    Mocktails

Food: The food here was very delicious and flavorful. Cured meat - very tender and flavorful. My favorite dish. Cheese board - great variety and our server explained the cheeses to us and recommended an order for eating. Mocktails - my companion does not drink alcohol. The staff was very accommodating in making delicious mocktails for us. Meatballs - so delicious and flavorful. I could've eaten a few more orders. Char Siu - I was really let down by this based on the positive reviews I had seen. It wasn't very tender and the flavor was lacking. Our server brought us free after dinner mocktails to make up for it. Service: 10/10 very attentive, accommodating, and friendly. Ambiance: A lovely restaurant. We were sat inside by the window with a view of the bar. The restaurant and bathrooms were very clean.

This place is amazing and a gem! My fiancée and I found this spot not knowing what to expect. We were getting used to tapas but then Ástor brings a completely new level to the game! Delicious appetizers, unbelievably tasty entrees, smooth wine, and outstanding dessert. Service can't be better! We miss this place so much!

Here I am once more to the #1 restaurant in town. It's truly a hidden gem. Bit of my joy of visiting Madrid is the excitement of being able to go to Astor. This time I got the bocadillo de jamón, another one of bacalao and iberico de bellota ham. This guy's ham is ridiculously good. I proceeded to have the corvina and the Argentinian steak. I usually don't get fish as main but the waitress suggested it to try. I am so glad Raquel suggested it because it was one of the highlights of the night. So I continued with some more fish... the fried ceviche. OmG. Best! For dessert I got the cheesecake and it was fantastic as well. What can I say... once again and forever, Astor got my love. Thanks Astor!

Phenomenal find. This gem of a spot is on a tiny side street, tucked away in a charming and intimate manner, just as the inside also is charming and romantic. We had the best service that we have had in all of Madrid and probably all of Spain, including Madrid and Seville. The food was outstanding, full of delicious surprises and luxurious flavors. We had the rib-eye, the steak special, the Astor salad, tintos de veranos, and a local red wine. We also were treated to house special samples of the mozzarella croquettes and dessert drink and they were simple scrumptious. This place was recommended to us by an out of the country family member, and we will recommend to everyone we know! Again, truly perfect service, atmosphere, and tastes!

this is a lovely little restaurant w such a charming ambiance and great service. there are intentionally only 8 tables inside to maintain that intimate attentive atmosphere. we didn't have a reservation but luckily someone was a no show and we were able to be seated despite its name, the char siu was not bbq but a braised pork belly dish, very reminiscent of dong po rou for any of my chinese food lovers out there. we were also given cheese croquettes and amaretto sours on the house which were lovely. the beet hummus was my dad's favorite but i overall found the food to be a little too mild for my palette

I ordered the beet hummus, half order of the cod croquettes, and the salmon tartar. Everything was very good- including the service. I would definitely make a reservation prior to coming though.

Lovely and cozy little restaurant hidden in a little street in the center of the city. This place was recommended by a friend and it did not disappoint. The service was great and the food amazing. We had the Beet Hummus and Cod Fish Croquettes as appetisers and both were very tasty. As a main course, I had the Argentinian tenderloin and it was cooked perfectly as per my request. And my partner had the salmon (which he allowed me to taste hehehe) and it was a delight. The salmon was also perfectly cooked which was great because I really dislike it when it's overcooked. So two thumbs up to the chef for mastering the art of cooking.

I'll add my voices to the others here: this was perhaps the best overall meal my wife and I had in Madrid... And that's saying something. Extraordinary service during the lunch hour on a Sunday, with friendly and interesting servers. Pretty ideal ambiance, with a lovely sprig of herbs added to our placemats. They even offered us an entirely complimentary plate of cheese and digestif per person, just because. The food itself was standout: generous portion of beetroot hummus, along with beautifully presented leek empanadas, fresh ceviche, and tagliatelle with gorgeous shavings of truffle and parmesan. I mean, seriously. Go eat here.

The ambience and decor was superb. The waiters were so friendly and attentive. We started off with the Spanish cheese platter, bread and an appetizer on the house. We also had the Mushroom risotto. The steak was seasoned well just had a few to many fatty pieces. All in all it's an amazing restaurant. Would definitely recommend.

In one word - perfect. The best dining experience you can get in Madrid. Make sure to reserve at least a week in advance!

This is a veryyyy small cafe/breakfast spot. Make sure to get reservations or go at a not busy time…read morein order to get a seat. There were probably only 20 or so in the whole place. What I ordered: I got the toast with tomato spread, a cappuccino, and the chocolate cake. For the toast, they have two vintage toasters sitting on the main table so you can toast it yourself. This is cute, until you aren't the one at the main table so you have to reach over other people to toast your breakfast. The cake was a perfect amount of density and moisture; although, I would probably get a different flavor if I could do it over. A lot of people do chocolate cake a lot better than this. I do appreciate that they have all the cakes on a table and cut it right in front of you. Would I go back to this place? Honestly no because my experience wasn't overwhelmingly great and I think I could do better at other cafes nearby, but the quality of food here is simply top-notch.

Be sure to make a reservation because the restaurant is quaint--besides a communal table that seats around ten, I think I only saw a small bar space and two individual tables. The decor is modern, simple yet funky and homey, and the tables in front of the windows are beautiful! The menu includes several options where you can pick the number of side dishes and entree, so you can completely design your meal around your appetite. The ingredients tasted super fresh, and we especially loved the salads we tried! My friend was a little disappointed that his ceviche portion was so small, but it tasted great, and I loved the Asian-inspired chicken. Service was also pretty good, by Madrid standards. On my next visit to Madrid, I will be back to try the breakfast and baked goods :)

What a great spot by Mercado di San Miguel! I hope that it will get more reviews and nice pictures…read morefor the guests to trust their noses and go inside to explore. This is what we did even though I was a bit hesitant about. Never regretted we trusted our noses and the smell. First of all, thank a lot to the host - the British guy - he was back and forth helping other servers and bartender and attending tables. Very funny comments from him also! Now to the point. Food. It's very hard to surprise us with taste, but this place did. Thank you chef for being able to put all your passion and experience and deliver those small plates to the palate at the highest level. We had risotto de boletus and manchego (wild mushroom and manchego cheese risotto) that has not only an incredible cheesy mushroom aftertaste but also a crunchy piece of parmigiano that finishes perfectly a small tapa fish. Now to my favorite buratta cremosa con tomate raf dulce (fresh creamy buratta with sweet raf tomato) , oh my Spanish chef - you are competing big time with Italian made buratta and you are winning, the buratta is the creamiest and tastiest buratta we have ever tried outside Italy, the raf tomato is just something you can't forget the taste about and it addition to it you feel every herb in that pesto! Awesome job Chef! And to finish our gourmet experience we had carillera en costra de panceta (slow roasted beed wrapped in pancetta). Don't expect anything big, but be ready to give your palate an incredible experience of the balance between the most tender meat wrapped and bacon with a touch of garlic purée, a few tea spoons but what an ensemble ! Thank you Amicis - we will remember our food experience at your place !
