Came here for the first time with my kids. Basically, a medium sized grocery store conveniently located in the vicinity of the Texas A&M apartments and school. Gas and the food are pretty cheap, the groceries not so much. Definitely can find cheaper groceries from HEB and Krogers. I must say that the food is pretty reasonable for the amount of food you get and the quality. HEB and Krogers got some hot deli items as well, but Brookshire Brothers, I feel are on a higher level. They have BBQ, sushi, pizza, salad bar, and fried stuff. We ended up ordering 12 pieces of fried chicken, 1lb of fried catfish (8-10pcs), large mash potatoes w/ gravy, and medium mac'n cheese. The breading on the chicken and catfish are very flavorful, although, it might be too much breading, but it was perfectly fried, that it tasted like a part of the skin. The downfall for me, is I wished that they served the bucket chickens with just dark meat instead having to get breast and wings. The staff also informed me that if you're ordering anything more than 12 pieces of chicken, I'd have to phone order it in because it takes approximately 17 minutes to fry. I'll definitely be back because like I stated earlier, pretty decent price for the amount of food I got. I paid less than $50 for all the food I ordered for my family. The staff are very friendly. The parking lot is huge. They have a dining area upstairs and a bar downstairs where you can watch sports on TV.

Resembles a small grocery store attached to a gas station and outdoor stadium seating theater. Very clean and spacious.

Grocery wise - HEB has more selection and better prices - which matters on groceries.

Gig 'em!!! Aggies know meat!…read more This place is absolutely awesome. Utterly incredible. The prices look like they haven't changed them in years. Go in for the Aggie Special - a sausage wrap and a large soda for C H E A P. They also sell some fantastic beef jerky if you're looking for something chewy. Texas Monthly called their beef jerky something like, "transcendent." I'm inclined to agree. Some of the best beef jerky I've ever had. They sell beef, lamb, pork too. There are giant take home boxes where you can grab several pounds of meat at once for a big party or a tailgate. The prices are all so low. So obviously, all the meats are coming from the classes that they're teaching in the meat and food sciences building that this place is attached to. Those spare ribs might have been some student's midterm project. The meat is all displayed (shrink wrapped) in big glass cases. Prices are clearly displayed. Buy in bulk and save! Everything is clearly labeled with the Texas A&M logo so nobody gets confused about where you got your meat. They have helpful posters that inform the purchaser about where different cuts come from on the animal. The staff was super friendly and helpful. They offer a microwave in the corner if you need to warm up something and take it to go. My favorite is the sausage that's shaped into a football. Gig 'em! If you're on campus, you gotta check this out. This store will convert the strictest of vegetarians into carnivores! Whoop!

This is my childhood Walmart and it has kept up over the last several decades. The reason for this…read morereview is mostly to get kudos to Mark T. in automotive as he went above and beyond to make my New Year's Eve less of a nightmare. My battery corroded pretty bad and after 5 hours of trying to fix a dead battery, I took my irritable self to Walmart Auto Care. Outside waiting for a scheduled customer was Mark and he had this chill vibe about him. I brought the battery in and he quickly helped me replace it. He let me know it was under warranty for another year. I had other shopping to do so I asked him if I could leave the battery and grab the couple of items. When I got back he said he had looked for me a cart for transport and I appreciated the gesture. He helped me carry my items to my car -- above and beyond, truly. Otherwise, this Walmart remains the same. Too much bread/dessert made and wasted, fruit and vegetables either cheap and great or absolutely ridiculous, a crowded cosmetics department, and overworked employees.

Arrived late and left early but still enough time to pop inside for a shop. The store is in good…read moreshape with more than enough Aggie stuff on sale. It's a full Supercenter with a large grocery section where I was able to find a few snacks for the road, then over to the men's wear for a tshirt. I'm going to have to do laundry soon! Easy checkout. I found a quiet spot, parked up, locked up and got ready for sleep. I was not disturbed and was on my way before the store opened in the morning. Easy! Thanks, Walmart. We RV'ers appreciate that you tolerate our using your parking lot. [Review 845 of 2024 - round number 600 in Texas - 21875 overall]
