Today I went with the Esquite and a Mango Sorbet. My first time trying the esquite I had them put everything in it, (mayo, fresh squeezed lIme juice, cheese & chili spice) and I didn't care for the lime juice. This time I had it minus the lime juice and I must say it was deeeeelicious! Creamy, cheesy goodness! The mango sorbet had a very fresh mango flavor. Love this spot! We visited on the first warm day of spring, and our visit was an excellent decision! The place was packed. The parking lot was absolutely full, and the line was a mile long, and it was still one hundred percent worth the visit. There was no seating available, so my family and I camped out in the back of our SUV to enjoy our treats. I had the mango chamoyada. My husband had ice cream, and my son had a kiwi paleta. All were fantastic! There were so many things on the menu and that I saw other people eating that I am excited to try in the future, including an opened bag of Doritos filled with salsa. I've been wanting to try this place out and finally got around to doing so today. I met up with a gf here after work today around 6p. There were quite a few tables filled when we arrived and it gradually got busier as time went by. I came here mainly for the mango and guava chamoyada but also saw that they offered mexican corn which is a favorite of mine so of course I had to try that too! The mexican corn is served two ways here. You can either get it on the cob or in a cup. I've never had it in a cup so I stuck with my usual corn on the cob. The corn was ok, I've had better. The chamoyada was interesting. I liked the flavor of the guava better than the mango but I didn't like all the seeds in the guava. The spices were a little overwhelming in the beginning but after awhile it all kinda came together. The overall dessert was quite refreshing and filling. I liked it but didn't love it. It is located in a small plaza and the shop itself is small with maybe the counter one side and maybe 9 tables with chairs. It is very clean and spotless. My bf and I arrive after dinner and there was line but not too long. They have their menus plaster on the wall but my eyes were combing to find the ice cream called chamoy (picture uploaded). They have both water base ice cream (like a Popsicle) and milk base. The ice cream was like a sundae except without the fudge, whip cream, etc. It was their version with sour, salty, and spicy seasoning. The red liquid was probably a tamarind base syrup with chili seasoning. You had a choice of pineapple, lime, coconut, and other flavors which I can't remember which they will scoop in a plastic up, drizzle it with the red liquid and top it with the chili seasoning. It had the seasons of life, salty, sweet, sour, and spicy (IMO). They also garnish it with a stick that had the tamarind with chili. All this for $3.99, with tax was $4.27. They are super nice and friendly...took time out to explain the different items on their menu. Maybe I was latin in another life, but I love the sweet and spicy taste. I tried the chamoyada and I got mango and lime. A chamoyada is a sorbet ice cream with chile & lime pepper (chamoya) on top. The chile stuff they put on top is awesome and adds a little kick to the ice cream. I also tried the eggnog ice cream that I got for Chef Justin White and it was great. The service was great. Since I only know a little bit of Spanish, it helped that they spoke English and they even chuckled at my attempt to communicate in Spanish :P. I love the pictures on the wall that help you figure out what you want because it's kind of overwhelming not knowing what to get.
