    Best pizza!

Favorite Restaurant in Rome by far! Not only was the food amazing, but I think we were the only 2 that spoke English in the restaurant, it is a little outside of the main tourist area so it is filled with locals. The service was so friendly and everyone was very helpful as the language barrier was a little tricky because not many of the servers spoke English. We lucked out and called the day we wanted to go there and got a reservation, which was a must when we went. We took the bus out there and it was easy to find, a quick walk once off. I would highly recommend this restaurant while in Rome. We had fried vegetables as the appetizer, it was AMAZING! Then we shared a vegetable pasta and pizza, both were fantastic, and of course a bottle of wine! I hope to experience this wonderful place again someday!

If you show up right when it opens (totally NOT an Italian Move) you'll be able to get a seat. Show up late, you'll be rushed out for the people smart enough to make a reservation. I never made a reservation and was seated every time. The servers and owners seemed to only speak Italian. Since I speak Italian I was fine, but you might want to be prepared if you don't. They have the best pizzas. The margherita is good, but it's worth branching out into the specialty toppings.

Super soggy pizza. Definitely a pass. Also, place looked pretty empty and they couldn't seat me?

In Rome when my son's birthday was scheduled, so we got a personal recommendation from Katie Parla…read moreto try La Tavernaccia. It was a great recommendation. FOOD - Fresh, well-seasoned, tasty, enough so that everyone was stuffed by the time starters and entrees had come and gone ... and a couple of us still found room for excellent desserts. We had started with limoncello spritzes, which cooled us off nicely. A liter of the house red was perfect accompaniment for the food. SERVICE - We arrived almost a half-hour before our reservation time, and they didn't bat an eyelash. Our waiter was friendly, helpful, engaging, and attentive. Good job. AMBIANCE - Nice brick and stone interior, lending a sense of antiquities and class. NET-NET - I would come back here at the drop of a hat. It wasn't cheap, but more than worth it for what we got.

Both were every bit as incredible as we remembered: the pasta rich and full of flavor with pecorino and guanciale, and the pig perfectly tender and juicy with that irresistible crispy skin. Yumm! We started with the Crostino N'Duja, which was rustic, spicy, and the perfect way to kick off the meal. We also ordered a charcuterie plate. To finish, the lemon torte was bright, refreshing, and surprisingly, not too tart. It was exactly just the way we like it. Kevin's service was outstanding--warm, attentive, and genuinely thoughtful, which made the celebration feel even more special. We were given a couple of shots and a special cookie for my hub's birthday and after learning I am Filipino, he also offered us shots of his own special Ube liqueur. La Tavernaccia has truly become one of our favorite places in Rome, and we already can't wait to come back again to try something new that Kevin highly recommended - the Roasted Veal.
