From Chicago, and this was my first time having pizza in Italy. Here are a couple of things to think about... --the crust (4.5/5) a nice, crispy crust, not soggy on the middle with a brick fire oven flavor. Yes, you will love it. --the sauce (5/5) is sweet and plentiful. I wanted to smile with every bite : ) --the cheese (5+/5), the plus is because this cheese is PERFECT. Add in a pinch of basil and it is heavenly. --the service (4.5/5) was good during lunchtime. --for dessert we had the cheesecake (2/5). I do not recommend. Overall, highly recommended!

TOURIST TRAP DONT GO HERE The food is mediocre nothing special other than the view. Waited 35 minutes to be sadly let down by small portions and terrible service. If you can go find something else, but if you don't care about budget and just want to sit by the beach . Your funeral.

Awesome oceanview on Positano Spiaggia! We have about an hour to kill before our scheduled ferry to Amalfi and wanted to sit down and chill. We really wanted to sit towards the front closer to the beach with a view. The host asked us if we were having lunch and we told her that we want drinks and something light. She said the front tables are for lunch only and we can't sit there. She then pointed us to the back and greet the next customer without another word. I get it - lunch will bring in more money, but there were plenty of open tables. Ahem, we are paying customers too! Anyway, we sat in the back - no beach view. The limoncello spritz and nutella crepe was average. My drink was from a can (lemon iced tea). Prices are on the high end but it's expected because it's Positano.

Hand-tossed to perfection Want pizza by the sea, then go here! We ordered the truffle and mushroom pizza and it was fired up to perfection! The calamari was fresh from the sea and the mayonnaise it came with was infused with , honestly just WOW we even tried amalfi beer, it was really good!!! The service here is very chill as Italy should be and the breath taking view of the beach helps so much!

At the end of a morning of touring, we were looking for a marina side restaurant before catching our tender back to our boat. We picked this location simply because it opened at noon and the restaurants on either side didn't open until 12:30 or 1:00. How odd is that with so many potential lunch guests. We were seated right away and service was efficient and attentive. Our group of 6 had a wide variety of drinks and food. I started with a local dark beer that was very good and I recommend (it is in one of the photos). I also tend to be quite adventuresome when it comes to foods so when I saw such a broad menu item as "fish fry" I had to try it. Don't think American or British fried fish!! What arrived was a plate of tempura fish of different sizes between 2 and 5 inches with a simple gutted belly but all fins and heads and bones still intact after time in the fryer. Some red, some white, some blackish - I am guessing sardines, a redfish, perhaps even a small eel. Also squid, octopus and shrimp (also still quite intact). Served with only a lemon, I wasn't sure about my selection. Then I started eating and every fish had a unique taste - all good. Bones were minimal, I ate no heads. But, it was a really really positive experience and I would do it again. For others, pizza was excellent and the orzo with shrimp was a taste sensation. I don't usually give a simple outdoor café 5 stars, but for the price, the location, the service and the food, this restaurant deserves it.

La Pergola is located a few steps away from the famed beach of Positano. They have patio seating as well as some tables facing the beach. They offer casual Italian fare and because of their prime location in Positano their pricing is on the higher side. I ordered a pizza and and an appetizer. Margherita con bufala (14.50 euros) - This pizza was prepared in a wood fire oven and had very simple ingredients. A home made tomato sauce, buffalo mozzarella, and 3 basil leaves (wish it had more). I was amazed at how incredible this pizza tasted! First of all the sauce was so flavorful, the buffalo mozzarella cheese had great cheese pull and tasted so fresh. And finally the crust was thin, pillowy and chewy! This was by far the best margherita pizza that I have tried. Grilled anchovies (17 euros) - I could tell the anchovies were fresh and they were so addicting to eat. They were seasoned and grilled to perfection. Overall I was impressed with the food here! Service was on point. There is a 2 euro cover charge per person for eating at the restaurant and the servers expect to be tipped here. TIP: The pizza is available for 5 euros cheaper (take away only) at the back of the restaurant. There is a stall where the pizzas are being prepared and they list out the pricing of the pizzas.

A very appealing menu; pizzas, pasta, spritz, salads, appetizers, seafood.... Something for everyone. Four of us sat at a beautiful beach front outdoor table and enjoyed prompt & efficient service. great service. We started with Limoncello spritz cocktails that were refreshing and delicious. Our caprese salad was fresh and very flavorful. Our pizza was large and delicious. The food in Italy doesn't contain preservatives & isn't salted so we really taste the fresh tomato sauce, buffalo mozzarella & dough.

Ordered the pepperoni pizza and it was the best I ever had. Nice view of the private beach if you score the right table. Waiters weren't the most attentive and it required multiple requests to get the bill but they were busy.

    Nutella Brioche w/ Caffe Brasiliano

All aboard the struggle bus if you're a morning person in Italy who is addicted to coffee. One morning my husband and I were en route to Capri, taking a 9:00am ferry off the island. Nothing around our hotel was open so we walked down to the beach and fortunately found La Pergola. Pastries and coffee was just what I needed. I got a caffe brasiliano (with milk froth) and brioche with Nutella. Everyone working here seemed to be having fun, which contributed to the positive vibe of waking up early. The brioche was light and fluffy, stuffed with the perfect amount of Nutella. The coffee was just fine. Hot, fresh, and decently strong. It was unusual that we ordered at the cash register first then got a receipt we had to show to the barista and pastry counter separately to get our food and drink. Luckily there weren't too many people around, or else it could have been chaotic. I'm sure all the staff is experienced with crowds, at any rate. Love the high tables scattered right outside the cafe, looking out on the beach. Later in the day, there's drinks and food, but we never came back here. The menu is very American, which I could appreciate after spending a week in Italy, and I'm still curious what the cocktails taste like. Perhaps it's better just to wonder.

Convenience. If you're at the beach and need a little gluten-free respite, this is a great place with $1 million view, or 1 million-euro view. Was overwhelming surprised by the quality and presentation... thinking it a tourist beach front restaurant... which it is ... but wow. The grilled octopus with potato purée, steak, seafood salad, fresh caprese etc - all done extremely well.

    * Price: 15-20 € per dish. Expected since it is located in touristy area and right on the beach. 3 star. * Ambiance: beachy, casual. 4 star. * Location: right on the beach with great ocean view from the patio area..very good for people watch and sunset view. 5 star. * Meals: so so. We had caprese, pasta with basil sauce and margarita pizza. Caprese is the best part of the whole meal with fresh tomatoes, mozzarella cheese and fresh basil. Pasta was ok, lukewarm and hard. Pizza was very soft and not hot! 2 star. * service: OK. 3 star. Overall, the view is awesome but we probably would not recommend this place since there is so many great restaurants in the area.

    Four cheese pizza

The pizza is absolutely AMAZING!! I've had pizza all around different areas of Italy and this place has the absolute best pizza. The four cheese and Margharita were what we tried and we loved it. I highly recommend!!

The food was delicious. The pasta was small but I enjoyed the portion and it was just enough for me to finish the whole meal. Service was kind. The restaurant is also location on the beach (perfect location) - because of this the ambiance was relaxing. I would recommend.

Many other reviewers have mentioned that this is the best meal that they've had in the entire country and unfortunately, without sounding like a false advertisement, I absolutely must agree. This was the best meal I have had in the entire country and I have traveled Italy extensively. They only have a couple of tables, the brothers, along with mama and Bridget, deliver an incredible meal, incredible experience, and the way the patrons feel after the experience cannot be matched. What the hell if we ordered Caesar salad, then meatballs, then gnocchi, then seafood with linguine, then the local catch of the day which today was amberjack, then ribeye, then dessert. I'm not alone in my prayer of this restaurant, my wife and my three children are unanimous that this was the absolute best meal that they have had in Italy. I strongly recommend this restaurant, but I would mention that you need to get there early because they do not take reservations. Please feel free to joke with Bridget about her Texan roots and her hallmark story which caused her to settle in Positano!

The house Posides Spritz was refreshing and perfectly balanced made with a cherry liquor, and the limoncello spritz was smooth, bright, and easily one of the best we've had in Italy. We finished with an affogato that was the perfect finale, rich espresso poured over creamy gelato for a sweet, satisfying finish along with the seasonal cake. Service was warm, friendly, and attentive throughout the evening, making the experience feel personal and relaxed. The restaurant is a bit of a walk from the city center with a few stairs to climb, but it's absolutely worth it. The stroll back down afterward is the perfect way to walk off the meal. Between the amazing food, stunning terrace views, and kind service, Posides is a true Positano gem.

This was our first meal after arriving in Positano and we couldn't have asked for a better one. We arrived in Positano around 10 PM on a Saturday night. This restaurant was on our itinerary and was a 2 minute walk from our hotel. We walked up around 10:30 and they sat us immediately on the outdoor patio. We ordered grilled octopus to start and it might have been the freshest and tastiest grilled octopus I've ever eaten. We also ordered a spicy green sauce pasta that was top 3 best things we ate on our entire trip. I wish I knew the name of it so that I could mention it here. We also ordered a prosciutto and burrata pizza. My wife isn't a huge fan of prosciutto so she didn't enjoy it as much as I did. But I would happily eat that pizza again and again. The staff were very kind and friendly. They didn't ever seem annoyed that we came in later at night. Every day that we walked past them to go into the main center of Positano, they smiled and invited us back in or asked how we were doing.
