If I could give them 100 stars I would. Gluten free and even vegan possibilities here. We just ate a gluten free, vegan pizza. It was a amazing! The Argentine empanadas are absolutely fantastic. I lived in Argentina and these empanadas are truly just like the ones in Argentina. The staff is FABULOUS. All speak perfect English. Agua frescas are made fresh without a lot of sugar. Truly I cannot recommend those place enough to everyone. Gluten free and non gluten free options. I wish this restaurant was in San Francisco . Very cool place in a lovely setting with great food. Also our dog got sprayed by a skunk while traveling and the owner made up a concoction for us to get the smell out as we were telling them about the story. Absolutely lovely experience. 100 stars!

Great service with a healthy selection of options. Yes you want to experience authentic Oaxaca (Mexican) food but they do have influences on their options. Also, it served as a healthier option for us to reset our stomachs. They have vegan and vegetarian options along with some organic products. Not to mention a local kombucha selection which is perfect for a gut reset. Location is solid, ambiance A and service A+

Refreshing salad and great house mezcal. A bit more expensive but worth it. The gluten free crust is tasty and the waiter was very knowledgeable about allergens and cross contamination!

We were starving one late night and the restaurant was already closed but he made us a tasty Hawaiian pizza to go and i got two rare beers and it was awesome. The pizza was so good, so if you are looking for a quick snack this is where you should go. The restaurant is friendly, good service and clean with outdoor seating.

This place is amazing!! I eat pizza a lot and this place really stands out with taste! They have such a great selection of pizzas, they also have the option to make it vegan! Super cool! Ricardo was our server and he was such a great help! Very friendly and attentive!! I would definitely recommend this place! The location is gorgeous as well! They also have a menu in English by the way and a huge selection of Mezcal!

Honestly was not expecting much for pizza as my experiences in Mexico have been more like bread, ketchup, and greasy cheese. However I am renting an Airbnb above and was reading in the roof being tainted by the smells. I couldn't resist and I am glad I didn't. First the ambience of an old soanish home repurposed is excellent. The arch wood work is incredible and it is nice and open so the heat has a place to escape. The pizza was excellent. A nice light thin crust. Not so much cheese it triggered a lactose stomach issue. The sauce was clearly freshly made. The staff very pleasant and it was pretty quick for all the freshness. With all the 'other' pizza experiences in Mexico being challenging, it was a great treat to have such quality. Oh did I mention the beer and mescal selection is good? No? Because it's great.

    Buen provecho!

This is not as well-known as other popular cafe spots in the area so it's not as busy and there is seating inside. We ordered the shakshuka ($125) and baguette jamon serrano y mozarella ($195). The shakshuka base was more of a soup than a sauce and its flavor was decent. We asked for the sandwich without olives but it still had some in there but it was fine. For drinks the flat white ($65) and americano ($45) were okay. It's more peaceful and not as busy if that's the vibe you're looking for. If you want another place to relax you can head through the door at the back of the cafe to the lobby of the hotel. If you're staying at the hotel this cafe is very convenient to get pastries or coffee.

Gorgeous building. That hidden door makes sense. Mostly tourist, a few pretentious folk making me smile. I feel like if I don't look up I could be back at home in echo park. There is a local getting some work done on his laptop next to me. Small place, you could sit at the bar , there's 5 wooden stools. Now to the coffee. I had a single cappuccino with oatmilk. Strong and delicious coffee. It makes me not want to try other coffee shops but I must compare! You'll find goat milk yogurt here and chia pudding which I need before I venture off to my temazcal. Good coffee and grateful for light breakfast items items that are good for my sensitive gut. I asked and the coffee beans are legit from Oaxaca roasted from a place called San Juan cacahuatepec.

I like their food -they have homemade vegan soyrizo (that you can buy to go). Unfortunately I am not too crazy about their bread (the burger is great but I kinda had to eat around the bun). They have a little juice bar, a small restaurant with vegan and vegetarian options, a grocery section with health/ nutritional items, and a fridge behind the checkout that has really great soy, setan, and amaranth meat alternatives. The best part about trigo verde is it's very affordable!! I found some of their nutritional items (ex. Nutritional yeast) to be pricer then other naturalistas in the area. Their fresh food, however, is very affordable. I come just for their fridge of fresh food items. The hummus and the steak looking fake meat are delicious! Also try the amaranth burger! I hear that on Monday they have comida corrida all vegan (meatless Monday special cheap menu) but I haven't confirmed this yet. Everyone who works here is friendly and knowledgeable. They seem like they actually want to help you and they really care about health, which i haven't seen in the naturalistas I've visited. Also, there is a manager who is sometimes here who speaks perfect English... always a plus. He told me that this is a family business, another plus! The only reason I took off a star was I had a salad here once and it was very bland and boring. It had pasta, garbanzo beans, and somewhat stale lettuce. Next time I'll just have a tostada or an amaranth burger Thanks trigo verde family for bringing these options to Oaxaca and making veganism more accessible!

It's a relatively large restaurant and they were able to seat me immediately which was great as I was starving upon arrival. The decor is simple but nice. It's definitely less flashy than similarly priced restaurants in the area, which wasn't an issue for me but take that as you will (ie not sure it's the best for a romantic date night). I ordered the tortilla soup which I didn't love, but it could just be a matter of personal preference. The avocado in it wasn't quite ripe enough. The pork tacos, however, were absolutely fantastic and it was a very generously sized portion. I loved the accoutrements it came with like the salsa and pickled onions. For a drink I ordered the chapulin cocktail mostly because I wanted to try chapulines, which I actually enjoyed more than I was expecting, but the drink itself was unexciting and didn't taste very boozy at all. Overall I would come back for the tacos and try some other menu items too, but I would skip the soup and cocktail next time.

I also must say that the waitresses were rathet grumpy, looked tired and acted annoyed so I could not speak well of the customer service. For there reasons I had to keep it at two stars although I do appreciate that it was a healthier alternative to other restaurants nearby. I ordered the Chile Relleno de Picadillo de Championes (stuffed pepper with minced mushrooms) however there was no dried cranberries or almonds like the menu promised. I also didn't notice any mango curry sauce either. The brown rice it came with was mushy and too salty on top and the "serving of vegetables" was soo small. Just not worth the 130 pesos for such a small stuffed pepper that looked nothing like the picture on some of the other reviews which I am starting to wonder might be fake. My partner ordered the sopa de cacahuate for 40 pesos and the Chile relleno de Platano Macho which came with rice and beans for 80 pesos. As you can tell from the picture, they used the smallest pepper possible and being that plantains, beans and rice are so cheap I don't know how they can justify 80 pesos. We liked the baked tortilla chips (which was a much healthier option than fried tortilla chips) and the four small slices of chewy sourdough bread but did not like the sauce at all which my partner also wasn't a big fan of. The peanut soup was good and I enjoyed the peanuts with the peas ... it was unique and the process for that was actually more reasonable at 50 pesos. It could have used more spices however!! The waitresses looked so miserable and seemed annoyed at the customers ... the food actually tastes better if you ignore them.
