt with during sign up). He or staff would not return texts, phone calls at LA F locations but will make empty promises, so don't count on it. instructor he assigns will schedule session, when I arrive for training and messaging, I would know from instructor that he has left. no remorse and no apologizing for disservice. Sign up staff and personal training staff wants to lure you in to their poorly managed facility and staff with subpar ethics. After you sign up, your instructor, personal training manager may be changed few times so you can't keep anyone accountable. Most trainers not available outside of your office hours. Equipments are new but sauna is not working for months. Another issue is, I was keep getting charge on my credit cards after personal training time (6 month) expired. When I asked to pause, manager Marcus cancelled it without knowing my next steps or options. Then told me he will have it reinstate by corporate but relocated to Cinco Ranch and would not answer phone calls or multiple messages. It's worse customer service and outright poor ethics by him... It is very frustrating to see how low business and ethnics can go. Wish to report to corporate if they are actually reading reviews and training people. read more

I've been to clubs all over the US where I travel and this is a very nice club. Not just becuase it's new, but it's clear they took some market research or design thinking into the layout because it makes a lot of sense. Open format, designated rooms for some specialty classes which is very nice. I wish the local team would have kept the community more abreast as to their opening. Looks like a bait and switch. I signed up for personal training and have accrued a number of sessions which I was told would not expire. Well, they no longer have personal trainers, they have Master Trainers and I am not able to take advantage of what I have paid for! I have been in several times and spoke to several folks. I recently joined this gym since it is closer to my house, I previously went to a planet fitness however this gym is FILTHY! It's obvious that they are more concerned with recruiting members than the safety of our community. The amount of dust on the equipment is not something that has built up over a week or two but never cleaned. The westheimer location is bigger and has more equipment, far more recourses are available and yet it's not a signature club¿ Modern architecture and newer toys is all their selling. This gym has a great location, and that is probably its only perk. If I had any other option I would gladly leave. This gym is disgusting. There is always dirt, hair and dust everywhere. Machines and faculties are half the time broken or torn. They lock up the hiit room weights and also the aerobic room weights. Due to this customers are forced to carry weights into these areas across the gym to use weights. This leads to weights and equipment everywhere. I suggested they open this up, but management says they will have to pick up weights then. Employees do not clean at night or in the morning causing there to be a culture of equipment everywhere. The Pilates room has been closed for over a year and they haven't returned to pre pandemic hours. Clearly there is a need for more space to do floor weights, why are you all wasting so much space with these fitness rooms with minimal classes and times. With all the apartments building I don't see how this place will sustain. Please someone open up another gym here!! read more

The one and ONLY problem I have with this location is there is equipment EVERYWHERE. Why do I find the 15 pound dumbbell near the cardio area? I just think staff and guests could do better with putting thing where they belong. Doesn't the night shift clean up after everyone's gone? I've been to about 3 LA fitness gyms. 1 in Cali and two in the richmond/katy area. This is the only location that has this problem. Other than that I enjoy this gym! read more

Who doesn't like a brand new gym? It seems a bit smaller than I expected but I think it's just the layout. Once I kind of figured out where everything is, I think it has a good flow. I didn't see a lot of "body builders" hogging the free weights, so that's definitely a plus. read more

Very clean gym! I've been to a few LA Fitness gyms and this one in Richmond, TX is by far the cleanest. This a Signature Club so it offers a lot more than your average LA Fitness. It includes a basketball court, aerobics room, Cycle room, HIIT room, an area with turf for training, sauna, pool, and much more. They also offer towel service, which is super neat. Because this is a new gym, some areas smelled like fresh paint (mostly the basketball court). The equipments and weights were all brand new and clean. Visiting Texas for a few weeks, and took it upon myself to get a guest pass here. Disappointed in the staff professional and the over all organization of the facility. Turf area has become the gossip circle for local teenagers, all they do is take up space while others are actually trying to work out. She is seriously knowledgeable as she has been in bodybuilding competitions in the past. I've been working with her twice a week for the past few months and I'm already stronger and more defined than before when I was working out on my own. I joined La Fitness on 11/2023 and I did sign for personal training with them for $360 a month (8 sessions monthly), i did Tell the sales person who helped me that it is so expensive and i am not sure if i can afford it, he said that i can cancel at anytime and to go and talk to him or the manager, i asked him to speak to the manager (The Lady at the front desk) and she did assure me to go and talk to her whenever i want to cancel and she will cancel it for me and i do not have to pay anything for cancellation (Zero $), I am not able to afford the Monthly fee of $360, I have been trying to cancel the personal training and they want to charge me $900+, which is not fair specially that the manager assured me that i do not have to pay anything if I decided to cancel. I did call the corporate office and they keep saying the same thing. It is not fair for big corporations to take advantage of consumers like this (I didn't take any product from them or cost them anything) I never had this situation happen to me. Really impressed with La Fitness. My only complaint was when they had to close/reduce hours (out of necessity), for COVID which was completely out of their control. My La Fitness trainer Ellyen Diermissen is amazing. She's very knowledgeable and very in tune to the exercises I need during each session, to help me meet my fitness goals. It's a rip off this people will tell you they have 16 trainers available which is not they hardly have 4 trainers and even if you get personal training don't get trap for contract. Everything is good so far. Not over crowded around 9 pm. I noticed that a lot of clients don't wipe their machines down after use or take their empty bottles. During opening there were a bunch of incorrect information about rates that bothered me however we were glad for the saving.
