The Slightly Longer Version: The name of this bakery, L'Amour du Pain, gives me a chuckle. It translates to The Love of Bread, but since I'm an Anglophone I always think of it as The Love of Pain, lol. Luckily, the pastries here give me joy and not pain. The cheese croissant (croissant au fromage) ($4.25) here is delicious. Very flakey and buttery with nice cheese flavour. I had Chocolate Swiss Bread (Pain Suisse au Chocolat $4.95) here for the first time and also enjoyed it. It's like a long flatter croissant with vanilla custard and chocolate chips inside. Yummy custard, crisply baked apple slices wrapped in a pastry and topped with toasted almond clusters and dusted all over with icing sugar. Loved it!! Tried the chocolatine and on the outside looks huge!! It's actually just air lol (see cross section photo). It was alright. Finally I picked up a spinach quiche. Toasted it up a bit in the oven to warm it up. It's simply made with a good amount of spinach on top. The quiche has a strong spinach flavor and the egg portion was just a bit salty for me. But I did go on a Sunday night so it was emptier than usual. There is a table in the center that has plugs for your charger cables but it's not the best seat. I wish they had more plugs in the corners of the store to be unbothered. It achieves the purpose of being a good Internet cafe to study or get some work done which is what I needed at the time.
