[[HIGHLIGHT]]The venue is lovely. Decor is super nice.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Plenty of space and free parking.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The staff is very nice and attentive. I didn't enjoy my meal and neither did my daughter. It could be that I don't know much about the food and I ordered the wrong thing but I felt it was unseasoned and over cooked. I had a pork belly things. My daughter had an item that was unique so it could have just been an our tastebud issue. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It was super clean too.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] My friends really enjoyed their meals though.

The flavor at this place was INSANE!! In a good way. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant is in the back of the market. It's cute, with light music playing.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The staff was nice and helpful with ordering and answering questions. They have a buffet where you can try mostly all the dishes Friday, Saturday, Sunday.

We absolutely love Maemax! Finally able to visit the new location as Madison is a bit of a hike for us, but it was absolutely worth it. We made a reservation for a large party (18? 19? I lost count) for a boodle fight. And let me preface this by saying they were absolutely more than accommodating to us when we changed the reservation multiple times. Never got frustrated and worked with me each time I called back. Boodle fight was absolutely delicious and it is so much fun! If you're not familiar, it is a traditional Filipino feast where the food is laid out on banana leaves and you eat with your hands (Kamayan style). Everything was flavorful and we loved all of it. I highly recommend gathering a group of friends and going to do this! They also have a menu that you can order off of - you do not have to do this communal style meal.

Found this place on tik tok and saw that do Empanadas on Thursday. And fortunately for me it was a Thursday and I got to try their empanadas. Omg they were made to order and soooo good! The flavors together was chefs kiss. I got my food Togo and it came with vinegar and he also gave me chili oil for some spice. Everybody was really nice and explained the menu well. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The space is very well decorated and has plenty of room.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]They also do karaoke.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I will be back to try other menu options.

Went here for lunch after my daughter kept telling me all about it - we had to go on a Thursday, because that was the only day they made their empanadas, and...well....she was right...the food is amazing, the staff are wonderful and friendly - and yes, Thursday's empanadas definitely hit the mark! Wow! Plan to return on a Saturday for the buffet!! We were so enamored with the food, we forgot to go to the attached market! Add that to the list for next time! (Sorry, we Hoovered down the empanadas so no pics of them this round!)

We were in town for the day and came across Maemax for a late lunch. At first when we walked in we thought we were in the wrong spot because we walked in from the market side. There is a sign that shows you down the hall to the restaurant tho. As we came in we were greeted and seated right away. Being it was our first time, our server let us know there was a buffet option however it was nearing the end of the time for it. We went to check it out to see if it was anything we wanted. Since it was nearing end time and no refills were being made, we stuck to ordering from the menu. It's been so long since I last had Filipino food that I just wanted to order everything. For apps we ordered pork lumpia cause you always have to have lumpia in a Filipino restauran. I ordered the kare kare with pancit and sinigang. My husband ordered the bbq sticks with pancit and garlic fried rice. I don't know if it's because I've hadn't had it in a while but the kare kare was so good. Had the perfect ratio of peanut butter to it, not too thick or thin, and when combined with the bagoong gave the perfect saltiness. The pancit and sinigang were perfect sides although I do like my sinigang very sour. My husband really enjoyed his as he had no leftovers to take home. After eating we browsed the market and to my surprise I found a parrot fish! First I've seen here since moving to Tennessee! Luckily I came prepared and had a cooler to put it in for our drive home. We will definitely be coming here again when we are in the area. Next time we will try to come earlier to eat during buffet hours and if we so happen stay the weekend we definitely have to do karaoke night!

Lechon Kawali (deep fried pork belly chunks) and garlic fried rice. I already ate the lumpia before the picture. YUM!

Restaurant: [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's bright, clean and the service is great.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I was so excited to see Lechon Kawali on the menu! It's deep fried pork belly chunks with rice, dipping sauce and a side. I upgraded to garlic fried rice and chose lumpia for the side. Lumpia is skinny, crunchy meat & vegetable Filipino eggrolls. I couldn't wait and ate them on the drive home. The food quality is great, it's authentic and very fairly priced. I called in my order, so it was ready in less than 15min. Market: Not many items, I honestly feel like it exists to supply their restaurant and some random yummy snack items. I got some canned lychee, squid jerky and a canned drink. Maemax is 100% worth the try!

Overall: As a new Filipino-American to Nashville, I knew I had to make the drive out here. It's a great place to go for your Filipino food/snacks in TN, and I'm happy there's at least one spot out here. I went to both the restaurant (ordered to-go) & the market. * Market-wise, fairly small but I was happy to see some familiar items on the shelves that you can't otherwise pick up in TN. * Food-wise, the pork BBQ skewers were definitely the highlight of what I ordered! Authentic in taste and flavor. And you can't go wrong with the side of garlic rice and egg. I will say, the sisig and lumpia is not what I'm used to. I would like to try the other dishes though and see how it holds up. Service: Quick and friendly, both at the market and restaurant. Owner(?) and cashier very kind and helpful. Ambience: In the restaurant, I could tell it was going for something reminiscent of the Philippines :) The flag, the parole in the front, the setting itself - definitely gives you the feeling.

We came across this Filipino café before our flight and decided to stop by since we were craving Filipino food. At first, we thought it was just a small place, but it turned out to be much bigger than expected. There's even a shop in the back, which was a nice surprise! [[HIGHLIGHT]]We stopped by around noon and were surprised by the cozy, Filipino decor that made the space feel warm and inviting.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We ordered the pork sisig, which comes with two sides of your choice. We both chose jasmine rice. The dish arrived sizzling hot with an egg on top, and it was flavorful and authentic. The portion was just right for sharing as a light lunch. Prices are a little on the higher side, but the quality made it worth it. Service was friendly and attentive, which added to the positive experience. Overall, a great spot to enjoy authentic Filipino flavors before catching a flight.

Came here to celebrate my friend's 60th birthday, and they were nice enough to block off a small area for her since there was going to be karaoke. They had a buffet for $26 per person, but heads up--this place doesn't serve alcohol, which was a bummer because I could've used some liquid courage for singing... lol. The owner is super nice and made sure we were taken care of. Turns out, they're from the same village as the birthday girl, so we definitely got some extra love! The restaurant is inside a market, which is super convenient if you want to shop while you're there. I skipped the buffet and went for the pork skewers, and wow--so good! I asked for a side of sriracha, and the flavors were on point. The pork had a light, sweet marinade, kinda like teriyaki, and I swear they must've used a mix of pork belly and tenderloin because it was so juicy. Next time, if I'm really hungry, I'll give the buffet a shot since everyone else seemed to enjoy it!

This is the place in the Fort Campbell & Clarksville area for Korean Fire Noodles!…read more Seoul International Asian Market is easy to find, has lots of parking space, and a wide variety of different Asian foods and seasonings. It is the largest Asian market in this area. This week I got introduced to Korean Fire Noodles after a friend showed me a video of a fast food ramen restaurant in Orlando, Florida. The most demanded item there was the Korean Fire Noodles. Korean fire noodles are a particular type of spicy noodles from South Korea. While most people cannot handle the spiciness of these noodles, they still want to try it! These noodles were first created by Samyang Foods, Inc. The company also makes a variety of other ramen flavors. However, over time, the Korean fire noodles have become their specialty. For most netizens, Samyang is become synonymous with the fiery hot Korean fire noodles! Seoul International Asian Market always has something I am looking for like homemade kimchi, seasoned squid, wood chopsticks, and ramen noodles. I found a huge variety of Samyang Noodles here: Samyang Carbo Spicy Chicken Fried Noodles are not as spicy as the original spicy ramen from Samyang - herbal, cheesy, & spicy. Samyang Fire Hot Curry Flavored Chicken Ramen Noodles is deliciously hot and spicy. The heat builds up gradually and you can taste the curry flavor of the noodles. The Buldak Bokkeummyun Light is basically the basic fire noodle but with 40% less spice. It's definitely much milder than the other variants, but the decreased spice somehow affected the overall savoriness of the noodles as well. I got some of these Korean Fire Noodles/ramen, Japanese Clear Broth, a jar of kimchi, fish flakes for a recipe, and seasoned squid. Total cost of these groceries: $30. Pricey but not bad. On the way out, I saw some cold coffee in cans. I decided to buy some another day.

As-salamu alaykum…read more I shop here for halal meat and I appreciate that service. However, during my visit I saw hookah/shisha on display and evil-eye/amulet (nazar/hamsa) decor used on products. I am not fully sure if this is a Muslim-owned store, but I am confident the meat is halal. As a Muslim customer, I want to offer nasiha with evidence from the Quran: We are commanded to consume what is halal and tayyib (pure): "Eat of what is lawful and good..." (Quran 2:168). We are told not to cooperate in sin: "...Cooperate in righteousness and piety, and do not cooperate in sin and aggression." (Quran 5:2). Hookah/shisha promotes harm and waste: "Do not throw yourselves into destruction" (Quran 2:195), "Do not kill yourselves" (Quran 4:29), and "Eat and drink but do not be excessive" (Quran 7:31). Amulets and evil-eye charms shift reliance away from Allah. The Quran teaches us to seek protection only from Him: "Do not call upon, besides Allah, that which can neither benefit you nor harm you" (Quran 10:106; see also Quran 6:71). Protection is through dhikr and seeking refuge: Surat al-Falaq and Surat al-Nas (Quran 113-114) and Ayat al-Kursi (Quran 2:255). My request (with respect): Please remove hookah/shisha and stop featuring evil-eye or amulet imagery. Focusing on halal and tayyib will earn the community's full trust. Many families like mine want to keep buying our meat here, and we also want the store environment to reflect Quranic values. To readers: I am sharing this as sincere advice, not to shame anyone. The Quran tells us to invite with wisdom and good counsel (Quran 16:125) and to enjoin what is right (Quran 3:104; 3:110). May Allah guide us all to what is most pleasing to Him. Jazakum Allahu khayran.
