I work their do months and I fly got 3-5 pages done. Every time I ask my manger, he said "I am to tired to do it" 3. I never watch all of the training videos. 4. You have to work over 6 hours to get a 30 minute break. 5. Someone times when I ask for a break (working over 6 hours) I was told a break was a privilege and not mandatory. 6. My manger would go sleep in the closet instead of working. 7. Manger would make fun of me. 8. There are shelves of food in the back that have only a little problem (1 soda is open in a pack, box is partially open, ect) that gets thrown away. I seen a few intro videos for working there and they made a point that they donate food. Not once have I seen them do that.

They were pretty quick at the deli, and the only reason the checkout took a bit was because the customer ahead of me was paying with a check.. The girl at checkout was very nice and we even had a quick conversation with her. For the first time in a long time Walmart literally had every single thing I needed in stock, which is a huge plus for me. I also noticed that during the peak Saturday hours they stationed 2 associates at the end of an aisle pretty well spread apart in the main track. These guys were just standing there greeting customers and making sure they didn't need any help! They didn't seem to have any other task to do other than customer service. I see different Walmart stores every week and I have never seen one do this, and I think it shows that the management here really values service, and I could see that the overall store morale was great. It was a Saturday and there were ALOT of people milling about in droves with no apparent sense of urgency. Which I generally love, because it makes Walmart on Saturday an excellent place for people watching! I would choose to stop at the Salina Walmart over anything else the next time I'm passing through!

There's another "Oriental" market right around the corner, although I didn't have a chance to visit it. This is a small shop with three aisles of food. It has the darkly sweet and vaguely unpleasant smell often associated with Asian supermarkets. In back, there are some shelves of cookware and bowls. Half of the floor space of the shop is divided off and used for two pool tables. There were some people playing pool here when I walked in, which seemed odd for the early afternoon. Although "oriental," this store has almost exclusively Southeast Asian fare. There is no Korean packaged food (unless you count Nong Shim Bowl Noodles, which are available in ordinary supermarkets--even in Salina), and no Japanese food (unless you count the Thai-labeled Glico snacks, including small boxes of Pocky for 79 cents). Good place to get coconut milk, I guess. I was able to get some Chinese-labeled rice cracker snacks from Thailand, which were sweet and MSG-laden for just $1.29. That's something.
