Very upscale interior design, folks go to mostly drink. Their pintxos were large in size and very filling. It was too early for alcohol, so I opted for a sparkling bottled water with lemon. Very hard to determine what you are getting, since there were no labels. They tasted fresh but you can tell it's been sitting there for quite a while based on the food temperatures. Three AND A HALF stars for me personally but will go back for next time and try their pintxos with a good wine and great company.

Delicious food and they are SO accommodating with allergies! They can make most of their pinxtos gluten free and will make you a plate of whichever you'd like gluten free if you ask! Their tinto de verano is also delicious.

I'm rather surprised at the mixed somewhat all over the place reviews on Orio as I've dined here on several occasions and have found everything about the place to be a delightful as well as unique culinary experience. At my last experience I ordered their fish special. I asked what kind of fish it was but the only answer I could get, or at least the only answer I could understand, was that it was a white flaky fish. Prior to my fish being served, however, I was given a complementary wooden stick containing some really tasty olives wrapped between white anchovy which was an appetizer treat I've never been served before. When my fish came, the presentation was first class and the fish, whatever kind it was, one of the best in overall texture and flavor I've ever had. Orio isn't a fancy restaurant, doesn't try to be. It's almost pub like in atmosphere but has a huge array of desserts, specials and a specialty of fresh shucked oysters. Another good thing about it is its location on Ferran Street, a pedestrian street that is one of my favorite walking streets in Barcelona. For the quality, freshness and unique tasty preparations of their food and the prices of it which are more than reasonable, for what it is, and though nothing fancy, it's a solid Four Stars for me.

This is about a 3.5 stars. Places like this make me wish we could give half stars. We went in for tapas and some drinks and it was ok. I had about 15 different tapas or so and while three of them were extremely delicious and worth repeating the rest were just ok. They are nicely presented and plated. The place is or at least seemed clean; the staff was amiable and they had some enjoyable music on. No one had actually recommended it to us, unlike most of the other restaurants we went to, but it was conveniently located so Why not? A-OK

I love their tapas and main courses. I tried fish, the catch of the day, which was hake that day. Hake with thinly sliced potatoes, garlic, oil and more flavours.. Delicious! And the tapas is perfect size and the flavour combination is beyond! Recommend this beautiful place to every one in Barcelona!

The place had a welcoming vibe, and pintxos were on offer, so we figured why not? Overall, it was a good lunch, but the selection of pintxos was pretty limited - not nearly as robust, creative, or flavorful as a few other places we'd tried earlier in the week across town. Nothing was bad, but nothing really stood out either. Service was okay - efficient but not particularly warm or engaging. You definitely get the sense this is a spot that sees a lot of tourists, and the staff may be a little weary of that constant flow. At the table next to us, a group of fellow American travelers were all eating burgers and fries... which kind of summed it up. That said, the location is convenient, and if you're nearby and want a quick bite in a casual setting, it's not a bad choice. Just don't expect to be blown away. 4 stars

As the kind gentleman mentioned, La Boqueria was just too busy and this smaller market had a better pace for Pinotxo. They have a counter with 10 bar stools and open kitchen format with food displayed at the counter. I can see seating becoming a premium as the day progresses. I arrived shortly after they opened and already there were 3 customers ordering Cafe Con Leches and Xuxos. I did the same with my Xuxo to go. I saw they had Octopus Galician style and despite the am hour couldn't resist. Pinotxo's version was very good-that said, I've had more tender Octopus. Definitely a Tapa size and pricey for the portion but gave me my fix for one of my favorite dishes before leaving Barcelona. I saw Tripe and Beef cheeks on the menu and asked one of the servers which one? She gave me a look of "I can't decide"meaning can't go wrong with either. Ordered the Beef cheeks as I've never had it. Rich, decadent and definitely not a breakfast meal-I liked it! I was told the white cubes were collagen and not fat. Definitely a dish to try. Cafe Con Leche was excellent! The Xuxo (one of Jose Andres's favorites) was amazing! Like a donut, a little bit of flakiness of a croissant and filled with this rich, delicious Crema and as if that wasn't enough coated with sugar. We loved it! One of those delicacies that sells out early. Service was engaged and friendly from all of the people behind the counter. They are located inside the Market at one of the corners (Tamarit/Urgell) before the exit. Make this stop for Xuxos and some delicacies you won't find at your typical spots in the area.

Everything at the bar was cold like smoked salmon, anchovies, pickled peppers, goat cheese, tartlets, etc. A waiter did come around once in a while with a hot offering of croquettes and a mini hamburger with caramelized onions.
