Full of flavour, quite unique, the skin texture was not too thin, not too thick. The truffle pasta was disappointing though. Nothing wrong with it, but at 25 euros, it was a pricey dish compared to what you can get elsewhere in Lucca. I get the feel that this place is popular due to its reputation. But its trying to charge high end prices (for example 3.50 euro cover charge, which is what most higher end places charge) but you're not really getting amazing dishes consistently. I'd suggest just walking by and looking through the window where you can see how the tordello is home-made. Then head elsewhere (eg Ristorante Giglio was amazing) for food.

It was a bit chilly out so we were seated inside on the second floor. Atmosphere was very cozy, service was excellent & food delicious. We ordered a pizza & a pasta dish. I also had some hearty homemade soup. A bottle of red wine went great with our meal. This restaurant is also connected to a wine & spirits store. We have tasted and purchased a wonderful dessert wine from there. The owner was very amusing & checked on us often. My understanding is that he acquired this restaurant very recently. The steak never arrived and we had to yell at the waitress to get the check. The home made ravioli was average or we could not have given even one star. Overall, a really awful experience.
