I wanted to try out different nail salons in Northfield. This was the shortest pedicure and poor quality. Nail tech was rude. I mentioned that their pedicure was short and she said they do 16 min total for scrub/massage for each foot. How is it possible that I was in and out in 35 min total with needing old gel taken off and new gel polish put on. Disappointing when this is your source of self care. My nails look lumpy and are short and stubby. I originally showed her pokadot design and she said she could easily do it. After a few attempts it was clear she could not. I ended up selected a new color, that then didn't look like the swatch. They were nice but don't go here unless you want lumpy nails! read more

They are my favorite nail salon in Northfield. They recently remodeled and the new pedicure and manicure stations are beautiful. I appreciate that they use new and sterilized equipment for each client. They are always able to fit us in on short notice and do a beautiful job accommodating my request for different artwork on my toes. Best of all the gel pedicures last at least a month! read more

1 word. Amazing!!! My sister and I wanted to get our nails done on Friday which I know is usually very busy for nails salons. We called 3 salon couldn't take us and LA nails were able to accommodate us with in an hour. I'd hate to admit I'm a nail shop hopper. I am very particular with coffin shaped nails. I look at my nail all day doing lashes so if it bugs me it will bug me until I get them refilled or I'll try to fix them then I end up doing a shitty job. I'm alway nervous when it come to getting them filled I hate to be that person to tell them how to do there job and would get disappointed if it's not what I like. I got Susie as my nail tech. She is sweet and very very gentle with my hands. I tried to tell her a few things and she very kindly with her eyes gave me the expression she got this and she knew exactly what I would like. I could help but laugh to myself and I knew I could trust her. That 42 dollar fill is worth every penny. Nails are evenly shaped, under my nails are feeling sharp and thin and the painted coats are even and in in love!!! Susie and LA nail you have gain a new regular. THANK YOU! read more

I made an appointment during the week for Saturday afternoon, which was kind of busy. I waited for about fifteen minutes after my appointment was supposed to start, then was able to get my nails done by Thuy (pronounced Tee). I got an acrylic fill ($33) and matte light beige gel polish on top. Overall, she did a good job of shaping and filing my nails, using three different filers and hand buffers. However, she didn't fill in the acrylic all the way to my cuticles, leaving some gaps on my nails that were accentuated by the thick polish on top. In addition, she wasn't very precise with the polish and left some streaks on my nails, especially visible because I had the matte topcoat. It was also pretty expensive for a fill (I usually get my full sets for around $38-$40 in California), especially after tip. One thing that was impressive, however, was that the manicurists were greeting customers by name as they walked in the door. That was cute. The salon had nice decor and Thuy was nice, but I don't know if I'll come back as regularly as I do with my usual salons. read more

I've given this salon now three chances. Every time they are way behind my appointment time, rush thru the service and are fairly rude. Today was the last straw. I booked a pedicure and to have my nails removed and simply painted. The pedicure was fine, they removed the nails and told me they didn't have time to paint them. Ok? So, I am just suppose to leave with ground down nasty nails? Kinda seems opposite of the point of coming. I am done with it and will not return. Extremely disappointed. WOW. So I went to a different nail salon earlier today & they did a terrible job, the salon was busy so she RUSHED my nails ugh. So I called LA nails in a nail emergency and told them my situation. I asked if they could take off my nails & re do them DIFFERENTLY. They said no problem come on in. So I went in & I had a sweet girl named Cindy who completely 100% took her time & made sure they looked great & she did an absolutely amazing job! I'm so impressed. I feel like most nail salons I go to are pretty basic with what they can do with nails & most of the time rush & don't know how to shape them. Staff was pushy and kept recommending the gel pedicure after I requested a classic pedicure and stated that they don't have many non gel nail polishes left and that they are old and "not very good" quality. I eventually found a color in a plain polish and stuck with the classic pedicure. They rushed through it and I felt uncomfortable throughout the process. I had an appointment for 12:30. She started the water at 12:40 then stopped it 1/3 filled with cold to soak and moved on to a manicure. Then finished filling with hot water.. I was trimmed scrubbed my heals for less than a minute (I garden, so I needed the callous at least partially removed!) hot towel for 1 minute, lotion rub a couple mins, then polish not even done right. I was literally done 1 by pm !!! Then waiting with my mom next to me for 20 minutes-(same appointment time!)while she got a nice treatment. My polish doesn't even go to the bottom. Could have done better myself, but I liked the massage chair! I don't recommend at all and won't go back again. I had great service before today with Phuong. read more

I came here with a bunch of girlfriends for a gel mani and pedi. First off, the tech pushed so hard that I get gel on my toes, so I gave in. The mani/pedi seemed fine on the surface but it was quite messy. I had nail polish around my finger and toe nails, which I had to clean up once I got home. I got a gel manicure today and it was outstanding! Phuong did an amazing job. She is was meticulous and spent time making sure the polish was even and my nails were filed nicely. I got a TOE INFECTION and had to go to the doctor from my pedicure. I had to have my toe cut open and take antibiotics and weeks later my nail is now falling off. Service was mediocre at best. I told my coworkers about it after they saw my limp and one of my coworkers had the same thing happen from this LA nails! She still doesn't like to wear sandals because of the permanent damage. LA Nails used to be wonderful! The owners were very humble, caring, kind-hearted and customer focused. Had two horrible experiences: 1) one of the nail technicians has warts on her hands. Warts are contagious. 2) my credit card was declined and they refused to take another. The owner said, "you pay with cash." The nail salon was full, and it was horribly embarrassing. read more

Despite being "the best in southern Minnesota," LA Nails has been a thorough disappointment and has become a point of rage for me. I have been to LA Nails a dozen times ; at first, I had a wonderful nail artist who called herself Tiffany, but the past three times I have been back I've had other nail artists who have destroyed my nails. I had acrylic nails put on and I have multiple complaints, first about the quality of the nails and second about the quality of the service. The nail artist did not practice good nail techniques. She neglected to put the adequate amount of gel layers to make the color last, and my nail color quickly chipped. Also, the actual acrylic chipped within a couple of days. Half of my thumb acrylic was gone by the third day. When I had them taken off on vacation, the nail artist pitied my broken and thin nails so much that he put nail strengthener on for free. All my nails were very thin and brittle after the acrylics were removed, which is somewhat normal, however it was not normal that just above the base of my thumb nail bed my nail had split open and was coming up. As far as the service goes, the nail artist at LA Nails was extremely rude. When I asked her to adjust the uneven acrylics she has applied, she scoffed at me and proceeded to do nothing about it. LA Nails is absolutely horrible in quality all around ; I would never recommend this place to anyone. read more

I have been going to LA Nails for over a year or so now, and always make an apt as they strongly suggested so to me. I called mid week and made an apt Saturday at 4pm for a friend and myself to get pedicures done. The girl I requested had to leave early, so they asked if someone else could fill in which I said was fine. We sat down at 4:05pm, then done at 4:30pm! We never received the full pedicure! The girl across from us was still getting hers done and started the same time, and my friend and I were done like that! My friend asked about getting a decoration of flowers on our big toes as we usually always do and the girl said "I'm sorry, too busy today", yet we HAD APPOINTMENTS!!! They were rushing us out to take walk-ins! Then to top it all off, I called and left a voice mail on their machine for someone to call me back with my name and number and that I was just in and not happy and no one even returned my phone call!
