While visiting Paris for the first time, we started our evening almost every night with delicious wine and amazing service! If you need a "wine home" in Paris, this is your place!

My wife and I were visiting from the US and enjoyed a great date night meal here. The food was excellent and just what we wanted for a night out together. The beef bourguignon was the best we had while in Paris. Prices were what you expect this was probably our favorite restaurant we ate at.

This place deserves a 10 out of 5! Amazing food and service! Our favorite meal in Paris by far, everything is good. I would recommend making a reservation on a typical busy night. Tried San Daniel prosciutto, Stracciatella di bufala, jambon truffle, and some phenomenal beef ravioli. These were all beyond food we had in Paris! Also tried both deserts and great on both! The whole restaurant is a vibe and the service is very authentic, very good people here.

Amazing place! They have smaller plates, tapas style to share. Salmon tartare was my fav! delicious wine, cute interior

Great little neighborhood spot serving organic and all natural French wines and charcuterie. Smoked tuna was exceptional, duck rilletes, lomo de bellota, fromage de chèvre all went down easy with a nice Gigondas...

Awesome dessert crepes and cider! I don't think you can go wrong with any of the desert crepes, and I was disappointed we didn't come back for breakfast another day! A great way to end the night, but looks like we were lucky to find a seat so quickly! This place filled up quick.

We arrived early, by Paris standards, at 7:00 pm and it was just the right time on a Sunday night as we took one of the last two-person tables. 10 other people were comfortably lounging and a table of 8 arrived for a reserved table the same time as us. We were greeted by a tattooed dude who asked, with a Southern California accent, "so you know the drill, right? Everything is cold, charcuterie and cheese, except the mashed potatoes." We said "yes" as that was exactly what we were hoping for. And just as quickly and as friendly as we had been greeted, he turned to address the group of 8 in flawless French. Does that matter? Not much, but if you're more comfortable with English, it helps. Our host was extremely helpful and took the time to recommend selections of cheese and terrines along with a wonderful bottle of champagne. This, while working with only a chef in the kitchen to take care of 20 people. How does he do it? Incredible fresh food, fine wines and a vibe that is committed to taking care of his customers. Arrive early, as they may decide to 'stop' accepting new guests on a Sunday to ensure those whom they are serving get the very best.

This is a splendid wine bar with good food and super friendly and knowledgable staff. It has a romantic couples vibe, with most tables set for two, but I think it is best shared with a group so you can experience more of that delicious menu. Tapas style dishes, cheese and charcuterie plates, and truly wonderful pates, at reasonable prices for the quality. Menus are presented in vinyl album sleeves and the music is very very cool. Very thoughtful designer industrial interior, and great lights. It's a good space to spend time in, casual but special.

On the other hand, it made me realize that my mother was a terrible cook. Bistro des Augustins is a small, cozy venue offering both indoor seating and terrace seating near Pont Neuf. It serves a small number of curated dishes, including a wonderfully traditional Bistro Gratin in a homey ceramic dish served piping hot with a brown crispy cheesy top, herbs, spices and chicken. You can also get it with salmon. My brothers and I only saw my mother use our gas range to light her cigarettes, sanitize needles to remove our splinters, and make s'mores during the summer months when she couldn't muster the energy to take us 'outside camping.' I mean, all she had to do was borrow a cookbook, which I'm sure were readily available from maybe a neighbor or in any local bookstore or the public library. How hard is that? I was the only kid who brought a can of tuna and his own monogrammed can opener to school every day. Every day. And mom convinced me that the tuna holster she got me for my birthday was cool and hip. I was a naive mercury-filled fool, although I did become a very fast runner in junior high school because of the tuna holster. The interior décor of Bistro des Augustins is informal and vintage bistro style - wooden tables, traditional chalkboard menus, and soft lighting - creating a relaxed and comfy ambiance. My eyes have been opened to what's possible. Thank you Bistro des Augustins for expanding my culinary horizons. Five stars.

THE FOOD ------------------…read more= Fermier - Cheese gratin with chicken was good. Didn't blow me away, but was solid with the creaminess of the sliced potatoes and emmental cheese combined together with mixed vegetables. The cheese was very strong though, so anything else was unfortunately pretty much overpowered by it. Arrived with bread, but it DEFINITELY could use other carb options to sop it all up (e.g., rice???)! = Landais - Cheese gratin with duck. Same comment as the above, except the Landais had egg and goat cheese also mixed in with almost the same ingredients as the Fermier. THE SERVICE ----------------------- + The lone waitress, who also worked the role as greeter, cashier and bartender was friendly. + Food arrived within 10 minutes of ordering. THE SURROUNDINGS ------------------------------------ = Small, tight restaurant. = Not many tables inside - 6 in total. + Located a few blocks away from the more touristy restaurants, towards the East, on a much quieter street. RANDOM OBSERVATIONS -------------------------------------- = Nada.

It's their specialty and it sure is special. I've never had escargot with this kind of flavor coming from the snail itself. It's a must have. The bone marrow was good too, nothing too memorable, definitely not like the escargot. The beef bourguignon was so good too. Tender beef and such good flavors. This was the perfect way to end our Paris trip.

We ordered a few dishes to share: - escargot was so flavourful, it blew our minds. This was the best snails I have ever hard. - foie gras - delicious!! - bone marrow - unlike other places, they didn't add a lot of sauces and etc. onto the bone marrow, but the taste was so fresh and delicious that you didn't even need anything else. Amazing. - beef stew - this was very tasty but we couldn't finish it so we take it to go. - sausage - probably my least favourite but still very favourful. Our server Olya was amazing, always checking up on us and making sure we were happy! She gave us a lot of recommendations which turned out to be amazing. She speaks French, English and Russian, which is a great asset which made communication and ordering very easy. Overall, this restaurant is a must visit for anyone who is looking for delicious homey meal.

THE FOOD ----------------…read more+ Six Snails from Burgundy - Very good! Unlike in the States, these escargot (as most in Paris) were served in their ACTUAL snail shells and they were addictively deeeelicious - like I can have 95 of them addictive! = Duck Breast - Duck was tender, but I thought it was just OK. The orange honey sauce made for a good dipper sauce, but without it, the duck was relatively ordinary. The aligot was quite cheesy and tasty though. = Chicken Supreme - Solid chicken and well cooked. String Beans were excellent! Like the Duck Breast, presentation was simple and elegant. However, for me personally, the chicken was OK. Nothing wow'd me on this dish. + Toasted Ham and Cheese Sandwich and Fried Egg, Salad - Good for what it was - a ham and cheese sammie with a fried egg. Definitely fancier than your stateside version - it wins that hands down. Bread was toasted and buttered very well, which to me, was the key to this sammie. THE SERVICE ------------------ + Alllll of the food came out very fast after we ordered. + All of the employees were super friendly to us, despite us not speaking a lick of French. THE SURROUNDINGS ------------------------------- = Interior and exterior are tigggght. The interior consists of a 2nd level, which has a few tables. = Exterior has outdoor seating for what seems to be customary at most restaurants - people watching while day drinking. RANDOM OBSERVATIONS ------------------------------------- + We had a resy for 6:15 PM on a Saturday evening and were seated immediately, which is always a good thing. + Outdoor seating area was packkked, but there was always an open table or two inside.
