The food was pretty good. The place is a little small so reservations are encouraged which is to be expected in Madrid. We got the devolución de tapas which basically a couple bites of 6-8 of the tapas. They were all pretty good and came out quickly. If I went back I'd get the wontons, and skip the beef with cream. read more

One of my favorite tapas spots to eat in Madrid-I always keep coming back. This isn't your normal Spanish tapas place-it's an Asian Fusion tapas spot. My boyfriend and I always make a reservation online because this place gets packed so quickly. Prices are fair, food has so much flavor. Customer service is great and the food comes out super quickly. For two people, with drinks, we normally spend 40 euros. Veggies listen up! Options are abound, and worry not- your belly and wallet shall runneth over (but not in a weird roman gastropub sense). Recommend: guac/nachos are outstanding, veggie tempura had a good mix, but killer in the vinegar dip. Staff was very helpful and friendly, Downand a lack of spanish skills should hold no issue. I lived in Madrid for many years and ate at La Musa on Manuela Malasaña more times than I can count. Yes, it can get overcrowded... yes, the music is too loud at night while you're eating... but the food is fantastic (the menú was always interesting and a good value at lunchtime; for dinner and weekend lunch, I usually ordered tomates verdes fritos with goat cheese and fig jam; jabali; and La Bomba. But the real pleasure of La Musa is going there for breakfast, only on weekdays. The Catalan breakfast (jamon serrano, gently scrambled eggs, pan tumaca and the best cafe con leche in Madrid - really more along the lines of a cappuccino, plus freshly squeezed OJ) is to die for... and you've got all the newspapers at your disposal, it's not crowded, the music is perfect, and the morning waitstaff are wonderful. In fact, the best service I ever experienced in Madrid was at La Musa. They are warm, friendly, and professional. read more

During a recent trip to Spain, this place came up as heavily recommended and it did not disappoint. The tapas were among the best we had while in Spain and all of the food was reasonably priced. It was also great to find a place serving food before 9:00 PM. With the tapas, La Bomba was our unanimous favorite. A close second was the grilled meat plate which comes with incredibly flavorful prawns, chicken, beef, and pork. The sauces they serve with that were wonderful. We also had the Caprese salad which was fantastic. My friend doesn't really enjoy salads normally and he couldn't get enough of it The drinks are reasonably priced and delicious and I'd recommend getting a jar of sangria. The one thing that was underwhelming was the dessert. We got a sampling of the various desserts on offer and while they were good, none of them wowed us like the food. We got the : gyoza (pot stickers), guacamole (awesome concept, didn't know you would actually mash it & add the lemon & salt/pepper at the table), caprese salad (the pesto sauce was a little bit much), calamari, sliders (hamburgers), croquettes - ham, eggplant tempura (meh) and probably more but I cant think right now... This was a fun location. We were seeking round this area for a place with a terrace to enjoy the evening atmosphere but that didn't work out. However, Musa was a good alternative. I love this place! So cute and great service. I visited here on my recent trip to Madrid and I highly recommend. I had the Tinto De Verano naturally and it was refreshing and delish. I also ordered the Peru ceviche and it was so fresh and amazing. I also had the tempura shrimp and avocado and it was also very good. La Musa is fantastic!!! The staff was friendly and helpful in explaining the menu in detail. We are visiting from the U.S. and after a few days of eating "typical" Spanish food (which is delicious but can get greasy and crazy fattening) La Musa came highly recommend s and did not disappoint. The dishes are a twist on Spanish food fused with Asian, Mexican, and others. We ordered 3 tapas between my husband and I and they were delishhhhhh!!followed with a few beers, we were in heaven. The place obviously try hard to be cool and seem to succeed if you look at the youngish/hip crowd (or wannabes). Music is loud and decor is kind of cool. It was generally a nice experience except that contrary to other reviewers I found the food to be quite average. Still for about 11 euro for the set lunch menu (including appetizer, main, dessert and drink) it's quite a good value. Service was efficient and courteous and the place was crowded with a quite a few waiting for a table. read more

Went here with my boyfriend during the World Cup and it wasn't crowded or noisy at all and the atmosphere was nice and calm. After reading the reviews we decided to share the mixed tapas plate and I thought the food was okay. My boyfriend is allergic to shrimp and we told our waitress since we weren't sure what was going to be inside of all the different tapas. We received a California roll with shrimp inside and we were not told of the shrimp. After my boyfriend ate a piece his lip started to puff up and we called our waitress over to ask her what was in the California roll she said she wasn't sure and went to go check with the chef. She came back embarrassed and apologized. We left early before we go to the deserts to go to the pharmacy and they still made us pay for the entire meal. Won't come here again and was very disappointed by the way this situation was handled. If his allergy was a bit more serious he could have ended up in the hospital. Went here twice. First night was lovely. Good food and ambience was great. Second night was the exact opposite. The food wasn't as good, but that was nothing compared to the harassment the wait staff let us endure from a group of drunk British guys. A large group of 12 very intoxicated older British males swarmed the bar. Several sat next to myself and my partner. We are clearly out and proud lesbians. We were harassed by these individuals for over 30 minutes. We were forced to smile and laugh as these drunk men asked us harassing questions about our sexuality. The restaurant did nothing to intervene. These guys also drank outside (until the wait staff asked several times for them to stop) and basically smoked in the dining room, as they were right outside the open windows. At the end of the night, the waitress couldn't figure out the credit card machine, so even though we paid our check with Amex literally the night before, we had to use a different card - a big deal because this was an anniversary gift from my aunt, who asked us to use that specific card. We told the waitress what happened, she apologized but mostly just acted awkward and embarrassed. Even if she had no idea what they were saying each other, she surely saw these guys drape themselves over my wife and I. Is it standard practice to let women get physically harassed here? We were harassed in this restaurant and literally nobody cared. If you have a basic expectation that you can come to a restaurant and not deal with drunk hooligans coming in and harassing you, then go someplace else. This place will watch it happen and gladly take your money for the experience. read more

We stubbled across the place while roaming the streets of Madrid. It's a small eclectic place that packs a lot of flavor in its dishes. I ordered the calamari sandwich and more than one month later I am still craving more. I had calamari sandwiches in three different locations while in Madrid and this one is the only one I actually find myself craving. All the dishes here are tiny (tapas after all) but they are so worth the money. We went in a group of four so I had the chance to try a few different things and every single one was incredible. We read the reviews and gave this place a try. We arrived at 7:30pm and the restaurant was empty but not for long. We ordered the tapas combination for 30Euro and a bottle of wine. The combo came in 8 or 9 tapas (Lost count!) and 3 different dessert. It's surprisingly a lot of food and we were full when dessert came. Very cute place...I had the ceviche, mixed tempura with shrimp & avocado and the calamari. All were very tasty and delicious. After you're done here go across the street to the bar that has over 100+ shots for your night cap. This whole little street has nice charming spots. First review in Madrid. La Musa is a small restaurant bar with good food and decent but small selection of beers. Kind of hidden and Cannot fit a large crowd in here. And after 9pm it gets full. It's Wednesday so looks very peaceful during the afternoon. More young and a few older persons. English music and kind of fast music for a Wednesday. Lightning is perfect for the atmosphere and you can still see what you are eating. Free cheese when you sit at the bar. Central air so temp is good. Had the Bomba patata rellena and It is an excellent Spanish tapa. Virginia is a local Madrid beer; has great taste. Paulaner is a good draft wheat beer. Both were served at the right temperature. What surprised me the most is that Tenders are always moving hastily serving around but attentive to any needs; never went dry. I Would definitely come back if I was in this area of Madrid again.
