I'm a long-time LA Fitness member and deeply disappointed with how the Kids Club manager Carol at the Tolleson location handled my daughter's situation. My daughter is autistic and recently had a meltdown while in Kids Club, which included biting--a behavior directly related to her diagnosis. Instead of approaching me in person, I received an email saying she was suspended, with no meeting, no written report, and no effort to understand her needs or plan for support. As a parent of a child with special needs, I expected compassion, communication, and collaboration--not exclusion. This experience felt dismissive, ableist, and completely lacking in understanding of autism. I'm sharing this because I want LA Fitness to do better for families like mine. A gym that advertises as family-friendly must do more than offer childcare--it must offer inclusive, trained, and empathetic care. I've also submitted a formal complaint to corporate. I hope no other autism family is treated this way again. I also cancelled my membership. read more

Staff? GREAT! Facility? Great! Members? Lacking CONSIDERATION and overall COGNIZANCE pertaining to the members around them. For instance, as I type this review, there is a gentlemen in a red shirt on the seated leg press TALKING ON THE PHONE! He's fully aware of the fact that 2 gentlemen attempted to use that machine before him but he spoke to the young lady on the machine before him first making him next in line. At this very moment, I am the 3rd member in line for this one and only machine. He's aware of two. And he's on his phone? TALKING on his phone? Who even TALKS on their phones in 2025??? read more

More free weight machines, more cable machines, there's no reason for two "grass" areas when it's not even organized, the disinfectant wipes are the worst kind, and teach people to put equipment back in its designated spot, why are there 3/4 desk when they are never in use at the same time everything can be done through a tablet, why complicate things, so much real estate no being used to its potential. Remove the pool and add a steam room, people would prefer that over a pool. read more

One of the worst la fitness I have ever been. My favorite location was closed for renovation so I tried this one equipments was old.. no airflow, it seems like it's super hot and smells of sweat.. No paper tower available when I was there. I had to run across gym to find one. In the end I have to go to the bathroom every time I need paper tower... And then there were guys smoking e cigarettes in the bathroom.. Never again! read more

Not a good gym. I wish there was a 24 Hr fitness or a good gym in the area. They have closed this gym for remodeling three times now. Each time they add to the area for trainers only. Taking machines away from every one else. If you walk across the "trainers only" area you get scolded. Now unless you pay for a trainer, you have to wait for machines. If you are looking to transform and elevate yourself than this is the place. Anyone can join a "gym". This place is so much more than that. That's because of the staff who really are more like extended family. Mason is the mastermind or "Super Hero" (as he prefers) behind it all. You will never meet a more pleasant or inspirational person in your life. He personally has elevated me and my mind on many visits and he always goes out of his way to not only greet you but make sure you had a pleasant time as you head out. If you didnt...he is all ears and will go above and beyond to make it right. All of his "family" he has to assist you as well are all equally wonderful . This facility has everything you need to help you accomplish elevating or transforming whatever you desire. It's never too crowded and it's always clean. There is a pool, sauna, hot tub well kept bathrooms and spacious changing areas with lockers. They also have a child care center which is a major bonus. The music is never too loud and there is always a positive vibe here. Again, anyone can join or find a gym. This is so much more!!! read more

I paid for a year of personal trainer sessions and accumulated more than 20 sessions, the reason i didnt go is because I suffer from depression so was sick, then they called me and gave another month for $45 to do my sessions I did a few but due to my problem I couldn't do more, I asked them to work with me and asked them if i could just save my sessions for a later time and they said NO, so I told them to cancel so I dont continue paying the $45 a month for a class a month, and they said OK nothing else, In my opinion they should have been more understanding and work with me since instead of blowing me off, I had already paid them $125 a month for a year. I asked to speak with a Manager and he said I am the Manager there is norhing I can do! read more

MUSIC WAY TOO LOUD! My primary gym is in Laveen Village but I come to this one occasionally because they have different workout equipment. It does not matter to me that the gym is really small, has no racquetball courts and no basketball court, I can get that at my other LA Fitness gyms. This location is continually a horrible experience no matter what time I go. Turn the damn music down! The gym is not a dance club. The music is so loud that I have to turn my music up loud to drown out their music. Then, my music is so loud that I can't focus and my ear drums hurt, and to add insult to injury, I can still hear their music! I don't care what music you play, just turn it down. The patrons listen to and bring their own music anyway. I cannot recommend this location if there are other choices. read more

My biggest only real complaints is the music can be loud and the pool area is just overpowerful with the smell of chlorine. Other than that it is clean, nice variety of equipment, and quiet on the weekends (sometimes). I really like this gym, and the staff can be helpful if you need them. read more

I enjoy coming to this location. They used to pressure members to use their coaches but I haven't seen that lately. It's more laid back now. I am very happy that they finally replaced their shower heads. The old ones used to hurt the water came out so strong. I would give this location 5 stars if they would have rowing machine and changing rooms like other locations. I have to fo to another location just to use the rowing machine when this is the closest. Most of the time the personal at this location are friendly and acknowledge your presence with a hello and a good-bye. This place is usually the cleanest locations I have been to. On occasions the shower area sometimes need cleaning. The only personnel that aren't that friendly are those trying to sell you membership. I rarely ever see them smile. read more

This location is close to my home. Has the iPod hook-up to the treadmill, so I can watch HBO from my iPhone while running. And I no longer have to pay for the crazy high prices I did at Lifetime (though nothing compares to Lifetime). I highly recommend this location. Avoid the busy hours. And I just wish that the dirty hamsters that come here would be yelled at for not wiping down their sweat from the machines. Bring gym towels people. :/ The cleaning crew does work hard to pick up the mess these people leave behind. That's my only complaint. read more

This location isn't too bad after all. I've been coming here for about a year and haven't had a bad experience. They do have a few trainers that have been here for a while, I would say T is the best, her clients have fun and it seems as if they've had the most results. On the sales side, it's someone new almost every month. You cant really make a connection there with anyone. The front desk staff isn't too bad, they are friendly (a few girls friendlier than others). There's the one who works in the mornings, lupe, always has a smile on her face and has never missed greeting anyone. You can definitely tell she enjoys working with us the customers. Even when she's on the phone, she'll still give a smile. The cleaning staff does a great job at keeping it all clean and they're all really friendly. The kids klub girls are super sweet with the children, the newer girls in there are learning but you can tell they have fun with the kids. All in all, the place isn't bad. Friendly people, clean gym and easy to get a work out done. One bad thing.. sucky music, I have noticed some newer music but still, bring your own :) read more

I wasn't getting the results that I was looking for. So I went down to my local LA Fitness. And surprisingly, felt comfortable about joining the gym. The people were friendly and knowledgeable. Staff turnover is too high. I personally don't like the limited hours as compared to their other locations. Additionally, there are no sports courts at this location. Lastly, the kid care is always understaff which could be a huge liability issue. read more

I called LA Fitness because of a membership I never requested that was being charged to my account, leaving my account without enough money to feed my family for the week. I NEVER JOINED AND HAVE NOT USED THIS MEMBERSHIP. I even changed my card number hoping it would keep the charges from happening. They somehow continued to charge my account. I called, and they refused to refund the money they've stolen from my account. They say I have to go into a gym, which I have never been into, to ensure that no future funds come out of my account. This month, they have taken a total of 170 dollars from my account without my permission. Now I have to take time off from work to go in and cancel a membership I never asked for nor approved. THEY REFUSE TO REFUND THE MONEY THEY HAVE STOLEN. They are a bunch of crooks. read more

Let me just say I completely support wearing mask I believe it will make a difference in making sure everyone can stay safe not just for yourself but for others safety as well. But please do not pick and choose when someone can or cannot wear a mask it applies to all. And when you need someone to put their mask on please handle it in a professional manner, doesn't hurt to just ask. Laughing at someone because of it is not a good way to communicate and go about it people can take it wrong. Not just that don't talk over someone when someone is trying to communicate their reasons, unprofessional. Out of the few years I've been a loyal member at LA Fitness never have I felt so uncomfortable of the situation or have I ever had a situation at this location. Today was just a disappointment. Would recommend training to go over professionalism and how to approach your members/customers. I hate to leave a comment not my cup of tea but was uncomfortable. I wrote my review a few months ago and since then have seen very drastic improvements. As I mentioned initially, meatheads/barbies will always be there as will busy-hours and lame music. But the some of the big ones I mentioned last time have changed for the better: 1) Facilities maintenance: Since the staff changed, I've noticed the individual charged with this task tries to not to be interrupt in any way. He does a very good job, he does a much faster job, and it's worth re-iterating: he himself is neither seen nor heard, only the results of his job are seen (a clean gym). 2) Personal trainers: The "bros" as I called them previously have either left or have stopped their previous ways. I see nothing but caring staff who truly love fitness and really want to help others find the same passion and commitment to being healthier. From nutrition plans to individual/group personal training packages...I'm very pleased with the changes this location has made since I wrote my first assessment. 3) Group fitness staff: Still the same. Scratch that: worse. What used to be only a half-hour of extra zumba (loud as all hell for TWO people) has become an extra hour-and-a-half. There's no reasoning, there's no pleading, there's no compromising, there's no bargaining, there is only zumba. All in all, a much noticed change in the last weeks. The place has gotten much better and I would recommend it to most people. I say most because there are individuals who prefer a smaller or more personal/private environment and given the nature of LA Fitness (popular fitness club), you just won't find it. Sorry bout it. j/k, not sorry. As with anything, the decision is ultimately yours. You could find this place to be just what you're looking for or the bane of all gyms. But, read my previous review compared to this one and you'll see that this place is at least worth giving a shot. Great location, prices are a bit expensive ( that's the only reason why I left) I had a great trainer for a year LINDIA, I lost 20 lbs with her help. I worked on a mix of cardio and weights with her help. LINDIA helped me with my physical fitness Training for law enforcement as well! I got results and felt/see the result now. Still working out to maintain weight loss and trying to lose more weight! :) currently with a different gym though, cheaper price for member ship and trainer.........LOL But if you LOVE zumba, the sauna and the pool, LA FITNESS is worth it unless your broke like me! read more

This gym is great. However, staff needs to implement or enforce the no gym bag in weight room. It is quite annoying to see people carry huge gym bags. First there is a locker room and if you have gear to use simply get a smaller bag or carry your items. read more

I have been going to this LA Fitness since November. I signed up with a trainer, Lindia and so far I have lost 7 pounds and 27 inches! Lindia is a great trainer, very supportive. The staff is friendly and care about their clients! I would recommend to anyone! read more

I would give it 3.5. I've had an LA fitness membership since I was 17 and have started going to this one since it opened in November. This location is good for your average guy and great for beginners. Not alot of members here that are way advanced. That being said, if you are advanced, dumb bells only go to 100 pounds. It is not 24 hours and closes at 8 on weekends. Also, like nostrils family friendly gym, there is alot of socializing and grunting when pushing serious weight is a no go. read more

The lady who is said to be Operations Manager here is a JOKE! I go in to this club just about every morning (Mon-Fri) and all I ever see her doing is be on her CELL phone. She is rude with us members and never seems to be having a good day. I have seen the way she treats the staff and have over heard how unhappy most of the girls who work for her are. I have a child that I bring to kids klub here and also found out she fired the one girl who worked really hard and who is always doing something with the children. If anything, she should take a look at some of the other employees who don't do half as much as the one she fired. Definitely thinking about cancelling. read more
