What started off as what we thought would be a lovely dining experience quickly turned sour. We enjoyed the beautiful music and views of the water but the experience was definitely not worth it!
When we ordered we were notified that our dish would take 40mins. to prepare. No big deal! We were excited that the fish would be freshly prepared. Therefore we ordered the octopus as an appetizer in the meantime to curb our appetite. After about an hour, our waiter comes to our table to say that he has bad news and that he forgot to put our order in. We were given a two second window to respond to his hasty question: "Would you like to wait again for your order, yes or no?" At this point we were hangry (extremely hungry) and annoyed, so I asked if anything would be done about the inconvenience. He responded by reluctantly offering us an appetizer on the house. We chose the octopus because we enjoyed it earlier. Much to our surprise it arrived completely different than the first time, old, tough and cold! They brought it out again for a second time and we were completely disappointed once again. Let's just say maybe the octopus quality decreases as the closer it gets to closing. I understand mistakes happen, but sincere acknowledgment of the mistake and taking measures to genuinely apologize for the inconvenience would have been appreciated.
By the time we received our meal, to be honest, we'd lost our appetites completely and the meal was not worth the 2 hour wait or price. We were so bummed that we selected La Marquesina as our first dinner in Fuerteventura! If you choose to go, I hope your experience is different! read more
