    Butcher's steak, Aeperol Spritz

10/10. We got the Butcher's Steak and the special they had with roasted chicken. The drinks were fantastic the ambience outside and inside the restaurant is relaxing. Wait staff was pleasant and attentive.

B said in Paris, I have to try their version of grill cheese. We didn't purposely come to this restaurant for grill cheese. We were heading to the Sacre Coer and we passed by this restaurant. Well, I saw the long stairs and I really wanted to rest and this restaurant was just beside the long stairs up to Sacre Coeur. It was a really nice decor restaurant. The servers spoke English. B and I both got the ham grill cheese. Wow when I saw it was i was like amazed. Very different from the American version. I had to eat it with a knife and fork. The Ham Grill Cheese came with fries and salad as well. The Ham Grill Cheese was super delicious. Best I have ever had so far. Yes it is even better my home made version. B agrees with this as well.

Stopped in for some breakfast, it was super close to our AirBnb. I wanted something HOT and NOT a pastry (is it possible to be carb'd out? I was. How'd I do that?) and La Halte du Sacre Coeur had an omelette du fromage that I wanted to eat. It's served with fries and a side salad (I wish they did this in the states) and our waiter brought over a bread basket that we DEVOURED. Cheese is mixed in the eggs and they were all being enthusiastically eaten by ME. Coffee was good, nothing crazy, fries were great, service was pretty good. I wanted to come back for dinner. They are pretty strict with their breakfast timing (we popped in at like 10:45, lunch isn't served until 11. This left my lunch wanting friend slightly bummed out.)

Excellent place for breakfast. Good food. Very friendly barista, generous portions good price. Happy with our choice! :-)

My mom and I ate here on our last night in Paris. We simply wandered around the neighborhood where our Airbnb was located and ended up here. (There were many locals parked on outside on a Saturday so we had a good feeling about it.) We each ordered an appetizer and main course. My main course was an amazing carbonara pasta. It was on a daily special list, and was divine. Prices were good. We also ordered a delicious bottle of rosè to go with our food that paired well with our choices and a warm night in the city. I would definitely head back to this restaurant. It was a wonderful farewell meal!

Making a reservation isn't hard but you do need to email them and there's no online booking system. You also have to confirm again 1-2 days before. I understand they are small with a limited number of tables so that's fair and it seemed like everyone showed up even though they don't require a deposit. On a Friday night, it didn't appear there was much chance or walking in although there were like 2 open seats at what would have been a shared table. The menu is small and includes some typical French starters, steaks, 3 non steak entrees, cheeses, and dessert. All steaks come with potatoes, 3 sauces, salad. Service was a highlight. The waiter was personable and funny, had solid recommendations, and made sure leftovers were taken home. Also had a solid wine recommendation after asking some questions. They probably get a lot of people who don't speak French and they had no problem speaking English. The food- ordered a ribeye medium rare. The steak was so so charred on the outside and it almost ruined the whole thing. I really wish they would have charred it way less especially when it was ordered medium rare. There is seared and then there is burnt; this was sadly the latter. The steak itself was fine, honestly nowhere near the best meat I have had but the price is quite reasonable for how much you get. I would say the steak was maybe 6/10 for me, largely due to the cooking. The fries were phenomenal. Definitely a highlight and really tasty and with a great texture. Salad was good, pretty typical. I wanted to like the sauces more but found them just okay. The best by far for me was the blue cheese sauce but even this one I thought the flavors could have popped a little more. Atmosphere was fun, there were a few bigger groups (6-8 which is the biggest they accommodate) but it never got unreasonably loud. Overall I wanted to love it but was a bit disappointed even though the service and fries were both great.

Throughout our trip from Provence, Basque Country and Paris, I joked that they must hate me for ordering my beef med b/c it was so much tougher compared to our beef. Anyway, it's just different. Our server spoke English fluently and was such a hoot...full of personality & joy. Per his recommendation, we ordered it med-rare b/c it continues cooking table side on the sizzling platter. We ate too much. It's a lot of food to split the cote de boeuf btn two. Comes with very good chubby fries and 3 sauces. TBH, I didn't love the sauces. Luckily we walked 6miles that day and skipped lunch. Started with a garden salad, but sadly we had no room for dessert. Reservations via email. We managed to get a 9pm reso, last minute, I bet due to a cancellation. They have 2seatings...6pm & 9pm.

We were so looking forward to the frog legs, onion soup and other delicacies pictured. We got there and the sign was just as it was with the same name -- Au Pied du Sacre Coeur. We should've noticed something was wrong when no one was inside. When the waiter (lone person working along with cook) gave us the menu, my wife and I stared at each other completely confused. The menu looked nothing like the ones on this website and featured Italian food items, like spaghetti, arroz con pollo or mozarella. I asked him about frog legs or the onion soup. He looked confused and just said no. Out of respect for him, we just ordered the charcuterie, which featured stale bread and a few slices of meat taken from my local grocery store in the U.S. Also -- they claimed to not accept any international credit cards. WHAT HAPPENED? Are all these reviews fake? Most likely, they underwent new ownership right when we visited. But new visitors -- please beware. Do not trust any of the reviews before mine. If I was mistaken, please post photos and just tell me that I was part of some elaborate joke to ruin a lunch for me and my wife.

That's not acceptable. The food, however, was. Hence my difficulty in giving one rating. Our 3 dishes tried were indeed solid. Generous servings of seafood in the bouillabaisse, and I have no qualms whatsoever with my cuise de grenouille and foie gras salads. Bread kept us alive. The free Cote du Rhône glass was appreciated for check-in! Our server had his head permanently at a 30 degree angle, staring at his mobile. Tis a shame. But he was friendly ( oh, and easy on the eyes). I liked the quiet location out of the chaotic fray, like up the street, with all its smoking and volume. PS This is lover's type of location. Even the dark end of the small street feels illicit!
