They took us to "Big Al's" which they have been dining at since 2021. As we walked in I noticed how clean the restaurant was and very well laid out with good lighting with dining utensils and napkins in a container on your table. They have a full bar underneath a large red neon "Cocktail" sign to fulfill whatever your drinking preference happens to be! We ordered two pitchers of their Sangria which was spot on with its sweetness and taste. The waiter who was very friendly and very attentive to us actually suggested he bring them out one at a time to keep the Sangria cool (plus it did save on table space as well.). The Sangria was refreshing, fruity and flavorful which was what we needed after a day sunning on the beach and I must say we did get to the second pitcher rather quickly! For appetizers we ordered the Pulled Pork Nachos and our friends ordered the Three Cheese Quesadilla. The Quesadilla had the perfect amount of blended cheeses and a nice crisp toasting. The Pulled Pork Nachos were fantastic too! The barbecue pork tasted as good if not better than that we eat in the Midwest (Missouri). The melted cheese blended in so well with the Pulled Pork & slices of pickled Jalapeño. The barbecue sauce tasted superb with the right amount of sweetness and tanginess which matched the correct flavor and just a very light smoky flavor. The barbecue sauce again was so "spot on" with taste and flavor that after dining I told their management it tasted exactly what we expect if we were at an American barbecue restaurant in America! We all got Deluxe Cheeseburgers which come with lettuce, tomato, onion, mayonnaise and cheddar cheese (two of us added crisp bacon to our Cheeseburgers which took them up to a sensational delight to bite into!). The taste, flavor and juiciness of the beef was spot on with a explosion of flavor combining the crispness of the lettuce, the gentle "bite" of onion, the cheesy taste of the cheddar and the creaminess of the mayo that one would expect when biting into a perfect cooked and prepared burger! (And for those who added the bacon...Wow!!! Again, the crispy flavorful taste and texture of the bacon took their burgers to the next level!) We do plan on returning before we head back home to have another meal at Big Al's and that trip we plan on getting their Onion Rings which looked amazing! Highly recommend you give them a try!

For some reason someone opened the door while we were eating and even though it says no smoking on the patio, there were smokers. Eventually someone closed it but smoke can really ruin a meal.

Next time we go back we'll try the 'Vegan Goan Curry' which looks great. They have soy milk too and were happy to Vegan-ise drinks that were on the menu e.g. they made us a soy café frappé. The do have 'Vegan Chai Latte' listed too. When we last ate at Red Velvet it coincided with the Sitges Tapas Festival. Every participating cafe and restaurant in the town had submitted one tapas dish which could be purchased for a limited period. Hats off to Red Velvet for submitting the only Vegan entry! The restaurant has a small menu (which I think is how it's supposed to be) with vegetarian, gluten free and organic options. There are also dishes that change and are not on the menu. During our visit I've seen several orders for other guests pass by our table that caught my eye! The amuse bouche was very nice. Had one of the organic salads with red beetroot and as main course the chicken teriyaki. Both were very nice. Only thing for me was that the portion was a bit on the small size, partly probably because I didn't eat the rice due to my low carb diet. I was seriously considering having one of the dishes not on the menu: tower of grilled vegetables with a slice of goats cheese on top; it looked so nice every time it passed by our table (-: As a special treat I had a super nice chocolate chip cookie. The idea is simple the beer tap is connected to a gauge that records how much beer is poured and then at the end of the night you pay by the litre. It's also worth noting that at EUR7 per litre it's not too cheap, but since its good quality German beer there weren't too many complaints from our group. As well as German beer, this German owned bar also offers good quality German food. So if you're fed up with Tapas and Spanish beer this might just be the place for you.
