Eating at La Lupe restaurant is a MUST when visiting the beautiful city of San Cristobal! Located near el Centro, this place offers lots of items off the menu and has a extensive dessert & drink menu. We ordered a parrilla for 4 people and it was able to fill us up. The food served here is fresh and very delicious. The service is really great and we didn't wait long to get our food. The cafe de olla from here was really good and I made sure to come here each morning just for that during my stay in S.C. Another huge highlight was the salsa bar where you can help yourself to several different flavorful salsas. Me and my group of friends agreed that this was our favorite dining experience in Chiapas. Also side note the restaurant is pretty big so they can accommodate large groups. Bathrooms are also clean. read more

So we had a lot of fun in this place. The tacos Al pastor where quite delicious. They had a variety of spiceS where to choose from. Even though The Alfredo pasta was delicious, it felt like it was loaded with butter, nothing bad with that. The restaurants decoration was on point, felt like I was in Mexico, oh wait I was lol. My friends and I had a wonderful time at La Lupe. The decor is vibrant and colorful and servers are friendly. This is a horrible tourist trap and waste of money. I had the fajitas and they were the worst ever. I was missing Chili's fajitas... Which is really saying something. Fajitas were a bowl of vegetables with small shaving of meat. Not even diced meat, but dry meat shavings. Everyone at my table ate half their plate and put the rest in the trash. Don't fall for the great interior. It really made my angry to fall into this rediculous torist trap. Came to this place twice. First time we received good service and food was good. The environment was lively and they had a good salsa bar. The first experience was good enough to bring me back a second time. First time we ordered the parrillada mexicana and so the second time around we wanted to try something different. The second time we got the tacos al pastor and burrito de arrachera. The tacos were not great especially coming from San Diego where we have amazing tacos. The tortillas was blah and the meat was dry. The burrito was more vegetarian than a meat burrito. The service the second time around was less than great. The owners office appears to be in the main dining room and it's less than desirable to watch the business do business out in the open with desk top and all next to the bar. This place was recommended to us by our hostel, and it did not disappoint. Our waiter Alonso was really friendly, professional, and so fast. He gave us really good recommendations on food, as well as things to do in and around San Cristobal. Their portions were very generous. I was starving when we got there and I still could not finish my meal! They make their tortillas in house. They had mariachis as well as other musicians during the course of our meals. (We ate there three times in 5 days so that should say something). And we asked to be seated in Alonso's area each time. read more
