Renting a Moke was such a fun experience! We are local but found this to be a great way to check…read moreout local businesses and enjoy the beautiful weather we had this past weekend. I was pleasantly surprised at how easy it was to pick up our Moke as well. We booked the Encinitas/Leucadia option so all we had to do was go to the valet at Alila Marea, who gave us the keys. Super simple and we had a blast -- they were also very kind about letting us bring our dog as long as he was well secured (which was sensible to us). Highly recommend!!

My mom decided she didn't want to do it the day before, so I called and tried to cancel. They said a 7-day cancellation requirement. The woman on the phone said she could submit a cancellation request but it would take a week together get back to me. We ended up using it since there was no guarantee of refund. The car is really slow, traffic was backing up behind us on a 35mph zone. We had to pull over twice to let the line of cars pass. Pretty terrible customer service, they seem like a money-first culture. Also, on-boarding was very time intensive and annoying. Drivers license front, back, insurance information all needed to be upload, and the site had issues. After posting the review above on Google, Moke replied and called me petty. The website had issues uploading my drivers license, I had to try multiple times. Seems like it's a "nuisance" for the owners to pay a proper website developer. They charged $311 for a two-hour rental, with mileage so limited we could barely make it to downtown Encinitas, we had to park and walk around to avoid going over the limit. The advertised speed is higher than the actual speed. As you can see from their response, they don't like taking accountability and will find an excuse to nickel and dime you. They want to charge you cancellation insurance and avoid paying for liability insurance, where most businesses know that's a cost. They're likely untruthful about blocking the booking for other customers - we called before our car was delivered, then it was sitting in front of the hotel for 2-3 hours before our designated time slot. Given their lackluster and accountability-avoiding response, I'll share with Alila to see if this "luxury experience" can be removed from their website to not tarnish the Alila brand. I don't know how a luxury hospitality brand like Alila allows them close to their resort property. As for the software, I tried on 2 separate devices on 2 separate WiFi's and LTE. Again, instead of being curious, they immediately blamed the customer. I think their response stands for themself. If you want spoiled, entitled customer service, please consider Moke & Sun.

I purchased a club car from Cart Mart last July from a salesman named Ruben Barron. I contacted…read moreRuben because the charging plug on the Club Car broke off. Ruben personally drove to my house to replace the defective charging plug rather than having me set up a time with one of their repair technicians. Ruben definitely goes out of his way to help me with any problems I may have with the Club Car. If you are in the market for a new or used golf cart I highly recommend Ruben Barron from Cart Mart as he is more of a friend than a salesperson.

Buyer beware! Our entire experience was a bait and switch!…read more May 1st We made an appointment to test driver Club Car carts, met James Fenesy, drove the two they had, as we wanted to buy an American cart. It's quite expensive so we made certain of the color combination etc and THOUGHT we special ordered a cart on June 1st 2026 with the deposit. One week later on June 8th I called to inquire about eta, balance etc and instead was told that we are now receiving a cart that another customer cancelled but not to worry about it and we would get just what we ordered. I was very confused and asked for photos and the statement of origin or a bill of lading? When was this cart ordered, how long was it sitting around, why wasn't this disclosed to us? The sales person and manager defer to their "contract language" and how we are forced to take this FRANKENSTEIN cart that is not from the factory at the same time and rather a new body with a different head and hands from different production lots etc. I'm very upset and this is appearing to seem like a scam. James told me that if he had not disclosed that it was another customers order I would never know!!! Call me crazy, but I don't want to order something anywhere and get someone else's order whether it's a burger and fries, a wedding ring or a golf cart! Again I spoke with James and Tyler and they reassured that if this is so bothersome that they can order me and expedite MY cart but that never happened. James told me, "it's just four bolts to change the seats and the roof cover swap and the cart arrives on struts and they install the wheels" to dismiss my shock at all the swaps. Cart Mart was offloading this cancellation on to me and had zero interest in doing anything else. Again, no documentation came, no photos, no cart was ordered for us. Zero communication. We had planned to inspect the cart on June 18th and accept it that afternoon for delivery.... My husband reached out on June 15th to confirm the details and the balance owed. No response until the next day except here's where it gets more concerning. The cart isn't ready. They can't send images. No one else has ever asked for a balance before but accounting will have to do that. I'm furious. I call the general sales manager Tyler again. Now Tyler says he offered to order me a new cart and he's apologizing that James never sent me the information requested - back peddling!!! Then at 856 pm Tyler sends me a redacted bill of lading that the cart was ordered in February and delivered and accepted at Cart Mart April 28th 2026. We placed our deposit on June 1st - that is NOT my cart. Furthermore we were at their storefront on May 1st and I can only assume that the intended recipient had not cancelled their order yet to show us the cart because they only had 3 Club Cars on display out of 15 total carts. This business is full of excuses, lacks professionalism and follow through, has a weird quote/contract that in their view allows for any and all substitutions and they strong arm you with scare tactics. It's 2026, I'm a woman, I already have enough things to worry about and ordering a golf cart will never be one of them. This should be a fun experience for customers spending full price not a nightmare. I asked to cancel my "quote" since they lied to me and never in fact ordered anything for us and tried to recycle a cancelled order. Tyler replied, "Read your contract!" If you want a transparent transaction that you feel good about - go elsewhere. If customer service doesn't matter to you and you have money to waste or you just want to buy a pre assembled cart with no provenance -- this is your place!! Exhausted and deeply disappointed. Buyer beware!!! PS - disputed my deposit with American Express and the customer service representative has worked for AMEX and in banking for over two decades and was shocked at my experience.
