I visited the store and was very pleased with the selection of frozen foods including different greens, some fresh produce and all kinds of smoked and frozen fish. The vast inventory of cooking oils was especially good and the variety of packaged products was overwhelming. I am extremely happy that I do not have to travel all the way to Nashville to get what I want anymore. I understand there may also be cooked food in the future. A Facebook page would be nice, too. The young man who helped me make my purchases was very nice and professional. I will enjoy visiting this store on a regular basis!

I noticed the man checking me out was glancing at the products quickly as he scanned them, and he took a frozen item and set it aside, saying it was out of date and he'd rather not sell it. I had seen it when I picked it up that it was just a week out, and I planned to cook it right away. But I didn't want to interrupt service at this level. I'd rather ensure continuing to get this level of treatment. Also, they own GIF - Great Indian Food restaurant in the same shopping area. I'll be trying that soon, too.

I came by for one item that the other international stores didn't have, and ended up finding it and buying two bags of random stuff and banchan. So I followed all the traffic coming to Noi's today and I found some very tasty prepared foods. One that knocks my socks off is a container of lettuce rolls. Hidden in the rolls of lettuce is a soft and savory paste of toasted and creamed sticky rice studded with roasted peanuts, freshly sliced lemongrass, bits of ginger and if you're really lucky, galangal. A separate foil package contains crispy pork rinds and dried red chilies, toasted to a crunchy crispness. Break off a little of each and tuck it into the parcel and chow. OMG. They call this "mieng Muang Luang." Capitol City packets. It hails from Luang Prabang Laos. This is some special stuff that you usually only get at people's homes or in Laos. Today, I also saw pickled mustard and "mok kai," little packets of chicken steamed in herbs---savory goodness. Heat this up and sit down to it with a fistful of sticky rice. The shelves were looking fuller and the veggies looking abundant and fresh. Custard apples and mangoes today. All looking good. Today, I also saw that you can order boba tea in the back! It's like a maze of discovery. I'll come back with my eyes peeled next time.
