I usually buy New York strips, Ribeye Steaks and Brisket. I love looking at all of the cuts in the meat counter. They also have a great selection of sausage. The Jalapeno & cheddar is my favorite! The service is always friendly and the store well stocked. My last trip was for New York strip steaks. I also love their house blended rubs! There's almost nothing you can't find here. They have everything from duck to Turducken. Did I mention the rotisserie chicken or divine homemade pies? Peach & Apple all delicious. I had a few basic questions about their products and pricing, and it felt like I was inconveniencing the staff just by asking. There was little effort to explain options or provide recommendations. The store itself also seemed disorganized and not as clean as I would expect from a meat market. The display cases didn't look well-maintained, and some products appeared poorly labeled, making it hard to tell what I was purchasing. On top of that, the pricing didn't reflect the level of quality or service provided. I expected better overall professionalism and attention to detail. Based on this visit, I wouldn't return or recommend it to others unless significant improvements are made in customer service and store upkeep.

Texas Monthly called their beef jerky something like, "transcendent." I'm inclined to agree. Some of the best beef jerky I've ever had. They sell beef, lamb, pork too. There are giant take home boxes where you can grab several pounds of meat at once for a big party or a tailgate. The prices are all so low. So obviously, all the meats are coming from the classes that they're teaching in the meat and food sciences building that this place is attached to. Those spare ribs might have been some student's midterm project. The meat is all displayed (shrink wrapped) in big glass cases. Prices are clearly displayed. Buy in bulk and save! Everything is clearly labeled with the Texas A&M logo so nobody gets confused about where you got your meat. They have helpful posters that inform the purchaser about where different cuts come from on the animal. The staff was super friendly and helpful. They offer a microwave in the corner if you need to warm up something and take it to go. My favorite is the sausage that's shaped into a football. Gig 'em! They have a bakery department that sells fresh pastries and yummy looking cakes and for a very decent price. All their meat items look very fresh. They sell chicharron and other fried items. I had one of them and although, very oily and unhealthy, it was very delicious to have once in a blue moon. Some of the other daily things that you'd typically buy from HEB or Krogers such as chips and drinks are a bit more expensive here, but they place does have a lot of things that aren't sold in those other stores. All of this would garner a two to three star review, but when we went to checkout, and tried to look up an avocado, it didn't pop up. We then asked the associate(Monica) for help entering the avocado because it didn't pop up when we searched for it in their system. Monica the cashier said they don't show up in our system and to just type the number in like it was super obvious and everyone who doesn't work for HEB should know this. We then followed up by saying it does not have a sticker and Monica who has worked there for three years rolled her eyes and said all you have to do is type in the number, which she knew because she worked there and said it's that simple in a very sarcastic tone that was clearly directed to be rude and to belittle us(the customer). This is by far the worst customer service you could give in a less than 15 second interaction. I can see why there was hardly anyone in this store if this is the level of customer service that is acceptable to them.
