First time here and asked for 5# marinated fajitas and 5# short ribs marinated. I won't even say he was a butcher more like a I'm gonna wrap 5# of one large thick chunk of fajita for you and not prep it at all guy. The meat was horrible on top of that. Tuff and bad taste. There food is great just wish there attitude was better. I get it you have great food. The ladies at the registers are also so rude if you are not a man in from of these woman you get the attitude that almost says get your stuff and get out. They are so rude. But what ever I mean the man who stands at the entrance is not there anymore. He at least said hi to everyone who came in man or woman. But no matter what I'll still get the food because it's good. I went to La Montana to pick up 2 lbs of cooked Fajita Beef and 2 lbs of Barbacoa for dinner along with fresh tortillas. My daughters are better judges than I am. My oldest daughter said that was outstanding Barbacoa meat, some of the best she's tasted. It was not greasy, was flavored well and good quality meat. That made very good tacos for dinner. You also can't beat the price per pound. If you try making your own, it won't turn out as good and you'll spend more than that on time and effort. Highly recommended. The fajita beef was really good. Not raving about it, but the Carne Asada beef fajita is high quality and better than what you'll find at nearly any restaurant. Definitely consider placing an order for the finished meats, then prepare your own toppings at home. We grow fresh cilantro, green onions, peppers, etc... in our own garden, so adding fresh veggies to the great quality meats on tacos was a full dinner. read more

please stop using the tongs out the pork containers to get beef or chicken with. I don't eat pork and that's cross contamination

I live in North Houston by the a Woodlands area, and I will not buy my fajita anywhere else if it is not La Montaña! I will drive the 37 miles every other weekend when I bbq and the owners are always making sure the customer service is 110 percent, i cannot stress this enough when I say the quality of any of their meats is top of the line. This place is amazing! I came here to buy meat after having an awful experience at a meat market down the street ( Mexico lindo) and I couldn't believe how amazing the meat was. So fresh and delicious. I will say that the price is a little higher but well worth it if you want great, fresh cuts of meat. This was my first time here but it was really busy and they seem to also have a little restaurant at the front. I was really impressed, the staff was very friendly. Nobody is pickier with their meat than my father because my grandfather was the go-to guy to get your meat from in his town in Mexico. So... PARTY CATERING: Yes, do it. We've ordered large quantities of mixed fajitas from this place in three occasions. It comes in large aluminum tins so you'll have to set it up in something different for your party but it's not a big deal. The chicken is marinated in some red stuff (lol) and mixed with bell peppers and it's VERY GOOD! Not dry at all (which is my father's biggest pet peeve). Beef fajita also comes with a mix of bells peppers and is super juicy. SERVICE: When you pick it up they take it right out to your car - super friendly! They ask for time you want this ready and we always stop by a little earlier (~30 min) and it's ready to go. So they won't delay your party plans! read more

First of all, if you're looking to dine in on some good meat, this is the place for you. This place has very high quality meat! I've never seen a place have a great mix of quality between their chicken and beef fajitas. Their sausages are just as amazing as well. More importantly however, the staff does a great job making sure that their meals are prepared on time for you. I myself have never bought any of the meat from the butcher but I do know a few people that do and they seems to like the quality of the meat. However, they sell Breakfast and Lunch tacos and plates and I do buy the breakfast tacos quite often and they are honestly the best in this area of town. My favorite is the deshebrada (which they only have Monday-Friday), absolutely delicious! read more
