Why do you let teens workout for free in the summer? There are about 50 in there when I workout during the week m-f Fromm 11-1. It's literal hell now. All the kids clicked up talking by the machines not letting paying customers use. The teens are loud and disrespectful. They don't clean the machines after they use them. The staff is friendly, which I want to give them credit for. However, the locker room is incredibly dirty. There is no paper towels and no soap at the sink. The shower floors and cutting are moldy. There is trash all over. This place needs some maintenance and cleaning. read more

I've been working out here for 4 months and I've decided to cancel my membership because today they turned me away for using my sister's account even though I pay for the membership. I'm sure I will be much happier at a different gym near me where they have understanding team members that don't power trip. while I'm here, the gym experience itself was okay, nothing special. could use more equipment but you can get a good workout in. You also need to bring your own headphones if you're working out because the times that I forgot I end up losing focus on my workout due to the brain rot they play on the speakers. read more

After coming to this location for the last couple of months, I feel like I need to take away a star or two. While I do love it for it's overall spaciousness and a very large stretching area, there have been some things that have popped up that just make me shake my head a bit. For one thing, I don't know what's going on but all of a sudden people are bringing bags and dropping them all over the floor. Like even in the stretching area, there are just bags against the wall during the busy time in the evenings. I'm not sure why the staff isn't telling people that they can't do that. I sort of put that in the back of my head thinking it was just a fluke but then some other things started popping up in the next couple of weeks after that. People really talking on their phones loudly, lots of teenagers gathered around machines, and just overall the environment getting a little bit more intimidating. And they usually when I see this stuff happen, there's about four or five staff members behind the counter just very casually having fun with each other. Like it takes five people find the counter to run the place Look, I go to planet fitness because it's not supposed to be intimidating. Some people disagree with that and don't feel like snowflakes should be catered to. But I honestly feel like planet fitness's mission is what got me to the gym in the first place. I don't like to be intimidated and I just like it when people follow the rules. Today sort of motivated me though to write this review. There was a guy who came back to the stretching area and stuffed his jacket and a bag in the corner and then plugged his phone into the wall. The wall was behind a couple of machines and he stood there on his phone for a while while it was charging. He even had a couple of loud phone conversations. So I'm back there for near the entire hour and didn't see a single staff member come around. There was even a lady who kept looking at the guy thinking he would move out of the way but he didn't pay anyone any attention. And I hate to say it but he pretty much looked like he may have been homeless and the entire time he was there, he did not do a single thing of exercise. He could be someone who just pays the $10 a month to be able to use the shower and charge his phone but that's not what it's there for. Anyway, that's why I'm writing this today. First day at this gym.. first day back at gym since shit down. This gym is straight up legit. Clean and organized not like other gym where the plates are on the walls etc. The 30min workout room has a lot of machines as well. Lockers are clean and spaced out. I would of given the gym 5 stars but I would want EOS equipment( free barbel squats, farmers carry etc) but no biggie, I'll be here daily as well. read more

I've been a member for almost a year now, mostly due to the fact it is super close to my home so it makes it a convenient to work out in the morning. I am so grateful to be able to go to the gym at 4:00 AM, but I have been there and nobody from PF opens up on time. I don't have much time to waist in the morning so I just skip the gym. This has happened more times then you would think but when I asked the manager she got very defensive and blew me off. Being a manager at PF she should have listened to my concerns.... I don't know I just pay monthly for a membership for a gym that I can go to when it's convenient for me, not them! On another note the employees that work here are always on their phones and never look up to greet a guest, I never see them actually working or doing anything but sitting behind the counter chilling. I've only see one person at PF cleaning and working and she has only been here for a couple months. Over all I feel that PF needs to work on some things before I give them any more stars. Cause when I move I'm gonna dump this place cause all I am going for is the convenience not the service that they provide... it lacks so much in order for me to keep this membership. read more

Went in today, Avondale location, with my 18 year old daughter (home from college) and my 13 year old son. Last week we all worked out together no problem. Today at 5:00am with only about 5 other people in the gym, I was told I can only have one guest and would have to leave. I asked if it would be okay to workout this time and was told no. Very disappointed in Planet Fitness. Knowing how difficult it is to find the time and the motivation to use my gym membership I would have thought Planet Fitness would be more accommodating, no judgement zone and all. Oh well, my bad. read more

break in's happen here all the time i walked into the gym for 10 min and the employee came to me and told me my car window got smashed in. not just me but 15 other people got smashed in with their purses and wallets stolen. these break ins are apparently happening all the time here. i would recommend a different location read more

Never have a problem here! The floor and equipment are kept clean. I never have felt intimidated here by the staff & appreciate that the same atmosphere is held up by the patrons as well. The trainer is easily accessible if you want to schedule a group training session or time apart on a machine you you'd like some guidance on. Bathrooms are always very clean and comfortable. Parking is plentiful. Oh and the perks of having the massage beds & tanning available on the affordable black membership are awesome. read more

I will begin by saying that I understand policies and usually don't mind them but I also like when a company has their priorities straight. I go to various Planet Fitness locations around the valley and by far this is the one that I seem to always be displeased with. I understand the "no gym bags on the floor" policy and can even get behind the "gallon" rule. But what I don't like is when 3 different staff members ask me about my bag ON MY WAY TO THE BATHROOM after I walked in. I literally had to tell them that I was already made aware after coming in and also 10 seconds before. Meanwhile, you look at the floor and it's dirty, disorganized and filled with trash. My concern is that at least one of those people could have walked the floor to ensure the floor was clean instead of focusing on my gallon of water. Priorities are off, staff is not friendly and the facility is always hot and messy. read more

I went here with my friend Shelley. I was totally impressed with the setup of this gym. They have a lot to offer compared to other gyms and it is a steal. We did the circuit training, which is a 30 minute workout. I like this because it is planned and you are done in 30 minutes. They have aquamassage beds and massage chairs that are included in your membership. They also have tanning beds and red light therapy beds. I liked it so much that I'm going to join...so I can take advantage of all the perks. read more

Great place to work out. Very clean gym. Love the 15 minute workout zone. Can't beat the 10.00 a month membership. One thing i do recommend, best time to go are in the mornings. It gets really busy after 4pm and hard to get a hold of the free weights. read more

The actual gym was nice and clean but the front desk employee Karishma completely ruined my experience there. I went there to tan and needed a new membership card. She was rude, unwelcoming and treated me like I was the biggest inconvenience ever. She then rolled her eyes, called over another employee and said 'you deal with this'. I was a loyal member for two years at this gym. I worked out at various Planet Fitness locations throughout the valley and enjoyed the perks of the Black Card. During the last year I've had to work out more at my local gym in Avondale and have seen the rapid decline of this gym. From not having a working water fountain, broken equipment, smelly bathroom, and to top all these inconveniences, the Black Cars Perks are not accessible due to a computer malfunction more times that I can count. I've cancelled my membership and put a stop payment because of their crooked way of doing business. Stay away from this gym. Get a membership at either life Time Fitness or EOS. read more

I love this gym so far! I have had a membership for a month now and The staff is friendly and helpful. The gym and locker rooms are clean and tidy. Lots of cardio equipment available and the 30 minute circuit is fantastic I love the concept. The hydro massage beds are a great relaxing way to end a workout. The location is convenient and the hours are too, open 24/7. I would deduct like half a star only because I really wish this gym had a daycare center and more parking, it gets pretty crowded during peak hours but really what gym doesn't? I have no complaints with this gym except that sometimes there are people who bang machines, and the lunk alarm doesn't go off. There were also a group of guys who was showing off and banging stuff, but no staff paid attention. Other than that, I think the staff is doing a good job. I especially like the girl (I think she's a manager?) she's petite, wears glasses, dark hair, and she's always walking around with a big smile, greeting members, and cleaning up. There's an African American staff with dreads who I think is also doing an exceptional job. I always see him walking around doing something. Other than that, the rest of the workers are just average. I do think that this gym is cleaner than other gyms I've been to. I like this gym a lot, I even got my husband to sign up. read more

Joined a couple of months ago, their sign up special looked pretty good..how can you go wrong for $10 a month. The facility is large, clean, with enough fans to keep it from getting smelly. The staff is always friendly, both welcoming you and saying good bye when you leave. The machines are always in good repair, the free weights are plentiful and available. They try to make the place "all" users friendly and I believe they have accomplished this. There is a mix of people the time I am there, which is usually at 2-3 pm. I am sure it gets busy after everyone is finished with their workday. Nothing negative to say about the place...oh yea, they have pizza on the first Monday of each month.....you eat, then have to work it off. read more

We've been going here for about a month now. What I appreciate about this place is that it doesn't pretend to be something it's not. It's a simple gym for people looking to work out and get back in shape or better shape. I really like the vibe as there is nothing pretentious about it and people just wanna exercise and do their thing. The manager is constantly smiling and upbeat as is the rest of the staff. They are always friendly and willing to assist or help out. Hector the trainer has a great attitude and interacts very well with everyone and is super helpful with showing you routines to do and is encouraging. The place is never to packed where you feel claustrophobic and I've gone at all hours of the day. Massage chairs and bed are great. I highly recommend this place! read more

Very clean. I see the staff always wiping down equipment or cleaning the floors. Very friendly staff. They have the AC on at a good temp. They do turn up fans if you need more air flow while doing cardio. It can get a bit busy around evening time. Mornings and late nights it's nearly empty. I really enjoy this location better than the other ones. read more
