Delicious pastries completely authentic to Bretagne (and France). Friendly service in a warm, airy setting. Fantastic.

Unfortunately, this place does not live up to the hype. It's associated with the West Branch Farm brand which has taken over Machias which seems to have a strong marketing strategy. The gravel lot and the step up to get in make it not handicapped accessible. However there is a drive through that you enter off of Route 1 but it is easily missed. Looks like the speaker does not work so you order at the window which might cause a back up. The service is very friendly. I went here twice. Once in and once at the drive through. The cappuccino has nice flavor but the foam was nonexistent for both trips. I ordered a cinnamon pastry but they were out of it so they offered me a cinnamon croissant. Ok. I'm game. Well, there is in no world that what I ordered was a croissant. It was a bread roll split in half and coated with a 1/4 inch of cinnamon flavored butter. It was not edible. If you want to pay $5 for a strong coffee with milk, stop here , because it's not a cappuccino

First let me say it is a really cute coffee shop converted from a house. Coffee cozy all around. We met the owner and her daughter, Dianne and Dotty. We chatted with Dianne for around 20-30 minutes and she is a wonderful person. Very kind and social. She said we, as is everyone else, are welcome to hang out for as long as you want. High speed internet, books, puzzles and more. I had a Salted Caramel Latte with an extra shot of espresso. It was delicious! My partner had a mocha and she said it was pretty good as well! We were sad to leave as we enjoyed our short, random experience and will return if we make it this way in the future. Go say hi to them, order your favorite drink and relax! Oh... and the drinks are SUPER affordable!

The menu is great and they have an awesome selection of syrups for the coffees. I love the unique drinks, the service is fast, and the spot is set up well. FANTASTIC! FANTASTIC! FAAAANTASTIC! little bakery in Bar Harbor!…read more While I was on holiday in Maine I stopped in wherever to get my usual...I plain bagel, with butter..and a bottle of orange juice. Some places were good, some...not so much. I mean, how can a plain bagel with butter...be bad? Well, very easily lol. Went to a place in New Hampshire and it was the worst bagel I had ever had. So when I was in Bar Harbor, I had gone to a few places every morning and none of them were as great as this place. It's super close to downtown and all the tourist shops. So I just figured....expensive. Not at all. The bagel was fantastic! they toasted it just right and didn't drown it in butter like so many other places had on that trip. AND! the bagel was just so damn tasty. I like me some bagels lol The staff was so friendly. Just a happy place. The restaurant/bakery itself is so homey. It's very small...so if you wanna get there in the morning like so many do...go as early as you can if you wanna sit down. It's very comfortable in there. It's like a cute little cottage and you just kind of expect to see your adorable little grandma come out with the most amazing breakfast ever with her acting all sweet and grandma-like lol. I only wish I had discovered this place the first day we had gotten there. I would have been a regular for sure. What a pleasant little spot. Seriously, I just loved it and highly recommend anyone and everyone go here for their breakfast. They also have lots of like cookies and shit. I was so proud of myself...I held back and didn't get any even though I could have easily bought one of everything lol. So if you are in the Bar Harbor area and want a nice little spot to go for breakfast...and you see this review...go here! You will love it! If you hate it...you know where to find me....on Yelp lol. I guarantee you will love it tho. If you don't...Ill buy you a cookie to make you happy because obviously you're miserable if you find something wrong with this adorable little bakery :) Thanks so much for reading, Yelpers! Cheers!

Thankfully, we found Flexit because the Matcha was really delicious! My wife and I both ordered an Iced Lavender Matcha and the drinks came out quickly and efficiently. It seemed like a cute place to hang out and do some working/study sessions. Plus the location is perfect. Plenty of parking nearby and lots of other shops to explore post-caffeine. We did not order food during this visit so I cannot comment on the food. However, I will say that it seemed like they had a great selection of food as well as a grab-n-go section with lots of items from the cafe and other local vendors. If we're ever back in Ellsworth, we will 100% be back.

It's been a while. I figured there would be new, and hopefully friendlier, staff. I was half right. There was new staff, but unfortunately, they were as unwelcoming as the last batch. This place has no prices on any of the premade sandwiches or pastries in their cases (why??), so we asked "Hey there, how much are your pies and cookies?". The employee was in the lobby sweeping and said "I'm not sure. Somewhere between $3- $5. Maybe more". She doesn't look up. Doesn't offer more clarity. She just shrugged this non-answer to us and carried on. It was awkward. So my husband, trying to make light of it, says "Sounds like it's up for debate so how about I give you $2.50" and this girl gives us a dour look and snaps "Well, I'm not behind the cash register so I can't look at the prices, can I?". So, we have now learned our lesson with this place twice. Not sure what it is about the culture there that results in such bad service years apart and by different people. We won't be returning.
