    focaccia

Came here for lunch, knowing I wanted their fried octopus sandwich and ultimately had a hard time narrowing down what I wanted to get. The best thing we had was the focaccia barese with figs, capocollo, spicy honey, burrata and evoo. This was divine. The focaccia was beautifully crusty yet light, milky and creamy from the burrata, fresh and sweet from the honey and figs, and a salty, nutty savoury flavour from the capocollo. We got the sandwich of the day which was a chicken cutlet sandwich with homemade marinated eggplants, burrata and arugula in a beautifully crusty yet fluffy and fresh ciabatta. Lastly, the Panino Polignano, octopus sandwich. Again, fresh bread was used and a generous amount of octopus tentacle, burrata and a cooked pickly rapini. There was a pretty good balance of acidity and richness but I wish there was a bit more crisp to the octopus and it was hotter. The space is very bright and clean with nice decor. Service is knowledgeable and you can tell they're genuinely excited about their own food.

A warm atmosphere of a family Sunday home meal awaits you at this cozy, authentic Pugliese restaurant. They have a squid Sandwhich on their menu that we weren't brave enough to try but we still got food in abondanza. A wonderfully fresh foccacia topped with figs, prosciutto, luscious buratta and spicy honey, an incredible pasta dish with a tender braciola, an exquisite arancino bathing in a bowl of homemade sugo and, of course, a panzerotti, washed down with one of the best aperol spritz we've ever had was way more than we could eat... (especially that we also filled up on excellent  complementary olives) Thankfully the very friendly and welcoming staff wrapped us up a doggy bag.

always the best choice after french class! Rate 5 stars for the food. Last time, the service was ok! Cuz no one server us.

I had heard a lot about this local bakery and was excited to finally be able to check it out. We came here on a Sunday morning right when they opened and there was already a line (of course). The service: we were served by one of the owners and he is very chatty so make sure you are not in a rush when visiting! He is very nice and can recommend anything to you so don't be shy and ask! The food: I was especially excited to try the fresh foccacia. There are lots of variety and it was hard to choose just one. I ordered the mozzarella foccacia and the dough is so chewy yet crispy. I was also excited to see that the owner was preparing some fresh bomboloni and had to order some. They were filled with ricotta and chocolate chips and was amazing. We paid $27 for 1 foccaia and 3 bomboloni

When we talk about Italian cuisine, one thinks of Rome and Tuscany regions but have you heard about Puglia? Situated on the sun-soaked heel of Italy, Puglia has Italy's longest coastline while inland it's rich and fertile soil allow farms to thrive and supply most of Italy's olive oil. Next time you have a craving for some Italian food, look for cuisine from Puglia, where dishes allow the quality of their local and seasonal ingredients to take center stage: Pane di Altamura (famous bread), Orecchiette (little-ears pasta), Focaccia (studded with cherry tomatoes), Panzerotti (small calzone-like pizza pockets), Fresh vegetables, and the decadent Burrata (fresh cheese). Brothers Pierpaolo and Davide, owners of La Panzeria, both professional bakers and certified Italian school of cuisine Chefs, etablished themselves in Montreal to share unique culinary experiences from Puglia, with a twist! All dishes inspired from the different regional towns are made from scratch. In fact, sometimes you find "Mamma Francesca" at her table, who occasionally comes to help make orrechia pasta. As a true foodie pilgrim, I had to try their famous Polignano a Mare: Fried tender octopus, flavourful rapini, lime vinaigrette, and the highlight, one full burrata! Imagine fresh cheese, similar to mozzarella but with a gooey, rich, milky and creamy inside that oozes out when bite into it - worth every penny! In addition also got some savoury panzerroti and tried a technically difficult to execute cream pastry filled 'Tette delle Monache' - sry can't translate it ; ) Will certainly be back - hope to to see you too!

The focaccia is incredible, the bread is baked to perfection with delicious toppings.

La Panzeria is absolutely spectacular. The owner and staff take such great care for all food and drink they make. And you can't get any fresher of high quality Italian products and food anywhere else. The Bari Ice Tea was so refreshing and the Mortadella and Burrata focaccia was honestly life changing. The owner was fantastic and treated all guests as family. This is one of the best places I've ever been and some of the best food I've had.

Worth going out of your way for the focaccia based dishes. Loved the burrata, fig, and honey most.

The focaccia with burrata, prosciutto and figs drizzled with honey is so good it borderline felt sinful.

I now have a pizza option that rivals the best of NY, New Haven, and all the rest! Pizza Bouquet is labeled as a hybrid of other styles (NY and New Haven) and they are spot on ... more leaning to the NY version. This is exceptional pizza created by an energetic and passionate staff. I have only been there once, but in that short visit it was obvious that the pizza reflects the people that work there ... creative, fun, unique, and welcoming. They sell several great pies and actually offer both slices and whole pies. I ordered a pepperoni and hot pepper pie but as I sat there I had to get a slice of their upside down pie. While they were both outstanding, I have to say, what I cannot stop thinking about was that upside down slice. That was freaking magical. I would eat it there through because of the complexity and nuances of the actual pizza. Do not let this one sit ... trust me. Overall, this is a destination pizza in my book ,,, welcome to the world of pizza relevance Pizza Bouquet ... you guys do it right. Special shout out to the lovely ladies that danced through the entire preparation of my pie. Loved everything about this place!

New Montreal style pizza…read more Considering I've not heard of or tried "old Montreal style pizza"; just sayin'. The crust, similar to the NYC pie. Thin, gently crisp, some chew and char. Easily foldable. Follow it up with just the right amount of quality ingredients are brought together in just the right proportions with quirky flair. Upside down pizza (cheese first, sauce on top) or stranger still, a double carb potato pizza. Speaking of, the potato pie is so good. All the ingredients from a potato mille feuille with a hit of fresh rosemary and grana padano atop the well made crust. Rich, creamy, nuff said. Equally good the mushroom with its "mushroom cream" (think a thin duxelles) base, rosemary to season and meaty creminis and motz to round it all out. Finally the sopressatta. I mean, come on, who doesn't love a cheese pie made even more complex with goat cheese, honey and grana padano? Sold by the slice or whole 18 inch pie. Inexpensive. Is it better than the NYC pie? No. But it's definitely not as boring either.

I had researched it beforehand, and with all the excellent reviews and its prime location, I booked a table for 8. Let me tell you, it is one of THE best restaurants we've dined at here in Montreal. Location: It is nestled on the heart of Old Montreal- one of the prettiest parts of the city. Parking spots are found on the street- but be careful as this touristy part is notorious for giving out tickets. The best is to park in the science center garage close by - it's a bit pricy for $35 to park but you will not lose patience scavenging for a spot! The walk is also nice too. The service: We immediately were greeted by a hostess and seated at our table. We had a friendly waiter who provided great suggestions and pairings. He made sure to check on us through our dinner which we really appreciated. Food: Now the best part... the food was delicious!! We had a few appetizers to start: crispy calamari, arancini and a Caesar salad. They pride on their pizza being "authentic" Italian and after taking one bite, you can say yes it is! The crust is cooked to perfection, and they have many selection- we chose a classic margarita for the kids - and salame for the adults. Both were gobbled up quickly! Finally, we had said it was for a birthday celebration. And they brought out two beautiful dessert pizzas!!! I've NEVER tried anything like that before. They were absolutely delicious. Not only did we get one, but TWO which was more then enough for each member in our group to have one (and in my kids case, two or three haha). It was a major highlight to the night! So I definitely recommend coming here to celebrate special occasions as it will leave a memorable mark for you and each guest. I will definitely be back again soon!!!
